Thirty-Three | Cassidy

“Hello! I missed you , too,” I said, rubbing the top of Max’s head as he jumped up and held onto me the best he could the second I walked into the house.

“Traitor,” Sean teased, shaking his head at his dog, who was obsessively following me into the living room while Sean worked on bringing our stuff in from the car.

“He’s not a traitor. He just loves me. You can’t blame him for that.”

“No. You’re right. I can’t blame him for that, but I can be jealous of him trying to steal you away from me.”

“Trust me, you have nothing to worry about. I love you both equally.”

“Ouch,” he said, holding a hand to his chest as if I’d hurt him. “I was kinda hoping that you would love me more than him.”

“I don’t want to hurt his feelings,” I whispered while covering his cute little ears with my hands.

“I would say you won’t, but he’s seriously the most emotional and needy dog I’ve ever met.”

I laughed and gave Max another head scratch before going to the kitchen, where Sean was putting the leftovers my mom sent with us in the fridge. It had been a long—but fun—day and I was ready to just sit down and relax. It felt weird not having a gift for Sean, but it wasn’t like we expected to get back together a few days before Christmas.

“So, what do you want to do tonight?” he asked, wrapping his arms around my waist and kissing my neck.

I let out a soft moan and closed my eyes as he grabbed a handful of my ass.

“This,” I whispered.

“Make out in my kitchen?” he teased.

“As long as it leads to you fucking me, then yes.”

“Such a naughty mouth.”

“And I know exactly what to do with it.” I opened my eyes and looked up at him, batting them.

“Is that my next gift?” he asked, his eyes darkening as his voice deepened.

“Well, you know how I like to give the gift that keeps on giving.”

I winked and chewed my lower lip, giggling when he picked me up and carried me to his bedroom caveman style. Things with Sean had been strained for so long, but now that all of that was in the past, it was time for us to move forward and celebrate our love for each other.
