Chapter 49

CHAPTER 49

Issa

I had only gotten through a few of the presents in the two days since our wedding. Most of them were simple, things like crystalware, jewelry, and such. There was also a load of envelopes that felt thicker than they should have if they’d only contained simple cards, making me worry his family had stuffed money in them.

Today, we were heading to Amir’s family’s home. My new family’s home.

A smile pulled up my lips as I braided my hair away from my face then applied a coat of mascara.

“You almost ready, sweetheart?” Cyrus asked from the bathroom door.

“Yep. Just got to put my shoes on,” I answered.

My guys were all in jeans, t-shirts, and hoodies since the weather had taken a turn toward cooler since it was still early spring.

I was dressed similarly but had chosen a sweater over a tank top instead of a hoodie .

Cyrus leaned against the door, his arms crossed over his chest, and watched me with a sweet smile.

“What are you looking at?” I teased him as I tugged on my boots.

Amir had bought them for me as a prewedding gift after the last time I’d gone to his parents and ended up stepping in a steaming pile of horse poo. We’d all gotten a good laugh at that, especially me when I whined so much Amir had ended up cleaning said poo from the bottoms of my sneakers.

“Why do you look so fucking hot in everything you wear?” Ax said as he pushed past Cyrus to get to me.

He instantly bent me backward over his arm and started nibbling on my neck, sending chill bumps rising across my body when he brushed across any of my bonding marks.

“We’re going to be late!” Enzo called from downstairs.

I swatted at Ax, trying to wiggle from his hold. Instead, he lifted me in his arms and carried me bridal style from the room and down the stairs like I weighed nothing.

“Can’t have you scuffing up your new boots now, can we?” he said as he ran his chin over the top of my head.

“They’re supposed to get scuffed, dumbass. They’re for stomping around in mud and horse shit,” Enzo grumbled.

“Nice,” Cyrus said with a shake of his head.

Amir had a few gifts stacked in his arms as he waited near the garage door for us with a smile adorning his gorgeous face.

“Are we opening more gifts at your parents’?”

He shrugged up one shoulder. “Mom said something about wanting to see you open a few of these.”

“She worried about what the rest of your family sent?” I joked as Ax set me down in the back seat of the SUV before climbing in beside me.

So far, the few things we’d opened had been beautiful and innocent.

“Something like that,” he said after depositing the boxes into the hatchback and taking his place on my left .

Both Ax and Amir had their fingers twined through mine, resting my hands on their thighs so my arms were spread out. I liked it so much better when we were all piled together on the bed or even the couch.

But I loved their touch, regardless.

Amini and Annalise were outside playing when Enzo pulled the SUV to a spot beside the other vehicles. All three of Amir’s parents were home as well as his sisters being as it was the weekend, and this was a mini family get together.

Unlike the other times when we’d arrived, Amini and Annalise simply raised their heads and looked in our direction with smiles. I’d grown used to them squealing and giggling with joy and running at us the moment we pushed open our doors.

“There’s something else I wanted to tell you. Or rather give you,” Cyrus said.

“ We wanted to give you,” Ax corrected.

I looked from Cyrus to Ax and back. “What do you mean?”

Amir opened his door and stepped out, offering me his hand and leading me to the fence keeping the horses from running loose. Our alphas flanked us on both sides and little feet hit the ground hard as Amir’s two youngest sisters ran to catch up.

“What are we doing?” I asked.

We were here to visit with his parents, yet I was being led to the pasture.

Amir smiled and jerked his head toward where Princess Fancy Pants and Pearl paced and waited to see if we had treats for them.

When I turned my head toward the mares, I realized there were two more horses grazing nearby, one so black it was almost blue, the other a tiny bit smaller and brown with white fur around its legs like socks.

“What…” I couldn’t form the question.

“These are our wedding gifts to the two of you,” Cyrus answered my unspoken question.

“Wedding gifts?” I asked when I struggled to make sense of what he was saying and what I was seeing .

There were only two horses here before. I knew that because I’d asked. I’d ridden with Amir the day he’d proposed to me.

“You get your pick of the two,” Amir said. “The alphas wanted to get us both something and saw how you lit up with the horses.”

“We’ve already hired someone to set up the property with secure fencing, build a barn with stalls, the whole shebang,” Ax said.

“What?”

The guys exchanged a look.

“You okay, baby girl?” Ax asked, a crooked grin pulling up one side of his lips.

“You got me a horse? You got us horses? As a wedding gift?”

I felt silly repeating the facts back to them, but I was having a hard time making it all make sense.

Moving closer to the fence, I stared at the two new additions and smiled as they both sauntered over, the smaller of the two making a beeline straight to me and nudging her way past Pearl and Princess to stop directly in front of me as though claiming me.

Just like my alphas had done before I’d acknowledged it.

Tears blurred in my eyes as I lifted my hand and rubbed between her ears.

“What are you going to name her?” Amir asked as he wrapped his arms around me from behind, his chin resting on my shoulder.

“I have no idea,” I said through a watery laugh. “Maybe I’ll let your sisters come up with something.”

“You realize his sisters are the ones who came up with Princess Fancy Pants, right?” Enzo teased.

“I can’t believe you got me a freaking horse,” I said as realization and excitement settled in and pushed away the disbelief and shock. “I love you guys so much.”

Leaning my head back, I dropped it against Amir’s shoulder as he nuzzled my neck and I continued to scratch my horse between her ears.

I really did need to come up with a name for her so I wasn’t constantly referring to her as my horse .

“I literally know nothing about taking care of her,” I said, looking at first Amir over my shoulder than to each of my alphas.

“I do. And we’ve hired a ranch hand to help out during my heats or if we need to go out of town for anything.”

A giggle burst from my lips. “You hired a ranch hand? For two freaking horses?”

It was all so absurd and over the top.

But couldn’t the same thing be said about my pack?

After all, I had a beautiful omega who had taught me how to love and be loved, who taught me how to ask for what I want. I had three alphas who were fully devoted to both Amir and me, not just our omega.

I had an alpha who danced like he was part cat, part water, and a whole lot of parts sex god. I had an alpha who was so freaking sweet and patient and kind. I had an alpha who would literally rip his chest open and present his heart to me. To any of us, really.

In a year, I had gone from a broken beta who didn’t believe I was worth more than my past to a beta with four men who loved me and had zero problem showing me every day.

I was officially married, was officially Isabelle Rivera of Pack Rivera, and was building a close relationship with my sister after being estranged most our lives.

In a year…I had been gifted with the most perfect pack and the most beautifully perfect life I could have ever dreamed possible.
