Chapter 20 #2
Some might’ve called her figure boyish, but to Dominic, it was all soft femininity. The long slope of her stomach, a slight flare where her hips curved into her thighs.
“My turn.” She straddled his lap and pushed him back onto the mattress. He let her kiss him until they were both breathless, hips grinding together. He used one hand to cup the back of her thigh, fingers sliding toward the juncture between her legs. So wet. He loved how turned on she was.
“I need you up here so I can taste you.” Dominic lifted her by the hips, encouraging her to crawl upward.
He kept moving her up his body until her knees were spread to either side of his face.
Fuck, yes. One of his favorite views. Gorgeous pink folds, right there within easy reach.
The scent of her was musky and primal, calling to some wild part of him deep in his chest.
“Hands on the headboard.”
“You’re bossy.” But he saw her take hold of the top of the bed.
Two of his fingers spread her even wider. Then he shoved his tongue inside her.
Her answering moan send thrills of pleasure to the base of his spine. He backed off a bit, kissing her inner thighs.
“Did I say you could stop?” She was angling her pelvis toward his mouth, obviously ready for him.
Dominic smiled and lapped at her with the flat of his tongue. He nibbled and sucked at her, not worrying if she was headed toward an orgasm, just following her gasps and shouts.
“You’d better be quiet up there, unless you want your bodyguard to think you’re being mauled.”
Sylvie pushed herself against his mouth in reply. He fucked her with his tongue, and she made little high-pitched panting noises. Dominic’s cock was achingly hard, leaking all over his stomach.
Suddenly she sat to one side. “Wait. We should—”
Dominic got up to his knees and cut off her words with a fierce, messy kiss.
He didn’t want her to reflect on how much she despised him, how they shouldn’t be doing this.
He couldn’t stand to hear the contempt in her voice.
Sylvie melted against him, gripping his shoulders as he lowered her back to the mattress.
Her thigh rubbed his erection. He rutted against her, desperate for the feeling of her skin. The thought of being inside of her, fucking her with that same savage intensity he’d seen in her eyes, sent jolts of need through his body.
“Tell me you want me,” he murmured. He really hoped she had a condom.
“Ye—wait, no. No.” She pushed him off her.
Damn. She’d come to her senses a lot faster than he had.
“We need to talk. We can’t just fuck like all the other stuff didn’t happen.”
“We can’t?” His massive hard-on begged to differ.
“No, Dominic. We can’t.” She scrambled up against the headboard, pulling the blanket partway over her nakedness. “I need to know what your uncle will do when he finds out you didn’t install that program. Will he hurt you? Or Raymond?”
He’d been trying not to think about that. “He won’t realize it till tomorrow, at the earliest. I’ll figure something out.”
“I want to help you.”
Dominic crawled up to sit beside her, pushing his dick with his hand to calm it down. “You sure about that?”
“Of course. I don’t hate you. I could never hate you now that I…know you.”
“That’s the nicest thing anyone’s ever said to me.” He only wished that were a joke.
“But we have to trust each other. For real this time.”
He exhaled. “Then the answer’s yes. My Uncle Charles will hurt me and Raymond once he realizes I failed to follow instructions.
And Maureen. Sylvie, he threatened you as well.
” Dominic put his arm around her and drew her against him.
“I’m afraid of what could happen.” He couldn’t bear to lose anyone he cared about, including her.
“I’ve got Tanner and the other bodyguards I work with. And I texted Max tonight about putting a detail on Raymond. They’re going to stay hidden so the Syndicate doesn’t find out.”
Dominic closed his eyes as anxiety filled his stomach. His erection was gone. “Your friends are that good? If the Syndicate sees Bennett Security watching my brother, they’ll blame me.”
“They are that good. But it’s only temporary because we’ll get Raymond to safety. And you and Maureen. I’ll make calls in the morning.”
Dominic looked down at her. She sounded so confident. But how many times had he faked his way through, hiding the confusion that ate him up inside? “You’re sure the rest of Bennett Security will agree with you?”
“I’ll convince Max, and he’s all we need. And don’t worry about the flash drives. I have ideas for how to buy us some time. Do you trust me enough to let me handle this?”
“I trust you.” If anyone could actually help him, he believed it was Sylvie. “If you can honestly say you trust me.”
She caressed his cheek. Her blue eyes studied him. Sylvie pulled his head lower, so their noses touched. “I want to trust you. So I will.”
Her lips met his, softly at first. Their tongues brushed. Their kisses grew hotter, deeper, more intense. Not angry. Not like before.
Dominic thought of the way Sylvie had played the violin. His hand traveled down her body, firm but gentle, relishing every inch of bare skin.
“Everything else can wait until morning, right?” he said. “Come to my room. Spend the night in my bed.”
“I want that. Want you.”
Arousal sped down his vertebrae.
It meant a lot to him that she’d said she trusted him, even if he hadn’t given her much reason to. She trusted him simply because she chose to. He intended to live up to her show of faith.
He was choosing to trust her, too, because he couldn’t bear the alternative.
To so many people, he was the bad guy. But he’d never wanted that. Especially not with Sylvie. This was his defiance of all the ugliness and cruelty he’d seen in his life—to be sweet and tender and real with someone else, and to get the same in return.
