Epilogue
Seph
I was dreaming. But it was unlike anything I had seen before.
I stood on a precipice, high above the world below. And before me, in the sky.
A darkness.
At first I saw the stars. But each began to blink out.
One, by one, by one.
And my hands. They were reaching out.
And the darkness was growing.
They touched the void. It felt endless. Hungry.
Behind me, I felt a presence approach. Light as a shadow on the breeze.
I couldn’t see her, but I knew it was her.
Echo.
She took my hand.
“What’s happening,” I whispered, my voice a rasp on the breeze.
“The end,” she said simply.
“The end of what?” I asked.
“Everything.”
