Chapter Sixteen

Blade

Waking up the other morning on Blaze’s sofa with Sera tucked against me shouldn’t have felt as good as it did. It’s not like we slept in a comfortable position, but I honestly didn’t care. Waking up with her just felt right. I’ve never felt that way about anyone else I’ve woken up next to before, and it just makes me even more certain she’s meant to be mine. As soon as Cam’s party is over, I plan on doing something about it. I want to be with her, and I need to make my move before someone else does. But for now, it’s time to focus on Cam and his first birthday with us.

I think the whole MC might just be gathered in The Common Room, waiting for Cam, Wrath, and Flame to arrive. It”s definitely a sight to behold. Flame texted us all that they”d be here shortly; he was just waiting for Cam and Wrath to finish getting ready as they had spent longer out riding Cam”s bike than they had originally planned, so we”re running late. None of us had an issue as long as Cam was enjoying his day; it”s all any of us want because if anyone deserves it, it”s him.

I”m currently standing with Wreck and Shadow. Shadow is showing us the video Flame sent him of Cam”s reaction when he saw his bike for the first time. It”s both beautiful and heartbreaking to watch because, as you can see by his reaction, he”s never had anything that means so much given to him before. It clearly means everything to him. As the video finishes, we all look up because we hear the door open, and Cam walks through with Wrath and Flame behind him.

“HAPPY BIRTHDAY, CAM!” The whole room shouts, and Cam”s eyes grow wide in shock.

I don”t think he was expecting so many people to be here. I think the only people missing are Mama June because she”s still on her world cruise. She hasn”t had the pleasure of meeting Cam yet, but when she does, that boy isn”t going to know what hit him. Then Flash and Jake are also missing, Jake due to his injuries, and Flash because there”s not a chance in hell he”s leaving the side of the man who nearly died to protect him.

We all laugh because his face always shows everything he”s feeling; he wears his heart on his sleeve. A lot like his Uncle does. There”s a table full of presents for him to open, so Wrath and Flame guide him in that direction. When he gets a look at how many presents he”s got, he looks around us all in shock.

“Go on, open them, Cam. They”re all for you!” Shadow shouts at him from next to me.

That seems to snap Cam back to it, and he takes a seat and starts opening his presents. It takes him a good hour to open everything on the table and to find each person in the room and thank them for what they brought him before he opens the next present. He”s had everything from clothes and shoes to a new phone from Shadow because, according to Shadow, everyone needs the newest phone and more gaming systems than I realized existed.

I notice Sera walking towards Cam once he”s finished opening everything and head in their direction because I”m intrigued by what she”s got in her hand.

“Hey Cam, I”ve got one more present here for you, but it”s not wrapped. I hope that”s okay.” She says as she holds out a piece of paper to him.

“Of course it is Aunt Sera.” He tells her with a smile while he grabs the paper and then flips it over. We all gasp at what is on it.

It”s a drawing; she”s obviously done, as her name is signed in the corner. It”s a detailed sketch of Cam standing in the middle of Wrath and Flame, who have their arms around his shoulders, but she”s drawn Cam wearing a kutte with the road name Mini Wrath on it. Oh wow, it looks so fucking good. I didn”t realize she could draw, and she”s fucking talented. Even I, with not one artistic bone in my body, can tell that.

“This is amazing, Aunt Sera. Thank you so much. I”m going to get a frame and put it up in my room.”

“I”m glad you like it, Cam.” She says with a genuine smile.

“Fucking hell. Is that what you were drawing the other day that you wouldn”t let me see? It”s fucking amazing. You are seriously talented.” Shadow exclaims.

”Yep, I told you you”d see it eventually, didn’t I?” She says with a smirk.

“That you did.” He then takes a deep breath and nearly deafens us all, shouting, “WRECK!”

I should have guessed he”d do that after seeing her talent. Wreck comes running over and stops by Shadow.

“You bellowed.” He says to Shadow, making me laugh.

“Look what Sera did for Cam.” He says and points to the paper in Cam”s hand.

Wreck looks over, and his eyes grow wide when he takes in what she”s done. Yeah, Wreck is an artist in his own right, and if anyone is going to appreciate and fully understand her talent, it”s him.

“Fuck, Cam, can I have a closer look, please?” He”s practically begging him.

Cam just nods and holds the paper out to him. Wreck grabs it carefully before plopping down in an empty seat. He hasn”t taken his eyes off the page; he”s taking in every little detail and assessing it all. Once he”s finished, he looks up at Sera.

“Girl, you are one of the most talented artists I”ve ever met. Fuck, I wish I could draw portraits like this. I”ve never seen anything like it.” The awe in his voice is something none of us have ever heard from him before.

I look at Sera, and her cheeks have gone pink from embarrassment.

“Thank you. That”s actually the first time I”ve ever let anyone see my art. So it”s very much appreciated that you”d say something like that.”

“If you ever want to turn your skills toward becoming a tattoo artist, let me know; I”d take you on as my apprentice without a second thought. With this level of skill on paper, if you transferred it to skin, you”d become one of the best portrait tattooists in the country.”

He”s being totally honest in his opinion right now, he”d never lie to her about something like this. When it comes to anything to do with tattooing, he”s always totally serious and honest.

“Are you being serious right now?”

“100% I”d never lie about something like this. If you could do that on someone”s skin, you”d have a never-ending supply of customers.”

“I”d love to do it; tattooing has always interested me, but I never thought it was something I could do, not with the way my life was back home.”

Wreck stands up and engulfs her in a hug before pulling back. “Come sit with me when you have a minute, and we”ll talk more. I”ll be over at the bar when you”re ready, but trust me, I”d fucking love to teach you.”

He then walks off with a massive, cocky grin on his face, and I get why he”s just found his unicorn. He”s always wanted to find someone super talented he could train. That”s why he”s never taken an apprentice before; he was waiting to find the perfect one.

Sera sits down in the seat Wreck just vacated and looks at us all with wide eyes. “Did that really just happen?” She whispers.

”Yep, and I don”t think you realize how big that really was. He”s never taken an apprentice before, sis; he said he never would unless he found his talented unicorn. You”re what he”s been waiting for. You couldn”t find a better teacher either; he”ll never say it, but he”s one of the best tattoo artists in the country. He”s got a crazy amount of awards for his past work and in competitions.” Shadow tells her seriously. He knows what he”s talking about; Wreck is his best friend after all, and if anyone is going to know the truth, it”s him.

“Wow. I think I”m in shock. I never expected that sort of reaction to my sketch; I just wanted to do something nice for Cam.”

“Take a minute and let it sink in, and then go talk to him. You won”t regret it.” I tell her with a smile.

She just nods her head and sits there, lost in thought. The rest of us leave her alone to process what just happened. I”m happy for her. I knew she was special, and it looks like I was right.
