Chapter Thirty-Three
Sera
Waking up tangled with the man I love more than life itself is the best feeling in the world. I’m looking forward to experiencing this every day for the rest of our lives, but I’m never going to take it for granted. I’m determined to show him every day for the rest of our lives, just how much I love that he took this chance with me.
However, there is something I need to talk to Blade about. That conversation I overheard between Wrath and Flame the day I was there to support Wreck. It’s been playing on my mind since I heard it. Now is the first chance I”ve had to talk to Blade about my idea. I need his honest opinion about what I’m thinking, because it’s going to affect him just as much as me.
“Blade?”
“Yes Angel.”
“I need to talk to you about something.” I say nervously.
“Whatever it is, you don’t need to sound so nervous.” God, I love how much he immediately tries to reassure me, even without knowing what I need to talk to him about.
“I kinda do. I overheard something between Wrath and Flame, and even though I know I shouldn’t really say anything to you, I need to discuss an idea I had with you.”
“Go on, Angel.” He says encouragingly.
“They want another kid, and from what I heard, they’re struggling to not only find a surrogate but an egg donor too.” I take a breath before continuing, “I want to offer both to them. If they use my egg, then the child will be the closest they can ever get to being biologically both theirs, and if I carry the baby, they get to experience everything. I want to help them; I hate that they can”t easily expand their family.”
I look up at Blade after I finish speaking, worried about what his reaction will be. By the looks of it, I have nothing to worry about. His eyes are filled with nothing but pride and awe.
“Angel, you’re one in a million. Talk to them; I think what you’re offering is the most selfless and amazing thing you could do for them. You have my full support. We”re not ready for kids yet, but they want more. Do what you feel you need to do, Angel. I’ll be with you every step of the way.”
Moving over him, I straddle his waist and kiss the hell out of him. I’m so glad he doesn’t have an issue with my plan; most men would. But not mine. Mine is far too amazing for that. I”ll never take him for granted, that”s for sure. What I’m offering to do for Wrath and Flame isn’t some small thing; it’s life-changing for everyone involved. I’m so happy Blade understands why I want to do this and supports me. I really hope Wrath and Flame agree.
Pulling back from the kiss, I roll off Blade before we end up going for round two. Now that I”ve spoken to Blade, I want to talk to Wrath and Flame. If they accept my offer, I know it won”t be a quick and easy process. I want to get the ball rolling as soon as possible. They’ve waited long enough to grow their family.
I don’t say anything to Blade as I start pulling my clothes on as fast as I can. I can see him smiling at me lovingly as he gets up and starts getting dressed too. Grabbing my phone, I check to see if I’ve missed any messages while I’ve been wrapped up in Blade, and I see I have. Tech has messaged about a meeting that still isn’t for another hour, but I’m sure Wrath won’t mind me coming to see him a little early. Especially with what I want to talk to him about.
When I look over at Blade, I see he’s now fully dressed and waiting for me. Sliding my phone into my pocket, I hold my hand out for Blade. He comes and grabs it, and we leave, heading to speak to my brother and hopefully change his life.
It doesn’t take us long to get to Wrath’s office, and now that we’re here, I’m starting to feel a little nervous. I hope he’s not mad that I overheard something private between him and Flame. Hopefully, what I have to offer makes overhearing it worthwhile.
“Calm down. Everything will be fine.” Blade whispers as he knocks on the door. God, I hope he’s right. I really don’t want an issue with my brother so early in our relationship.
“Come in!” Wrath shouts from inside.
Taking one final deep breath, I open the door and step inside, pulling Blade with me. Wrath is actually on his own, and as much as I’d like Flame here for this conversation, I’ll take just talking to Wrath.
”Hey, you two. You’re early.” He says in greeting.
“Yeah, I was hoping I could talk to you about something.” I say as I take a seat in front of his desk, without releasing Blade’s hand.
Wrath stops what he’s doing and gives me his full attention. He”s looking a little worried, no doubt, because all he’s had to deal with lately is situation after situation.
“So, I need to start by saying I overheard a conversation between you and Flame that was clearly private, and I’m sorry about that, but I’m not sorry I heard.”
“What did you hear, Sera?” Wrath asks cautiously.
“About the troubles you’re having expanding your family, and before you say anything. The only person I have spoken to about it is Blade, and that’s only because I want to offer you something but couldn”t, in good conscience, do it without speaking to him first.”
“I’m listening.”
“I want to offer to not only donate my eggs to you and Flame but also be your surrogate. I fucking hate how hard it is for you to grow your family Wrath. You and Flame are already amazing parents; you deserve another child if that’s what you want. I want to help you.”
Wrath’s eyes have gone comically wide, and his mouth has dropped open. It’s obvious he’s in shock. Blinking a few times, he seems to gain some composure back.
“Are you being serious right now?” He asks, his voice full of awe.
”Yeah, I am. Talk to Flame and let me know what you decide.”
Getting up, Wrath walks around, bends over, and hugs me tight. I return the hug; it’s clear that what I’ve said means a lot to him. When he pulls back, he’s got tears in his eyes, but I don’t acknowledge them. He’s entitled to feel however he feels.
“Thank you. After our meeting, I’ll talk to Flame and let you know what we decide. But Sera, I can never thank you enough for even just making this offer. What you’re offering us is a fucking dream.”
“You’re welcome.”
Just as Wrath walks back around his desk, there’s another knock on his door.
“Come in!” He shouts again.
The door opens, and everyone starts filing in. Shadow, Flame, Eagle, Piston, Ink, Rock, and even Wreck all somehow manage to squeeze inside the office. It’s a tight squeeze, and to give them all a little more space, I move and sit myself on Blade’s lap. He doesn’t seem to mind one bit, wrapping his arms around my waist and tucking his head against my neck.
I fucking love this. I’ve never felt safer or more loved than I do being with him. I’m seriously fucking lucky.
