Whenever and wherever I could be with my guys was home to me. I’d been fully committed to the idea of travelling the country—maybe even the world—with them.
But Hudson was the head of the Garland line, just as he should be. Tyler had nothing to fear from anyone any longer. And me, well… I was a simple guy beneath the fur and fangs. I hadn’t let go of the shop completely, so changing plans wasn’t a hassle for anyone.
We didn’t have to leave Felcove.
The days that followed what we had started referring to as The Marlowe Massacre were some of the best and brightest moments of my life. A deep, dark weight had been taken off Hudson. Likely more than one. He was all smiles and giggles, constantly shining like the sun.
