Chapter 20
“Piper, you couldn’t get your brother out?”
“Said he was too sore. “
“That was a gnarly hit he took,” Nick tells us. He’s on his own tonight. I guess he usually is, not that I know much about his life.
I haven’t been the best at getting to know my teammates over the years. Closed off was my mantra. Until Piper. She’s changing everything about me for the better.
“He should’ve wanted to celebrate the win,” one of the guys says.
I’m not paying that much attention. Piper’s hand is on my leg, drawing small circles on the inside of my thigh. Making me crazy.
“Cash, you played great tonight,” Piper tells me, leaning into my side.
I wrap an arm around her, keeping her there. The only place I want her.
“You think so?” I ask her, twirling a lock of hair around my finger. A few of the guys came out to celebrate our big win against Edmonton. They’re one of the top teams in the league every year, and our rivalry with them is one for the ages.
Getting to win in a flurry of snow and goals?
It doesn’t get much better than that.
“A goal and an assist? You were on fire.”
Listening to Piper give me my stats is making me hard. Thank God we’re in a dark club and no one can see us.
The second we arrived, we were escorted into the VIP section. One of the perks of being a professional athlete.
Piper left her jersey in my car, stripping down to her tank and jeans. It’s nothing fancy, but she looks good. She always looks good.
“I’m surprised Cassie let me come out tonight.”
“With me and the team? Good publicity. Even I know that.”
Piper sips on her drink, and just watching that makes me crazy. Every single thing this woman does elicits a reaction. I don’t know when I became so far gone for Piper, but I am. With the All-Star Game next month, we’re racing toward the finish line of this thing between us. And I have no idea how I’m going to tell Piper I want more.
Does she want more? This isn’t something I’ve ever had to do. Telling someone my feelings? I might as well try and solve world peace.
I only hope she feels the same way.
“I’m going to hit the bathroom.”
Piper presses a kiss to my cheek before leaving my side.
I am shameless in watching her walk away. There’s a slight sashay to her hips. As if she knows I’m going to watch. A smirk plays on my lips as she disappears down the hallway with a small turn back and a wink at me.
Oh, it’s on.
“You okay, man?” someone asks from next to me. I don’t know who. Nick, maybe? I couldn’t care less. Because the only thing on my mind is Piper.
And needing to make her mine.
I swallow down the rest of my drink and stand. “Gotta hit the bathroom.”
Piper
I’m hopingCash takes the hint. I’m a live wire ready to spark. Watching Cash play tonight got me, well, horny. There’s something about the way he plays that captures my attention. His stick-handling skills? Next level. The way he can read the other team and make a play? He’s one of the best in the league.
I’m only hoping he read my hint. Because I need him right now.
“Piper.” His growl comes from down the hall as he stalks toward me. There’s a gleam in his eyes. One that says he’s going to devour me.
Grabbing my hand, he sticks his head inside the door to one of the bathrooms before pulling me inside and flipping the lock shut.
Warm lips crash down on mine the second my back hits the door. I grapple for purchase, needing to hold on to something.
“What are you doing to me?” Cash bites down on my lip, licking the sting away.
“Me? Do you know how hot watching you play makes me?”
Cash hoists me into his arms and presses his hard length between my legs.
“I’m dying, Piper. I need to be buried inside you.” His lips nibble a path down my neck to my bare collarbone. I pulled off his jersey on the way over and went with jeans and a small black camisole. His hands are drifting up the material, pulling it down over my breasts. His hands tweak my nipples the way I love. I’ve never been well endowed, but Cash doesn’t care. He loves my chest and lavishes it with attention. But right now, that’s not where I want it.
Fisting my hands in his hair, I pull his face level to mine.
“What’s stopping you? Fuck me, Cash.”
It’s the words I know he loves to hear.
An animalistic sound escapes his lips as he sets me on my feet and takes a step back. His dick is hard in his jeans.
I lick my lips, staring at him in his tight black tee. The dark blue lights of the bathroom make him look dangerous. Except I know the real Cash. And I’ve never felt safer.
Music booms loud outside the door, matching the beat of my heart.
“Take it out.”
I take heed of his words. Rubbing my palm over his bulging erection, I pop open the button of his jeans and pull down the zipper. My gaze doesn’t stray from his. His eyes are dark, full of a fire and the same lust that is coursing through me. Shoving the material open, I pull out his long, hard dick. I give it a slow stroke.
“Keep doing that,” Cash tells me before pulling me in for another bruising kiss.
His tongue invades my mouth. It has me rubbing my legs together. I need the friction. Need something to quell the desire that’s threatening to burst out of me.
“Do you know how sweet you taste? This fucking bourbon of yours.”
He’s drinking me in. Sipping on my tongue. Taking everything I’m giving him.
I’m dizzy with lust. The way his mouth claims mine is tipping me toward the edge.
“Now, Cash. I can’t take it anymore.”
Cash spins me and put my hands on the sink. Graffiti paints the walls. Colors bursting and mixing together. Our eyes lock in the mirror as he undoes my jeans and shoves them down my thighs. My breasts are hanging out of my cami. I look ravaged. Utterly destroyed by the man who I am falling for.
Cash steps in behind me, sliding his dick through my ass cheeks.
“Do you know how fucking hot you are? What you do to me?” Strong hands drift up my chest as he pulls me back against him.
I press my bare ass into him, urging him on.
“I think I know.”
Cash slips between my legs, pistoning his hips forward. The pierced head comes into view.
“Hands on the sink, Princess.”
I do as he says before he slams inside me.
“Cash!” I scream. I don’t even try to keep my voice down. Not a soul could hear over the music, even if they had their ear pressed up against the door.
His hand snakes into my hair and pulls my gaze to his. Not that I could look away if I tried.
Cash sets a grueling pace. Every drag of those piercings inside me amps me up.
The pressure builds. My skin feels too tight.
“You’re so good at taking my cock, Princess. The way you let me fuck you. Perfect. Absolutely perfect.”
It’s his words that send me barreling over the cliff. The colors of the bathroom explode behind my eyes as I come. And come. Shooting off like a rocket into the stars.
Cash doesn’t let up as he keeps going before he stills.
I don’t know if I’ll ever get used to the feeling of him bare inside me. The way it feels to have him fill me up with his cum.
I want it every day. Every day I can have him.
“Cash.”
He presses a kiss to my neck, slipping out of me.
Cash’s hands are tender as he puts me back together, pulling my underwear and jeans back up before tucking himself away.
My focus comes back down to earth. I look well fucked. There’s no other way to describe it.
Cash wraps his arms around my waist and holds me. His eyes stay on me.
Like this, together, we fit. I don’t see the bad guy he says he is. I don’t see the princess he claims I am.
We’re Cash and Piper.
The man I’m falling for and want to be with. For longer than the time we’ve been given. I want it to stay this way.
“I’m glad you came,” he whispers.
“Me too.” I turn, resting my ass against the sink. “You looked great out there. If you don’t make it to the All-Star Game, you’ve been robbed.”
“We’ll see.”
“I’ll campaign on your behalf.”
Cash laughs. “Calm down, Princess. If I don’t make it, it’s just a week I get to spend with you.”
“A full week of just us? Maybe I should campaign they don’t invite you.”
Cash leans down to kiss me. “You’re so easy to read.”
“I just want you.”
Only him.
Only Cash.
Just…him.
He’s burrowed his way inside me and I don’t know how I’m supposed to let him go in a few weeks’ time.
“We better get back out there.” One last kiss before he’s peeking his head out into the hall. “Coast is clear.”
Thank God for the privacy of the VIP section. I don’t care if anyone would have seen us, but we have to be cautious about Cash’s image. Even if he’s had glowing articles written about him in the paper.
I don’t think Cassie would approve of a sex scandal.
Right now, none of that matters.
Cash is what matters most.
Only Cash.
