Epilogue

Billy was still in jail, and his mother even spent some time there, too. The FBI was still looking into the kidnapping ring, and Cedric had been helping them.

And it was even better than camping in tents.

It just seemed appropriate to turn the cabins and land into prime real estate for shifters after Grayson had sold his home.

Several shifters helped them renovate the log cabins just for fun and camaraderie; they were not only restored in no time but also a hundred times nicer than they’d ever been.

The cabins were far enough apart in the woods to give everyone complete privacy, but they also had a walkway through the forest from one to the other, with a covered barbecue area to keep the rain and snow out, a cement foundation, and a perfect spot for shifter gatherings between the two cabins.

To commemorate finishing the cabins, they had a big barbecue of ribs, fish caught in the creek, hot dogs, and hamburgers for all who had participated and their families.

But the first people to stay at the cabins were Amy, whose arm had healed up in record time, and her mate Cedric, and Grayson and Kendra. After that, the cabins were booked up for the next two years.

When everyone finished partying at the big barbecue, they gave hugs all the way around. Ivy reminded Grayson that she wanted nieces and nephews. Everyone left while the two couples made their way to their respective cabins.

“Here I thought those rickety cabins were going to be the end of us if Younger had held us there until Metcalf arrived,” Kendra said, as Grayson swept her up in his arms and carried her into the master bedroom suite.

“When instead they became a shifter paradise in the wilderness, and our home away from home. Love you, honey.” He gently placed her on the bed.

But as soon as he joined her, she tackled him. “Love you right back, love of my life.”

Then they heard something outside their cabin. When they checked, they saw a grizzly bear peering in through the bedroom window.

Kendra got a call from Amy right after that. “Hey, Cedric and I envisioned a wild, big old male grizzly outside your cabin.”

“We’ve got this.”

“Yeah, we heard you were bear experts.”

Kendra laughed and returned to bed with Grayson. “If we need your help…”

“We’ll be there!”
