Chapter 1 Bentley Atkins #3

“Your shipment should arrive between the hours of 3-5 a.m. Have your people there and ready Papi. That window closes as soon as the time runs out. I don’t give grace periods,” she warned me.

“Stop playing with me like you don’t know who you dealing with Catalina. Mi tiempo es dinero y no lo desperdicio (My time is money, and I don’t waste it).”

“Si alguien lo sabe, soy yo (If anyone knows that, it’s me).”

“Make sure you get with Kong tonight, so you can get your bread. Where that invoice at?” She reached inside her purse and pulled out a document handing it off seconds later. I gave it a quick glance focusing on the Glock count. The missing case was included. “Cool.”

“I wouldn’t shit you on purpose Papi. Last time was my mistake. I take full accountability for that.”

“Aye, I ain’t giving you a hard time so don’t give me one. Let’s get the fuck out of here. I got people to entertain.” I walked to the elevator, and she beat her feet to join me.

We rode back up to the third floor and slowly but surely began to participate in the good vibes.

Kong’s wife and her two friends had finally made their way up, so my section was packed.

The ladies were beautiful and engaging with Catalina as if she was my other half.

I found it comical but didn’t care to correct any of them.

Who I entertained wasn’t their business.

The more I drank, the more my eyes got heavy.

It didn’t help that Kong had blunts being passed in rotation.

I’d loosened up more than a lil’ and was enjoying the ass Catalina kept putting in my lap.

I had to admit that a good time was being had.

That was until I was interrupted by a muthafucka I hadn’t heard a word from in weeks.

His text came through as I was recording Cat grinding on a nigga dick.

Enzo: Yo Bent. Can I holla at you for a minute?

Holla at who? I knew that nigga wasn’t trying to converse after he’d been missing in fuckin’ actions for weeks at a time.

He did that shit months ago, and I let his goofy ass off with a warning.

This time he tested my patience farther than he did previously.

His ties were cut the second he dipped out leaving my work and bread unattended yet again.

Me: You just did.

Enzo: Can I come up and speak man to man?

Me: Man to man? Yeah, come holla at me lil’ nigga.

I was sober within seconds. He was coming at me on some man to man shit like we had beef or something.

My blood was starting to boil if I was being real.

I gave him a job and position that put more money in his pockets than the drive-thru he was working in.

I knew niggas got beside themselves but do that sit with muthafuckas who ain’t make you.

“Aye Kong, you heard anything from Enzo since he been gone?” I had to ask and make sure I wasn’t tripping. I trusted Kong’s word before anybody else’s.

“Hell nah. His zone was doing whatever the fuck they wanted before that shit got back to me. Ain’t nobody seen or talked to that nigga.” He confirmed what I already knew.

Nodding, I tossed my phone to the side and tapped Cat on her thigh silently asking her to get up for me.

I watched Enzo cross the room. His choice of jewelry was blinding a nigga, I couldn’t lie.

All that flashy shit was what him and the other lieutenants was on.

I never had the thought of drawing so much attention my way knowing I was a nigga making millions on a monthly basis.

He stepped into my section and reached for my bottle. “I wish the fuck you would,” I said removing my gun from my waist.

“Damn. It’s like that?” he questioned. The nigga had his face scrunched up like he was offended by my reaction. If my memory served me correctly, I was the head nigga in charge.

“Where you been?” I asked straight up.

Enzo wasn’t just a regular lieutenant. He was over Zone four and that zone alone brought me in so much money Kong visited Enzo and his crew at least twice times a week for cashouts and reups.

He made more bread than all the lieutenants put together.

I was confused on what the fuck made him go ghost and not say shit.

He was moving as if he could do whatever the fuck, he damned well pleased, and that shit wasn’t sitting right with me not even a lil’.

“Visiting family,” he answered and went to reach for my bottle, yet again.

I picked up my Glock and cocked that bitch just as his finger wrapped around it. If he wanted the spotlight on him, by all means, I had no problem giving it to him. He sat back and rubbed his palms along his pants leg.

“Family, huh?” I nodded as a small grin appeared.

I must’ve had the word fool written across my forehead or something.

“You mean the sister that stay off Dunwoody or yo’ mama that’s set up downtown at the Master’s Condominiums?

I mean, I’m a lil’ confused as to why the only muthafuckas you got left calling for you to abandon my shit like the residuals from my shit ain’t what’s supplying they fuckin’ lifestyle. ”

I knew a suspicious, lying ass nigga when I saw one and Enzo fit the fuckin’ description. His focus shifted between me and Kong like my brotha was supposed to step up and protect him. I’d lay everybody in this bitch down if that ever happened.

“I ain’t got no reason to lie to you Bent. I got a cousin that passed away and we went down to attend the funeral. I helped with the preparations and shit,” he lied.

“Yo’ hoe ass mama an only child and don’t nobody know who the fuck yo’ pops is so what cousin?” You better believe I knew every muthafucka that got a dollar out of me bloodline. I was a cautious and observant nigga who refused to leave any stone unturned.

“Why the hell you questioning me like this? I came to ask you a favor and you down a nigga back!” he shouted.

Many people thought we favored, but I had yet to see it.

The nigga was way too rugged to carry any similarities.

From the way I dressed to the way I got money, he couldn’t compare.

We were of no relation, and I didn’t know this nigga from a can of paint before approximately seven years ago.

He was also two years older than me making him a pussy nigga without a plan.

He was my bastard at this point. I took care of him ‘cause his Pops damn sure ain’t care to do it.

I was on my feet with my Glock gripped tightly. By all means, talk to me with yo’ muthafuckin chest but don’t holla at me, especially when I ain’t raised my voice at you. Respect went a long way with me and this clown ass nigga ain’t have none.

The butt of my gun was raining down on his face before he could blink.

The disrespect was loud as fuck coming from him.

He ain’t give a damn ‘bout my shit so why the hell did I need to give a fuck about him as a whole. When it came to loyalty, he displayed none. I’d been suspicious for a while.

Just because he made me more bread than others didn’t mean he wasn’t disposable.

He was already replaced, so the point of his existence was null and void if you asked me.

OG could gain an unexpected guests tonight on me.

I didn’t stop beating his shit in until I was satisfied with the blood seeping from his skull. The way it stained the bottom of my Louie’s had me grinning from ear to ear. If a nigga was looking for a certified pair of red bottoms, I had them.

“Get the fuck up out my shit Enzo before yo’ mama be frying fish tomorrow,” I threatened.

Kong was signaling for security to come and drag him out. It was funny how no one was fazed by my actions. I played little to no games to begin with so anything pertaining to me was already a lane to proceed with caution.

Catalina came and stood next to me as the nigga was picked up and thrown over one of the guard’s shoulders. “Watch him Papi. He looks like the type that doesn’t let shit go,” she advised.

“Once again, who the fuck you think I am?”

I knew what was to come. Enzo was no longer on this side of the fence. He was considered a foe from here on out and come daylight, the city of Miami would know that. He wanted to play with a goon then so be it. Welcome to enemy territory bitch!
