Chapter 5

Chapter Five

Daniel

Memories filled Daniel’s mind that night as he lay awake in his bed. One in particular standing out above others.

He was draped on top of Aaron, body sated, skin covered in sweat. He’d ridden the man hard, and he had to smile at the expression of utter bliss on Aaron’s face.

“We just keep getting better and better at that,” he breathed as he pressed kisses to Aaron’s collarbone and neck.

“You gotta be getting sore by now,” Aaron murmured as he squeezed Daniel closer.

Daniel clenched his ass and winced. “Yeah, a little. But there’s other stuff we can do.”

“Oh, yeah,” Aaron breathed. “Tell me more about yourself. I want to know everything.”

“You already know everything. I told you about my work, hobbies, favorite flavor of pie…”

“Mmm. I’m guessing you don’t have a boyfriend but is there a man on your radar?”

“No.”

“Girlfriend?”

“Definitely not. I love women but they just don’t do it for me.”

“Brothers? Sisters?”

Daniel closed his eyes. “No. I… I have no family left. Just me.”

“I’m sorry you’re alone, too. My family is gone, as well.”

Daniel cuddled closer. “I have my coworkers. They’re kind of like family.” He lifted his head and grinned. “And I like good sex. A lot.”

“We’ve certainly been having that.” Aaron stroked his hand down Daniel’s bare back.

Daniel propped his chin on his hand, trying to make Aaron’s expression out in the darkness of the room. “Two orphans, huh? It’s probably the only thing we have in common.”

“I wouldn’t say that. I wish I could be here longer, so we could discover all the things we have in common.”

The pang Daniel felt with his words went deeper than he would have expected after only knowing this man a few days.

But they’d been a hell of a good few days.

His sore body could attest to that. Their eyes had met in a bar, and Aaron had walked right up to him to boldly state that he was only in town a short time but that he’d like to spend it with him.

Bold and gorgeous with a sort of restrained strength that highly appealed to Daniel. He’d said yes right away.

He let out a sigh and moved his hand to rest his cheek on Aaron’s chest. Crinkly hair tickled his cheek, and he rubbed against it. “You feel it too, don’t you?” he whispered.

“Yeah, Daniel, I do.” Aaron tightened the arms he had around Daniel before stroking his hand up and down his spine again.

“Maybe we could meet sometimes. I like to travel, and Virginia is nice.”

“Unfortunately, I’m hardly ever there or in one place for long. My job takes me all over the country.”

Daniel lifted his head. “Then we could meet other places. This doesn’t feel like a mere hookup. I know I probably sound crazy, but chemistry like we have is pretty damned rare.”

“I’ve never felt chemistry like this.”

“Then meet me.” He leaned up and softly kissed Aaron’s lips.

“I will,” he whispered back before he pressed his lips harder to Daniel’s…

Daniel sat up in bed, his heart aching. “Fuck this.” Aaron, or Noel, had never called again after disappearing later that night.

He couldn’t help but wonder if any of their intimate conversations had been based in truth.

Now, he was back and just expecting to pick up where they’d left off.

For all Noel knew, Daniel could have a boyfriend by now. It would serve him right.

He didn’t, though. There was actually nothing but fear keeping him from being with the man. One who was more than likely his soulmate.

Daniel threw on a pair of sweats and left his bedroom to get a drink.

The whole time, he cursed himself for several things.

The memories, the desire simmering inside his body, and even the very thorough shower he’d taken.

What the hell? Despite how he was feeling, he’d still readied himself just in case. He was a fool.

He was just grabbing a tumbler when his doorbell rang, and his breath stopped. He knew exactly who was on the other side of that door. Had known Noel would come. He hesitated. Thought of pretending to be asleep. But he’d turned on lights, so his being awake was obvious.

And he was no damn coward.

Just kind of…weak where Noel was concerned.

Their explosive attraction to each other hadn’t waned in all these years. He doubted it ever would.

A knock sounded. “Come on, Daniel. I know you can’t sleep either. Know you’re in there listening.”

Daniel strode to the door and when he opened it, it was to find Noel with his hand raised to knock again.

Noel dropped his arm and all he said was, “Daniel. Are you ready to talk?” Then his gaze dropped to Daniel’s bare chest and those blue eyes went molten.

Daniel, driven by years of longing, just gave in. He moved first.

He retracted his claws and wrapped one hand around Noel’s neck, slamming their mouths together.

The relief was instant, lasted one second, before he was flooded with the kind of lust that obliterated everything else.

He tugged Noel into his house and kicked the door shut behind him.

They ate at each other’s mouths as Noel bent his knees and hauled Daniel up into his arms. He grabbed his ass tight, carrying him to the couch, then pressed him down into the cushions.

He came down on top of Daniel, who spread his legs so Noel could fit closer against him.

“We really should talk,” Noel murmured against his lips.

“Not yet,” was all Daniel could get out as he thrust his tongue back into Noel’s mouth.

The kiss was wet. Deep. And Noel’s body felt so unbelievably good on top of his. He was heavy and big, and Daniel felt surrounded.

He fucking loved it.

Noel kissed down his jaw to his neck, where he opened his mouth and sucked. He kept going, pressing open-mouthed kisses on Daniel’s bare skin. He licked around his left nipple, then took it into his mouth and sucked.

Daniel’s back bowed as he gasped in air. But Noel didn’t let up, biting his other nipple and nipping at his belly. He nuzzled his nose into Daniel’s happy trail and groaned.

“You smell so good,” he murmured as he pulled down Daniel’s sweats. Daniel’s cock lay hard against his abdomen, and Noel took a couple of moments to stare before his hot gaze came up to meet Daniel’s. “I missed your beautiful dick. I missed you, Daniel.”

Daniel wanted to tell him he’d missed him, too, but he was too overcome with dizzying desire.

He watched avidly as Noel took him into his mouth, crying out at the hot, wet clasp.

It felt like coming home, which was crazy when they’d only spent three days together over five years ago, but that’s the way he felt.

He couldn’t take his eyes off Noel, who stared back as he slowly moved down onto his cock.

He came back up and let it fall from his mouth before giving Daniel the most sensual grin, then dipping his head to lick around the head.

He took it back into his mouth, his cheeks going in as he sucked hard and moved back down again.

He never took his eyes off Daniel.

Daniel knew what he looked like. Wide eyes, open mouth as he panted.

It just felt so surreal to be where he’d longed to be for so long.

He reached down to thread his fingers through Noel’s hair, loving the silky strands around his skin.

He ran his fingers through it over and over, and he could tell that Noel liked it by the way his eyes grew heavy-lidded.

Still he stared and kept doing so as he took Daniel deep and swallowed around his head.

A sudden rush of pleasure swept through him. He bowed up again and threw his head back to cry out as he tightened his fingers in Noel’s hair. Noel groaned around his cock, his tongue stroking in the most delicious fashion. He swallowed around him again, and Daniel’s orgasm hit and hit hard.

His eyes snapped shut, his mouth opening in a silent scream as so much pleasure went through him. Wave after wave of it that he rode out with utter and complete focus. Just losing himself to the blessed escape from reality.

He finally slumped, his hands falling away from Noel’s hair as Noel rested his cheek on Daniel’s abdomen and took a deep breath.

“I could breathe you in forever. Could swallow your cum every day for the rest of my life.” He lifted his head to look at Daniel.

“You do understand that, right? That I want more with you. That this isn’t just another hookup.

I want you, Daniel with everything I am. ”

Instead of answering, Daniel just whispered. “Come up here and let me suck you. I know you gotta be aching by now.”

“Oh, I am, but it’s a delicious ache. The anticipation is half the fun.

” He tilted his head, his sandy hair falling over one eye.

“I’m more interested in you hearing what I need to say.

I didn’t mean to stay away but the job I was on at the time stretched out so long—” He broke off, his eyes shadowed.

“I was undercover at the time. I couldn’t tell you the truth. ”

“You were undercover for five years?” Daniel couldn’t help the layer of heavy sarcasm in his tone.

“No, but it was for over a year. By the time I wasn’t, it felt like too much time had passed. I was sure you would have moved on. I still thought of coming back, but I convinced myself to let you go. I broke a lot of rules being with you over that weekend. Rules that nearly got me fired.”

“You would have deserved it.”

“Yes, I would have.” He touched Daniel’s cheek. “I’m sorry. Sorry it took me so long to get up the courage to try again. I’m leaving my job. Leaving because I want to be here. With you. Do you want that, Daniel?”

There was so much he wanted to say. But he was still scared. Even with the certain knowledge this man was his soulmate, a part of Daniel was still stuck in five years of pain and longing. Of missing Noel’s touch.

Truth was, he was too fucking confused to give Noel any kind of response. So, he stayed silent. They lay there a long time until Daniel gave in to the needs of his sated body and closed his eyes.
