Chapter Twenty-One #2

“Okay, that’s enough. Don’t flash my bandmates,” Danger warns, shooting me a pointed glare.

“Sorry, Ryan just makes me wanna take my clothes off.”

“Hell, yeah,” Ryan quips.

“Only because he makes me feel so dirty I need to shower,” I add, prompting laughter from the others at Ryan’s expense.

“I will get you back for that one, little miss. Don’t you worry.” Ryan chuckles, still good-natured despite my teasing.

Looking at Danger, I notice he seems slightly less annoyed now. I probably shouldn’t have flashed my bra-covered boobs to his bandmates, but Ryan brings out my teasing side. He’s such a loveable goof.

“Okay, let’s get to the after-party. I need a drink,” Danger announces.

The guys all nod and walk toward us.

But Danger turns to me and looks me in the eyes, lowering his voice. “Keep your clothes on. I’m not asking, Lunar, I’m telling you.”

I take in a deep breath. “Sorry, won’t happen again.”

“Good, ’cause if it does, I’ll have to spank your ass so hard you won’t be able to sit down for a week.”

Swallowing hard, my nipples bud, and my thighs clench together while a dull ache forms low in my belly. The threat of rough play in the bedroom with Danger isn’t a deterrent for me.

It only turns me on more.

I lean in next to his ear and whisper, “Maybe you can spank me anyway?” My teeth grab his earlobe, and I tug hard. He groans, thrusting his erection into my hip.

“Jesus, baby, why turn me on when we gotta go out?” His hand slides to my ass and squeezes.

Pulling back, I smirk and look deeply into his eyes. “Because I can tease not only Ryan but you too, big guy.” I run my hand over his chest and trail my fingers down his stomach, then grab his bulging crotch, making him squirm. Then I turn and head out the door after the rest of the guys.

“Lunar… Lunar! Can’t we stay in the green room for a little longer? Just five minutes?” Danger calls out as I head down the hall with a giant smirk.

“No can do. The car is waiting,” I call back with a smirk.

His deep, throaty growl echoes down the hall, and I giggle as I walk with a swagger behind the other guys, who are oblivious to my tormenting their lead singer.

Thunderous footsteps pound the floor behind me, and I grin from ear to ear, wondering what his reaction will be when he catches up.

He grabs my hand, effectively stopping me.

Then he wraps his arm around my shoulders, pulls me to him, and backs me into a wall.

“You owe me a blow job,” he whispers in my ear.

I smirk with a giggle and turn, kissing his stubbly cheek.

“Oh, do I—?” I attempt to feign innocence but am abruptly cut off.

Danger grinds into my now throbbing pussy, causing my breath to catch, all humor gone. My words are replaced with a moan when he thrusts his hard length against me once more. “What was that?” he inquires, his lips whispering against my ear and down my neck.

I grasp his hair with one hand, pulling him closer, needing him. “Danger…”

“That’s right, baby.” Danger nips at my neck, his hand sliding down, cupping my pussy.

I whimper, needing more. My hips rock against his hand while his fingers edge inside my panties in search of my clit.

My fingers in his sweaty hair grip him tighter, my lips pressing to his neck as I kiss his salty skin, my teeth grazing his flesh.

He finally presses against my clit, and I gasp before my back arches against the wall just as Nate opens the door to the back of the complex, and the night air hits my face.

“You guys coming, or what?” Nate drones with a huff.

Danger quickly pulls his hand from between my legs, a slight chuckle escaping him.

“We need to go. Nate wants to know if we’re coming,” Danger says playfully.

He kisses the tip of my nose before he rearranges his hard cock in his jeans, then walks toward the now-open door, knowing exactly what he’s doing.

The asshole.

Stifling a laugh, I compose myself and pull down my skirt. Letting out a long breath, I head for the exit. It’s still warm, and I can’t wait for the cooler months to come, but I could use some air to calm down.

Damn him for working me up like that.

How can he walk away like he wasn’t as turned on as I am?

As I make it outside and to the car, the guys are already inside, so I hop in the back, ready to head off to Vengeance, one of Melbourne’s most upmarket clubs with a terrific VIP section.

Luke has a new security team on us, and Vengeance has added security as well.

So it should be a good spot for our first after-party.

I’ve only really been to biker parties, so going to a rock star after-party is something new for me, and I have no comparison.

The car pulls up to the curb of Vengeance, and a security guy swings the car door open. Danger steps out behind me, and immediately, the cameras start their relentless snapping. No one asks questions, but the people in the lineup start to fuss.

Then someone calls out, “Hey, isn’t that Recoil?”

Ryan emerges from the car, followed by Nate and Matt.

Cheers erupt, and a girl breaks free from the line, sprinting toward Danger.

He grabs my arms, forcing me behind his back as she hysterically approaches.

Kane, our newest bodyguard, steps in, swiftly escorting the girl away just before she reaches Danger.

The cameras continue snapping amidst the laughter and cheers of the crowd, and my heart rate skyrockets, and I breathe heavily, overwhelmed by the chaotic scene unfolding before me.

What if that girl had reached Danger? What if she had a knife or something worse?

My mind floods with possibilities and dread. This could have escalated into something dangerous, and the uncertainty has left me trembling, my thoughts racing with what-ifs.

Danger turns to me. His hands grip my shoulders, forcing me to look at him. “You okay?” he asks, his voice cutting through the chaos swirling in my mind.

“She was… she was crazy,” I stammer out, my voice barely above a whisper.

“Yeah, but it happens, babe. Just know I will protect you. Always.” He wraps his arm around my shoulders, leading me into the venue. The music thumps loudly, the bass reverberating up through my toes and into my chest, amplifying my inner turmoil.

We’re directed to the VIP stairs and rush up them quickly to avoid the carnage in the crowd below.

When we get to the top, it opens up to a large area overlooking the dancefloor.

One-way glass lines the walls, offering a view of the bustling scene below.

Couches line the walls, with booths and tables on one side, while a bar occupies the other.

It’s impressive and exudes an air of sophistication.

As my nerves begin to settle and I start to relax, I can’t help but smile.

I look over at the corner where Luminous has an entourage of their own.

Groupies, probably, but the funny thing is, they’re all male.

Mainly youngish men, probably ranging from eighteen to mid-twenties.

I grab Danger’s hand and gesture for him to look in their direction.

He smiles warmly with a chuckle. “Let me get us some drinks. Go grab a booth.”

I release him with a quick peck on his cheek and find an empty booth.

A shadow appears to my left, and I turn my head to see Nate sliding into the booth opposite me.

I raise my brow and smile as he places his hands on the table in front of him, grinning.

“How you doing?” he asks, and I return the smile.

“I’m good. You?”

“Yeah, great. I’m on a high after the show. It’s so good to be the headliners finally. We’ve worked so hard to get here, and it’s finally paying off. It’s great to know people like our music.”

“Nate, they don’t like your music… they love it.”

“I hope they do. I know I love it. This band means so much to me. Always has. It’s all I have.

I mean… Matt is so talented at everything he does that he can get by.

” He tilts his head. “But me? All I’m good at is music.

The drums are everything to me, so being in this band gives me purpose and drive.

This is what I’m meant to be doing. You know what I mean? ”

This new side of Nate makes me smile. It’s like he isn’t a complete asshole. He’s opening up a little to me, and that’s a good thing. I know he doesn’t have many people to lean on besides his brother, so it would be nice if I could be there for him like I am for Danger and Ryan.

“Well, I’m sure you’re good at things other than playing the drums, Nate. You’re a smart guy.”

“Na… not really. I was a bad kid at school. Didn’t pay attention. Didn’t graduate, unlike Matt. I don’t know basic math, and I can’t read well except for music. So when you say I’m smart, I’m really not.”

I frown. “Why don’t you get a tutor to teach you some stuff? Like how to read and also some math?”

He shrugs. “Ryan and Danger don’t know how dumb I am. Only Matt does, and having a tutor on tour would make them suspicious and ask questions I don’t wanna answer. So yeah, don’t tell Danger any of this. I feel like I can trust you.”

“Of course you can. I won’t say anything. Nate, I’m here for you if you need to talk.”

Danger appears by my side with two drinks, and he sighs before he slides in next to me, causing the conversation to cease. Danger looks from me to Nate and then back to me.

“I’ll catch you later,” Nate mumbles, sliding out of the booth and walking off with his head down low and his hands in his pockets. A sweeping pang of sadness washes over me for Danger’s bandmate—and nemesis at the moment—I wish I could tell Danger what we were talking about, but I know I can’t.

I promised.

“What’s happening later?” Danger asks, and I smile.

“Nothing, it was just him saying goodbye. You read too much into things.”

Danger huffs, handing me my whiskey tumbler, and shakes his head. “I know he’s my bandmate and all, but I don’t trust him, Lunar. I don’t.”

“Oh, you’re being overly dramatic.”

“Am I? I don’t think so.”

Suddenly, Effa slides into the booth opposite us with a young guy. She appears as high as a kite. “Hey, guys, great night, hey?”

“You okay, Effa?” I ask.

Effa laughs and turns, thrusting her tongue down the guy’s throat. I glance at Danger and smirk, sharing a knowing look. We both grab our drinks and take a sip.

When they finally separate, Effa leans forward, placing her hands on the table and staring at us with enthusiasm.

“The world is made up of atoms, and every molecule in those atoms is buzzing right now with the electricity of Mother Nature. Can you feel it?” she asks, her eyes gazing up to the ceiling while her boy toy smiles at me seductively.

My eyes open wide before I glance around to see if he’s actually looking at me. He is. Shit! I roll my eyes before looking away from him, shaking my head.

“Umm… Effa, you’d better lay off the drugs. They make you weird.” Danger doesn’t hold back.

“Who says I’m on drugs? I’m high on life, Danger.”

Danger and I both laugh, shaking our heads.

“Effa, look, I know drugs when I see them. Just cut back, okay?” Danger asks with genuine concern.

“You’re no fun. C’mon, Sven.” Effa pulls her boy toy out of the booth and starts walking off.

“My name’s Toby,” he replies, making me smirk.

“I know, but Sven is sooo much sexier,” she answers before dragging him off with her.

I shake my head with a laugh, but turn to see Danger scowling.

“I don’t want drugs on this tour, Lunar,” Danger states.

“Then you’d better get Luke to talk to Luminous. By the look of it, Casey, Andrea, and Alana are all wasted too. God even knows where Kristy is at this point,” I tell him.

Danger nods. “Yeah, this is just the beginning of the tour. We gotta be on our game more than this. Ella’s dad was into cocaine, so I know firsthand where that can lead.”

Tensing at the mention of his ex-fiancée’s name, as I always do whenever Ella is brought up, I swallow hard. I hate that she played such a significant part in Danger’s life and hurt him so deeply.

If I ever meet her, people will need to hold me back because I don’t know that I’ll be able to hold myself back from telling her what I really think.
