Epilogue

Hester | Edinburgh, present day

THREE MONTHS LATER

‘Has anyone seen my passport?’ screeches Sadie. She whips past the lounge in a blur of Burberry, heels clicking down the hallway, trench coat-tails flying. ‘It’s almost time to go, and I left it on the sideboard. Right here!’

‘Calm down, I’ve got it!’ Elliott calls out to her.

The rest of us are having a last-minute Bloody Mary before we head to the airport for our night flight. As I sip, I stroke the back of Will’s hand, and he gives me a small smile. It’s going to be a long journey without sustenance. Or touching you.

I smile back. Possibly a good thing. We don’t want to reenact Snakes on a Plane. But I know you’ll be fine.

He chuckles. I love you, and your faith in me.

I love you, and the fact you sprung for an upgrade with a king-size bed.

Well, I was going to book the Honeymoon Suite, but I don’t think Sadie and Elliott would have appreciated us nabbing that—

Sadie’s head suddenly pokes into the lounge.

‘What are you all doing sitting around? The black cab will be here soon!’

‘Shit,’ says Damian, draining the rest of his glass. ‘And I’m not even packed.’

Floss giggles, and Sadie rolls her eyes. ‘Whose idea was it for you lot to come on our honeymoon again?’ she asks.

‘Uh, that would be me,’ says Elliott, standing up and crossing over to her. ‘I thought everyone could use some R he was lucky to have me as his furry editor to sort things out ...

In the meantime, I’m looking forward to a relaxing few weeks in a picturesque European locale where vampires are well catered for.

‘Ready, ladies?’ I ask, linking arms with my besties.

‘Ready as we’ll ever be,’ says Sadie, and Floss nods, smiling.

We slide our sunglasses on in one smooth, practised motion and join the rest of our coven.

Transylvania, here we come!
