Chapter 240
“Isn’t that Khloe?”
Angela’s voice sharpened immediately the moment she spotted the figure near the private exit.
Her grip tightened unconsciously on Trey’s sleeve. Of all places, of all nights—why was it always Khloe?
A cold suspicion flickered in her chest.
Was Khloe following them?
On the surface, she claimed indifference, even spoke of separation. Yet she demanded shares, refused to cut ties cleanly, and kept resurfacing wherever Trey appeared. Angela’s frustration twisted into contempt.
Scheming. Persistent. Impossible to shake off.
Trey followed her gaze.
And the moment he saw Khloe, everything else faded.
“Stay in the car,” he said abruptly. “I’ll go.”
Before Angela could respond, he was already walking away.
“Trey—!”
But he didn’t stop.
—
Khloe had just settled into the driver’s seat when the car door was suddenly yanked open.
Cold air rushed in.
A familiar hand gripped the edge of the door—expensive watch, wedding band, the same hand she had once held without hesitation.
“Trey Fox.”
His voice was tight, breath uneven, as if he had been running.
“You’re really here.”
For a second, his anger wavered the moment their eyes met.
She was exactly as he remembered—and yet not at all.
Collected. Distant. Untouchable.
Her hair was loosely pinned with diamond clips, soft waves falling over her shoulders. The ivory dress she wore was understated but unmistakably expensive, every detail quietly refined. No loud luxury, only quiet authority.
And then he saw it.
The ring.
A large diamond, catching the garage lights like a shard of ice.
His expression darkened instantly.
Trey’s hand shot forward and grabbed her wrist.
“What is this?” His voice rose. “Where is your wedding ring? What happened to the Fox ring?”
Khloe’s brows tightened. “Let go of me.”
But he didn’t.
His grip only tightened as his gaze fixed on the diamond.
“So it’s true…” His voice turned sharper. “You’ve got another man now?”
Khloe tried to pull away again, irritation flashing across her face.
“Trey, stop—”
He didn’t hear her.
The moment she shoved the car door, his arm was caught between the frame.
“—!”
A sharp hiss of pain escaped him as he recoiled, letting go instinctively.
Khloe didn’t wait.
She immediately reached for the ignition.
But Trey stepped forward again, planting himself directly in front of the car.
“Khloe!” His voice cracked with fury. “Get out. Explain this to me. What did I do wrong?”
His chest rose and fell heavily.
“All these years—do you think it was easy for me?” he continued, voice roughening. “I fought my family for you. I built everything from nothing just to stand beside you. And this is what you do?”
His eyes were red now, not from tears—but from anger he could no longer contain.
“You’re cheating on me? Do you even have a conscience?”
The words echoed through the empty garage.
Khloe remained seated behind the wheel, expression unreadable.
Trey slammed his fist onto the hood of the car.
The metallic thud rang out.
“Khloe,” he said again, lower now, dangerous. “This is your last chance.”
He leaned forward slightly, breathing hard.
“Get out. Admit you were wrong. And I might still forgive you.”
A pause.
Then his voice turned colder.
“Otherwise, don’t blame me.”
His gaze hardened.
“No more Fox shares. No more marriage. From this moment on—you’re nothing to the Fox family.”
His hand tightened at his side.
“You won’t get a single thing from me.”
