Chapter 31
Chapter Thirty-One
Slowly, Devon eased into the upholstered chair by the window. His erection bulged in his sweatpants. He looked more than a little pissed, though his mouth curved upward at the corners. His eyes held a challenge. If she wasn’t careful, he’d wrest control of this moment back from her.
But Devon was clearly the kind of man who gave more than he took—in every aspect of his life, sex included. If she had to force him to sit back and receive pleasure, then she’d do it. She wanted to focus only on him. His body, his orgasm.
Aurora knelt in front of him. “Remember? I told you I was going to take care of you.”
“You don’t have to.”
“But I want to. So, take off your pants.”
A chuckle snuck out of his chest. “How can I argue with that?” He lifted his hips, hooked his thumbs in his waistband, and shucked the sweatpants to the floor. His cock sprang free, pointing at the ceiling.
“There you are.” Her mouth watered. Aurora rested her hands on his thighs.
The muscle felt like steel beneath her palms. For several seconds, she just took in the sight of him.
By any objective standard, this man was gorgeous.
Droplets of water were scattered over his shoulders and broad chest from the shower. His damp hair stood at wild angles.
In the window behind the chair, waves crashed onto shore. There was no way anybody would be able to see inside, not from this angle, and not with the sun so bright. But Aurora still felt a delicious tingle at having Devon naked here.
She climbed up his legs, running her hands over his eight-pack and pecs. Her mouth scattered kisses over his skin, enjoying the tickle of his chest hair. He reached for her, but she took his hands and placed them on the arms of the chair.
“You know the rules.”
“They’re not my rules.” There was that challenge again in his gaze. Heat that seared through her. Part of her did want to lie back and let him take whatever he wanted. But that would have to wait until she showed him just how grateful she was. He’d saved her life.
And yeah, she got off on the control, too. She had to make him scream her name. Why should he get to have all the fun?
Straddling his legs, she peeled off her own shirt and bra. Her nipples hardened as he stared unabashedly at her breasts. God, she loved the way he looked at her. Like he couldn’t get enough.
Aurora leaned forward to trail kisses down his neck and collarbone.
Reaching his chest, she paused to lick one of his nipples, then the other.
He groaned, grinding his pelvis against her.
But she didn’t stay there long. Her feet lowered to the floor, and her mouth kept moving down over the ridges of his stomach.
Just as her mouth was about to reach his hard-on, she leaned forward and rubbed her breasts on either side of him instead. His cock jumped.
“Ughn,” he moaned.
Finally, she returned to her knees and took hold of him at the base. She swirled her tongue around his tip. Salt and musk met her tongue. His taste and smell were heady, pure masculinity. The fingers of her other hand caressed his balls.
Her tongue moved over him from his sac to his tip.
“Jesus.” Devon threw his head back. “You’re good at this.”
She had a brief flash of unwelcome memory. Her ex Justin, frowning after she gave him head, asking how many times she’d done that before. Implying that she was just a little too skilled for his comfort.
Aurora liked sex. Until Justin, she had never been shy about that.
She’d had a decent number of partners—those Max didn’t manage to scare away in high school, and then plenty more as she’d embraced the freedom of her freshman year of college.
Justin had made her feel guilty about it.
As if her sexual history was something she needed to apologize for to soothe his ego.
But Devon seemed to be enjoying himself without the least bit of self-consciousness.
Her mouth closed around him, and she took him deep. His hand lightly touched her head, more of an encouragement than a command. She swallowed around him. He was moaning her name, and she’d never heard anything so sexy.
It didn’t take him long. He shook as he came, hand tightening in her hair. She took every last drop, giving him one final lick as she sat up. Devon had practically collapsed into the chair. His chest moved as he panted.
“Come here.”
Aurora climbed into his lap. Devon’s right arm circled her, and his mouth landed on hers. His tongue parted her lips, no doubt tasting the saltiness his cum had left behind.
“Thank you,” he murmured. “That was…beyond words.”
“My pleasure.”
“Pretty sure it was mine.”
He nuzzled into her neck, holding her close.
She felt a wave of relaxation and calm, as if she’d been the one to get off.
But giving him pleasure had been nearly as satisfying.
And snuggling up with him after? She couldn’t imagine anything better.
This man had already sunk beneath her skin.
Her heart was in serious danger. It would be so easy to fall for him.
Fall for his kindness, his bravery, his generosity.
His incredible body and those soulful hazel eyes.
Okay, maybe her heart wasn’t just in danger. She was already in free fall, and only Devon could catch her. Her rational mind warned that it was too soon to even think a certain four-letter word. But her heart was beating out the message loud and clear.
Should she say something? Or would that freak him out?
She sighed, and a wrinkle appeared between his eyebrows. “Are you okay?”
“Yes. I think so. But, well…”
Devon tensed. At the same moment, she heard footsteps out in the living room. Then a rough knock. “Whitestone? You awake?” And before she could do a thing, the door burst open, and her brother stood in the doorway.
There was no hiding what they’d been up to. At least Aurora was in Devon’s lap, hiding some of his nakedness, and her own bare chest had been turned away from the door.
Max’s eyes widened, his face instantly reddening with shock. “What the fuck is going on here?”
“The…the lock!” she stammered. “I locked the door!”
Max turned around, facing away from them, though he didn’t leave. “The lock on this room is broken. Both of you get some clothes on.” His voice was strained. Max’s hands had tightened into fists.
Aurora grabbed her bra and top and threw them on. Devon pulled up his pants. He struggled with a shirt because of his injury, but he managed it, refusing her help.
“Devon,” she whispered, “let me handle this.”
He wouldn’t meet her eyes.
“Are you both decent?”
“Yes, sir,” Devon replied.
Her older brother turned around. She’d never seen his face this shade of red. Max glared at Devon, who returned the gaze. But Devon looked cowed.
“Am I going to get an explanation?” Max seethed.
“This is my fault. Entirely.”
Aurora huffed. “I was definitely an active participant. I made the first move, so if anything, it’s my fault. Don’t you dare blame him, Max. It’s none of your business what I do or who I spend time with.”
Max hadn’t taken his eyes off the other man. “It’s my business when the guy you’re naked with is my employee. Who I hired to guard you. Not…whatever he was just doing.”
Okay, a fair point. But Aurora wasn’t going to admit that. “He’s not guarding me at all. He’s off duty.” Which completely ignored the fact that Devon had been her bodyguard earlier, when they’d first gotten intimate, but she was grasping at straws.
“Aurora, you need to leave,” Max said. “Go back downstairs. I need to speak with my employee. Alone.”
“No. I am not leaving. You can be angry at me, but I won’t let you take it out on him.”
“Please,” Devon whispered. “You’re just making this worse. Wait for me downstairs, okay?”
Tears stung her eyes. But she did as he asked. Neither Max nor Devon even looked at her as she left the room.
