Chapter Nine
Atlas
Stamping the last paper in the stack that Bel had left for him, Atlas sat back in his chair. He was vibrating from the amazing orgasm earlier. Even during breakfast Atlas couldn’t keep his eyes off his mate. Bel had been partially cocky as he’d plowed through two plates of eggs, bacon, and toast.
Atlas rolled his neck, trying to work out the tension.
His body was on fire. He needed. Atlas had never been so jumpy because of one sexual encounter. Of course being with his mate would be different than any other time but Atlas hadn’t expected this unease. Bel had been gone for less than ten minutes.
The wall opened across the room and Bel strode in quickly.
Atlas was out of his chair and running before the wall had closed behind Bel again.
Bel opened his arms and Atlas ran into them. Their lips met with passion and all the need that Atlas had been dying in was shared with his mate.
Atlas sucked on Bel’s tongue as Bel gripped his ass hard.
He’d been half hard since Bel had popped off his dick earlier and it was raging hard within seconds. Atlas rubbed his erection against Bel’s stomach.
Bel took one step and Atlas’s back hit a wall. A wall that hadn’t been there a moment before. A wall that had moved just so that Atlas could be pushed against it. Atlas gasped into Bel’s mouth.
“I can’t get enough of you,” Bel said as he continued to nibble and kiss along Atlas’s jaw. “I need more.”
“I was going crazy,” Atlas confessed, tilting his head to give Bel better access.
Bel sucked on a piece of skin under Atlas’s ear.
Fuck! That was good. Atlas squirmed. “Please!”
Bel abandoned his neck to kiss him again. Except he pulled away when Atlas would have deepened the kiss. “We need to talk.”
Talk? “You talk too much.” He tried to kiss Bel again but his mate darted his head to the side.
“Mate bond,” Bel said. “This has to be the mate bond.”
“I don’t care!” Atlas declared.
“You don’t—” Bel’s hips snapped as Atlas nipped his collarbone.
“Don’t deny me. Not this time,” Atlas pleaded.
“Fuck, baby!” Bel said. He’d started to sweat.
“There hasn’t been one thing that happened since we met that I haven’t been totally on board with. Do you think that will change now?”
“I don’t want to take your choice away. After we mate, it is forever,” Bel told him.
“I chose you,” Atlas responded. “I will always choose you, my mate.”
Bel watched his face, then they were in a room that Atlas hadn’t seen before.
“Where—”
“Our room,” Bel told him. He set Atlas down on his feet. “If we are going to mate then it will be in our room. Where we will sleep together every night.”
His sweet mate. Atlas nodded. “Our room.” He turned to take in the space that Bel had brought him into. His mouth dropped open in shock.
With the use of magic, Atlas was used to the way that everything in the office and the spare bedroom he’d claimed was neat and in place. Bel’s room was the opposite of what Atlas had seen of his mate.
“It’s…nice.” It was absolutely packed from floor to ceiling and wall to wall.
“I like to collect things,” Bel offered. He stuffed his hands in his pants pockets looking embarrassed.
“A lot of things,” Atlas agreed.
Bel sighed. “I’ve been around a very long time. There has been a lot to collect.”
Books, nicknacks, little pieces that Atlas couldn’t name. There wasn’t a spot in the room that wasn’t covered. Well except the bed. The big bed that took up the middle of the room, covered in a black comforter. Atlas pointed to the bed. “I approve.”
Bel rocked back on his heels. “Just the bed?”
“No,” Atlas drawled. He walked from one end of the room to the other. “I actually like seeing this.” He turned. “Why were you hiding it?”
“I wasn’t hiding anything,” Bel replied quickly.
Atlas hummed.
Bel shrugged. “How much do you know about demonology?”
“Not much,” Atlas admitted. “And what I do know is obviously wrong.”
“Maybe not as wrong as you think. I am a prince of hell. One of the original seven sins demons.”
Atlas blinked at his mate. Had he known that? “Seven sins.”
“The seven deadly sins,” Bel confirmed. “Given to Lucifer to help him complete his tasks. To help the king of hell punish the evil souls.”
“Okay.” Maybe Atlas should have asked more questions. One good look at Bel and Atlas knew it wouldn’t matter. “That’s fine.”
Bel smiled at him. “You have no idea what that means.”
“It doesn’t matter to me,” Atlas assured his mate.
“It should. After we mate, you will be tied to me for eternity. We will never be apart.”
“Eternity,” Atlas said. There was something important not being said.
“I am one of the oldest demons in existence. Only Lucifer himself is older than me.”
Atlas nodded.
“The fates would never give me a mate that would leave me. When we mate, you will become immortal.”
Holy shit! “Immortal?”
“Yes.”
“I won’t ever die?” Atlas asked for clarification.
“You can’t die.”
“Can’t? What it someone chopped off my head?” It was the worse way that Atlas could imagine losing his life. Why he came up with something so gruesome, he had no idea.
“You would recover,” Bel told him.
“What if I got blown up?” The words were out of his mouth before he could stop them.
Bel winced before answering. “You would recover.”
“I won’t ever die?”
“Never.”
“And you would stay with me the whole time. Forever?” Atlas asked.
“Yes.”
“You’ve been alone for a very long time. I’ve heard how Gage and Cary talk about Lucifer before they mated,” Atlas said. “You should have selfishly mated to me and fuck the consequences. You didn’t. Even now that I told you I want you to claim me, you’re still trying to warn me away.”
“Not,” Bel said and paused. “Not warn you away really. Just warn you in general, I think.”
“And you think because you’re some high-level demon, I don’t really want to mate with you?” Atlas questioned. “I knew that already.”
“My first job was to collect the souls of beings that engaged in gluttony. That used their gluttony to hurt, kill, and abuse others.”
Gluttony. Atlas looked around the room. “And that has to do with your room because…” He allowed the question to trail off.
“I can never have enough of what I want,” Bel confessed. “When I get fixated on something I want, then I start to collect it. And collect it until something else catches my attention.”
“It’s a part of your makeup,” Atlas told him.
“To my very soul,” Bel said.
Atlas crossed the room to stand in front of his mate. He had to tilt his head all the way back to gaze into his eyes. “I accept all of you. If it’s a part of you, then I will love it.”
Bel sucked in a breath. “Love?”
It was time to put all his cards on the table.
“I’ve only loved a few people in my life.
I mean I’m only twenty-seven, so it hasn’t been a long life yet, but I’ve never been romantically in love with anyone.
I’m not sure what I feel exactly. I know that the mate bond is pulling us together.
I also think I would like you without it. ”
“You would?” Hope bloomed on Bel’s face.
Atlas shrugged. “Pretty sure. You are the one that said that the fates think we’re a perfect match.”
“That’s what having a mate means,” Bel said happily.
Atlas placed his palms over Bel’s chest. His mate was always so warm. “I’m going to need you to believe that. Yes, a lot has changed in a very few days. It has been a little crazy.”
“Just a little,” Bel teased.
“I’m oddly okay with a little crazy.” Atlas smirked. “Now is there any other reason that we aren’t in that big bed of yours?”
Bel swallowed hard. “Once I have you or you have me, I’m afraid that it will be too much. That I’ll be too much when I want you all the time.”
Atlas shook his head. “Being wanted by you will never be a bad thing.”
“Why are you still wearing clothes?” Bel asked.
He laughed hard while pulling off his clothes.
“Mate,” Bel said before using magic to remove his own clothing.
Atlas blinked at him. “Oh yeah.” And his clothes were gone.
Bel reached for him at the same time that Atlas grabbed for Bel’s arm.
Their laughter, their happiness filled the room, before their lips met.
Atlas ate at Bel’s mouth as he climbed his body.
Bel held on to him and then the bed was under him.
Wrapping his legs around Bel’s waist had their cocks lining up. Atlas pushed his hips up. The satin of his cock rubbed against something bumpy.
Wait.
What?
Atlas pushed at Bel’s chest until Bel was kneeling between his legs. Staring at Bel’s thick cock, he had no idea how he’d missed the small bumps along the bottom. The thick gold vein that circled around the head.
“Oh!” Bel went to cup his hands in front of his dick. “I forgot.”
Atlas smacked Bel’s hands away. “Let me see that gorgeous piece of meat.”
Bel groaned. “Don’t call it that.” He did move his hands though.
Running the tip of his finger around the head of Bel’s cock, Atlas didn’t know how he’d missed the differences between his and Bel’s erections. Bel had jerked off over Atlas earlier but he’d been too focused on watching his mate come to pay proper attention to Bel’s cock.
“Can I taste you?” Atlas asked. Did demons come taste different than a human’s? Damn it, Atlas should have tried some earlier.
“Now?” Bel asked.
“Please,” Atlas begged while lifting his eyes to peer up. “I want to taste you.”
Bel wrapped his fingers around the base of his cock, holding it out for Atlas.
Atlas scrambled to his hands and knees, opening his mouth.
“Good boy,” Bel praised. Slowly, he flexed his lips until the tip of his cock brushed against Atlas’s mouth.
Sticking his tongue out, Atlas licked up the precome from the tip. He swallowed the small taste before going back for more. This time he closed his lips around Bel’s cockhead and sucked hard.
Flavor, spicy and peppery, exploded in his mouth.
Hmm, Atlas sucked again. Definitely different from a human and so much better.
“Such a good boy,” Bel said again. He still held his cock with one hand as he buried the other into Atlas’s hair. Gently pushed his cock into Atlas’s mouth.
