Chapter 19

Nineteen

Journal Entry

Twenty-two years old

Dear Aoife,

I’m sorry I haven’t written to you in a while. Life has been…distracting, to say the least.

I met a girl. Her name is Synthia, but people call her Syn (sin).

Her nickname is intriguing because she’s the opposite of that word.

In a lot of ways, she reminds me so much of you.

Same eyes, same fiery spirit, same beautiful, innocent soul.

Same strength. She’s living with the guys.

You probably don’t want to hear that. Then again, you’d probably welcome her with open arms, regardless, because that’s the kind of person you were.

Loving and kind. You never saw the bad in people, even when there was nothing good in them to find.

I hope you will still find the good in me after tomorrow.

I hope you can forgive me for what I’m about to do.

If my plan fails, maybe God will show me kindness and let me come to heaven to be with you and Mama. I highly doubt that will happen, seeing as thou shalt not kill is one of the Ten Commandments.

I miss you. I never stopped.

-Aleksander
