CHAPTER 6

Prisha was standing in front of the Rawat mansion, where the Devil of her life lives. Her heart raced with fear. How would she live here with him? Would he torture her again? Negative thoughts swirled in her mind.

Tina's voice snapped her out of her trance. "Prisha, let's go." Prisha nodded and reached for her luggage, but Tina stopped her with a haughty tone, "No need for that. Servants are here. Remember, this is not your middle-class house. Don’t do anything to embarrass me." Prisha felt bad hearing her tone, she lowered her gaze, and silently followed her sister.

Tina called one of the maids with an air of superiority. "Jasmine, she is my sister. She’ll be staying for a few days. Show her to the guest room and then bring me coffee." With that, she walked to her room. Prisha was taken aback by her sister's behavior. Tina had never been like this; she used to be so kind and polite. Shrugging off her thoughts, Prisha followed Jasmine to the guest room.

The room was huge and elegantly furnished. Prisha was mesmerized by its beauty. Jasmine interrupted her admiration. "Ma’am, do you need anything?"

Prisha smiled and shook her head. "No Aunty, I don’t need anything. Thank you for asking. And please, call me Prisha. 'Ma’am' makes me feel old." Jasmine chuckled, charmed by Prisha's innocent and pure-hearted demeanor.

Night,

Prisha arrived at the dining table with a smile. She was relieved to hear that Shaurya had gone on a trip with his friends. She prayed he wouldn't return for at least 15 days. As she sat down, Shaurya’s mother asked kindly, "Prisha, are you comfortable here?"

Prisha nodded and smiled. "Yes, I am. Thank you for letting me stay."

Shaurya’s father looked at his wife and asked, "Where is your son?"

"He went on a trip " she replied slowly. Shaurya’s father shook his head in disappointment. "Your son knows nothing but traveling and wasting my money. Look at Rakesh, still attending meetings. Tell Shaurya to join the office when he returns. I’m not paying him anymore. He needs to earn." His mother nodded in agreement.

After dinner, Prisha changed her clothes, prayed to God, and drifted off to sleep, hoping for a peaceful stay without any more turmoil.

Three days passed peacefully for Prisha; she was relieved, thinking Shaurya was not there. She was praying he wouldn’t return before she left, but she didn’t know her happiness was short-lived.

She was eating lunch with his family. She was about to put a morsel in her mouth but stopped, hearing a dominant voice, “Jasmine Aunty, coffee for me.”

“Hey, son, why did you wake up so early? It’s only 1 PM. You worked so hard, spending your father’s money is such a difficult task,” Shaurya heard his father's taunting voice. Shaurya sighed and didn’t reply.

He then heard his father's angry voice, “When will you change your rich, spoiled brat attitude? Look at Rakesh, he took half of my responsibility when he was your age, and you are spoiling your life.” Shaurya clenched his jaw hearing him; it was normal thing in this house, but every time he compared him to Rakesh, it hurt.

He was going to his room when his gaze fell on Prisha, who was looking at her plate. He could see fear on her face. He asked angrily, “What are you doing here in my house?”

Prisha flinched hearing his shout; tears started forming in her eyes. Tina interrupted and said, “Shaurya, what are you doing? She is my sister.”

“Shut up! I am not talking to you.” He snapped at Tina and turned to Prisha and shouted," Get out of my house.”

“Shaurya, behave yourself,” his father warned.

“Dad, I don’t want to listen to anything. Ask her to leave my house,” he said while glaring at Prisha with fury.

"This is my house, and Prisha is my guest. Don't you dare speak to her like that. If you have a problem, you can leave. And this is my last warning: if you mistreat Prisha again, I'll kick you out," his father said firmly. Shaurya shot Prisha a venomous look and stormed off to his room.

He was pacing in his room angrily. He kickedchair with his leg and shouted, “ It was these sisters' plan to trap me. She was here to blackmail me. I will not let them win.”He grabbed a bottle and took a long swig, trying to calm his rage.

Prisha closed the door carefully; she was feeling scared. Seeing his reaction, she was not getting a good vibe. She knew he would do something that would again disturb her life. It was 2 AM, and she was still thinking about him when she heard a knock on the door. She started shivering with fear; somewhere she knew it was Shaurya. He must be here to take revenge on her. She ignored the knock and tried to sleep.

She sighed in relief when the knocking stopped, but her happiness was short-lived as Shaurya entered the room. She asked, horrified, “How did you come inside?”

“With a duplicate key. Did you forget this is my house?” he said sarcastically.

She jumped out of the bed and asked, “What are you doing here? Please go, otherwise I will shout.”

Shaurya chuckled and said while locking the door, “No need to waste your energy and time. This room is soundproof.” Saying this, he slowly walked toward her like a predator moving toward prey. Unconsciously, Prisha started taking backward steps; she kept moving until her back touched the wall. Before she could do anything, he trapped her between his arms and said, “Stop your acting. I know you came here with a plan. And I have decided I will do what you want."

“Please leave me. I will go from here. Please leave me,” she said while tears were rolling down her cheeks.

Shaurya smirked and said, “Stop your acting; I know you came here to blackmail me. You came here to tell Dad about our marriage. Isn’t it?”

Prisha shook her head, “No, this is not true. I am here—”

Shaurya interrupted her and said, “Shut up!”

Suddenly he changed his tone and said in a husky voice, “I have decided to fulfill your dream, to accept you as my wife.” Saying this, he slowly started leaning toward her lips, shocking her.

“What are you doing?” she stammered.

“Accepting you as my wife by consummating our marriage,” he said in a husky voice and started leaning toward her lips. Prisha started pushing him, trying to escape his hold, but all in vain. He grabbed her waist and was about to kiss her when she joined her hands and pleaded, crying, “Please don’t do this. Please.”

Suddenly he jerked away, and she collapsed to the ground, bursting into tears. His expression softened seeing her condition, but he hardened his gaze again and said in a warning tone, “Remember, if anyone finds out about our fake marriage, I will drag you to my room and claim you as my wife. And if you think you will enjoy life as my wife, you are wrong. I will make your life a living hell.” Saying this, he left while she kept crying, hugging her knees.
