Chapter 71

CHAPTER SEVENTY-ONE

HANNAH

If I thought they were overbearing before, I had no fucking clue what I was talking about.

I haven’t been alone in a week, and if they had it their way, that would include going to the bathroom.

You know what? Overbearing isn’t a strong enough word.

It’s not that I blame them, because I’ve been on edge every time they’ve left a room since we came home, but I could really use some privacy every now and then.

A perk of having them around all the time is that they were able to help me preserve all but two of my clients after the news dropped that I was in a relationship with my ex-stepfather and his son.

Most people didn’t care, and the people who did weren’t worth worrying myself over, and now I have a bit more time to spend with my guys.

Marianne has been calling nonstop, asking for money since her cash cow dried up, not that anyone knows what happened to the man who seemingly had so much power. I know Kovu took him home with them, and that he’s been put through the wringer ever since, but I haven’t asked, and I don’t plan to.

I’m just happy that chapter of my life is coming to a close.

Given that Jeffrey is officially classed as missing, the board has taken over running the company and has already unearthed all kinds of shady dealings, and with that, I officially signed away all my legal ties to the family.

There’s no more trust fund to dangle in front of me, no more connections to make because of my name alone. I’m just another person with Malone as a last name, and hopefully one day I’ll have another name altogether.

I shut off the blistering hot water and sigh. Asher is on a call with his agent about a charity fight, and Rowan is in his office working, so I took the opportunity to have a shower by myself.

Don’t get me wrong, I love having them shower with me because they wash my hair better than I ever could, but it also leads to other activities that I don’t have time for right now.

We’re due to leave for the Scarlet Lounge in an hour, and I want as much time as I can to get ready.

When Rowan told me this morning that he’d booked a private room for us, I just about threw myself at him with excitement.

A night of debauchery with my men in the place we finally came together?

Count me the fuck in.
