Chapter 13 A Meaningful Sentence
One sentence carried a lot of weight.
My face burned with embarrassment as I listened. So... so I really had been too full of myself!
Of course.
I was just a Fan Editor. Why would an idol’s own brother personally step in to maintain the connection? This wasn’t some male streamer taking care of his top donor.
It was my fault.
After following Zheng Fengchen for three years and witnessing too many of his shady moves, I had assumed every struggling Obscure Idol operated the same way.
"Xia Yuqing actually only likes playing rock." Xia Yulie softened his tone. "If he wanted to blow up, signing with an entertainment company would be easier. But he’s quite satisfied with how things are now."
He could still perform, release albums, and didn’t care how many Fans he had. Doing what he loved was enough.
Xia Yulie hesitated for a rare moment.
"Bai Zhu, I’m actually not part of Xia Yuqing’s Studio."
"The way I got to know you wasn’t exactly honorable either, but... can you give me a chance?"
Such a straightforward confession made my face even redder.
"What... what kind of relationship?"
"A relationship where you don’t have to post Videos anymore, and I’ll still give you all the benefits."
He leaned in too close.
The apron he hadn’t taken off after cooking soup made him look even more like a husband.
Thump. Thump. Thump.
I could hear my own heart pounding wildly.
At this moment, private messages on my account kept popping up nonstop, filled with curses.
Even my personal contact information had been dug up and bombarded by acquaintances.
"Wait a second!"
I pushed him away abruptly.
"We’ll talk about this later. I need to deal with my personal reputation first!"
