Chapter 12
Twelve
TRULY
My heartbeat was painfully loud as I stared at Bleu while keeping my hand on Aubry’s arm. Bleu stood in my living room like he owned the space and the oxygen that circulated around us. I couldn’t breathe properly even if I tried to.
This man really brought my shopping bags and came to my fucking house!
I hated that his boldness turned me on at the wrong damn time.
He was squared up in a stare off with Aubry looking good as hell.
Everything about him stood out in this house.
His sharp wrinkle free navy-blue tailored suit.
The confidence that radiated off of him and the way the natural light in the house caught the edges of his tattoos on his neck and wrists each time he moved.
“This what you want to show our daughter, Truly?” Aubry turned to me and shot me a nasty glare.
“Nah, she wants to show y’all daughter how a real man is supposed act while being in her presence.” Bleu voice broke the tension between Aubry and I.
My pussy clenched from the deep base of his voice. It’s like he picked up on all of my nervousness and stepped up to reassure me that he had my back fully.
But why? I licked my moist lips and batted my eyes up at Aubry. He must’ve seen the triumph in my eyes because he quickly shrugged my hand off of his arm then spun wildly on his heels to face Bleu.
“Lo Lo is right in the kitchen. My mom should be coming home any moment, and she won’t hesitate to call the police, so—”
“And that man is supposed to be you?” Aubry asked Bleu cutting me off.
“It is me, in the flesh. Come here, Tru.” Bleu voice softened.
My feet had a mind of their own, I picked up my feet and walked over to Bleu holding my breath.
When I reached him, it felt like time stood still.
I felt secure soon as his strong arm grazed across my lower back.
His hand slid across my hip then gripped the center of my stomach.
I grew weak in the knees; I shut my eyes and had to steady my breathing.
He leaned down and whispered directly into my ear.
“I’m gonna punish that pussy for sneaking away from me.” His lips grazed my ear.
“Truly, we need to talk.” Aubry demanded.
“Go in the kitchen with Princess.” Bleu continued to speak directly in my ear. He was loud enough for Aubry to hear his command.
“Princess?” My brows raised.
“That’s what she is,” he chuckled deeply. “She’s in there with Mr. Jackson eating cookies.” He pulled away but still kept his grip on my stomach.
“Go on, Thickumz. I’m sure Aubry here wants to meet the man that is dating and will be around his Princess. There won’t be fighting unless he initiates it with his ego.” Bleu reassured me.
His hand left my stomach and brushed against my ass. My heart fluttered as I blushed looking away from Aubry’s heated glare.
“I want to have Lolani for the week, Aubry. Me and Bleu are getting to know each other…he won’t be around Lolani if you feel uncomfortable since he’s considered new in my life.” I stated confidently.
“He will not be around my daughter at all. I told you upstairs before you got in the shower to dead whatever you had going on.” Aubry’s voice rose.
“And she won’t.” Bleu stepped in front of me.
“I will end up being around, Princess… I was around her today.” Bleu said lowly.
“For the time being, me and Tru will continue to get to know each other… When she’s ready to properly introduce me to your daughter you will not pose as a problem.” Bleu’s voice grew deeper.
“Fuck you, and—”
“Nigga shut yo bitch ass up.” Bleu cocked his head to the side.
My eyes widened, I gasped out in shock from the switch in Bleu’s dialect.
“I’m trying to have patience.” His thumb flicked over the tip of his nose aggressively.
“The only reason why I ain’t knocked yo pussy ass out is because there’s a princess inside of that kitchen eating cookies with her grandfather.
You keep playing me like I got a pussy between my legs, and I’m gone rearrange that pretty boy face of yours. ”
“Mommy! Cookies! Daddy!” Lo Lo shouted as she ran into the living room with my dad on her heels.
I quickly turned to her high-pitched voice and placed a big smile on my face.
“Sure baby, we can have cookies! You’re staying with me for the week, will that make you happy?” I held my breath soon as the question left my mouth.
Damn Aubry. He had me so messed up in the head to the point of not feeling confident in asking my own daughter if she’d be happy spending the week with me.
“Yay!” She clapped her hands and ran full force until she landed in my arms.
“I didn’t know you were still here, Bleu.” My dad eyed Bleu then flicked his eyes over to Aubry.
I guided Lolani towards the sofa, sat down then pulled her into my lap. I thumbed away the smeared chocolate off her chin then rubbed her back in circular motions to ease my own ball of nerves.
“Had to lay eyes on Tru before I left…I purchased a new phone and need to get her number before me and Aubry head outside to have a conversation.” Bleu chuckled now giving his attention to my dad.
I watched his fist clench then unclench. He buried his hands into his pockets. I picked up on him, mentioning purchasing a new phone. That was a smooth way of demanding my number.
“Give me your phone, Bleu.” I bounced Lolani on my left leg and held my hand out.
Lolani soothed me instantly; her tiny hands ran over my damp short waves.
Aubry wasn’t going to cut up in front of Lo Lo.
He never liked her to see his evil side and I was grateful for that.
Bleu pulled his right hand out of his dress pants with his phone attached.
He swaggered my way, unlocked his phone and handed it to me.
“Call yourself.” He smirked down at me knowingly.
I frowned at him for a couple of seconds, my eyes glanced down at Lolani, and she was showing all her teeth smiling up at Bleu. She likes him… I hit the call button, purposely, I let the phone ring three times before I hung it up.
“Can I talk to you outside really quick, Bleu?” I asked, handing him his phone back.
While I was happy that I finally had a man besides my dad standing up to Aubry.
I didn’t want to make the situation worse.
I might’ve had Aubry by the balls with my lie upstairs along with his confession, but I knew that Aubry was clever.
He probably was already plotting what his next move with me would be.
Soon as he heard me ask Bleu to step outside and talk, he offered me a shit eating grin.
I hated him with everything in me but feared his next move.
I calmly sat Lolani down beside me then stood to my feet.
I looked over at my dad, my nerves got even worse when I noted the scowl on his face aimed at Aubry.
Aubry really pressed his luck today. My dad only allowed Aubry to walk through his front door when he had Lo Lo with him. I was appreciative of that, because I never wanted my baby exposed to toxicity.
Bleu guided me by my lower back to the front door.
Aubry stayed glued in the same spot with the same smug smile glued to his face.
Soon as we got outside, the sun beamed down, and a fresh gust of wind blew across my face.
Bleu closed the door behind us and turned to me with anxiousness.
I licked my lips and was about to talk but was stopped.
Bleu grabbed me, spun me around and kissed me deeply.
Desire overrode my senses at once. I forgot what I wanted to tell him as he dominated the kiss. He kissed me so deeply, his hand cupped the back of my head. I moaned into his mouth as his velvety tongue slid over mines. My nipples tightened, breath hitched as I shivered against his hard body.
Bleu’s hands slipped along my arms down to my waist. Before I knew it, he was cupping both ass cheeks then he smoothly picked me up by the bottom of my butt. My legs opened and wrapped around his waist. A moan eased out my mouth as he placed a final kiss to the corner of my lips.
Forehead pressed against mine; I breathed in his minty breath.
I didn’t know what this was… but I felt warm inside.
I felt this strong yearning for him not to place me down on to my feet.
Bleu was pursuing me, and the scary part about this was the why’s?
I tried to do myself a favor by leaving before he woke up.
Yet, I was with my back pressed against the front door in his strong hold.
Did he not understand the type of dick he dished out was lethal? His name already proceeded itself, his confidence was on a thousand. Bleu’s persona screamed big dick energy. My mind felt cloudy, but I knew what was more important.
Lolani came first, not a man who had women at his disposal.
“My life is…complicated, Bleu.” I looked into his eyes.
“Complicated doesn’t scare me, Tru.” He licked his thick cinnamon lips.
Those hooded hazel eyes burned into mine with determination. I grabbed his broad shoulders and sighed.
“Bleu, we can’t…this…” My voice broke.
He didn’t do or say anything, just looked at me like he could see through my soul.
“What happened between us was temporary…. We enjoyed each other this weekend but now I have my daughter to focus on. A one-night stand that was probably a mistake can’t just force its way into my world and make things more complicated.”
The moment mistake left my mouth he pulled his forehead away. Something shifted in his expression, and it wasn’t anger.
“What we did isn’t something I’d ever call a mistake…” his voice sounded deadly sure.
“You don’t know me,” I said trying to protect the emotions that started to rise inside of me.
Why is he making this shit hard?
His hand slid up the back of my neck, fingers warm against my skin. His thumb traced the edge of my jaw, he was gentle, and it grounded me. His words didn’t sound aggressive; I didn’t have to tread lightly or feel uncomfortable debating with him.
“I know exactly enough,” he murmured. “I know you’re tired of life but won’t give up because of Princess. You love everyone else harder than you love yourself.”
I sucked in a breath, my insides tightened as he continued to stare deeply into my eyes.
“And I know,” he continued, voice barely above a whisper.
“This weekend was the first time in a long time someone actually saw you…tended to you and made things easier. Connecting yourself to me wouldn’t come with confusion and struggle…
. you wouldn’t feel like you’re failing either just because you like to take on different endeavors, succeed then move on from them.
You have multiple passions, not just one.
You need somebody to fund it and push you along depending on the direction you are headed in.
” He squeezed the bottom of my ass and pressed his forehead against mine.
My body betrayed me as my arms went around his neck.
“I don’t know if I have the space or time to want anything more than what it was between us this weekend.” I admitted truthfully.
“You don’t have to know because I don’t either…
before I saw you, I was supposed to be meeting your sister.
My mother wants me to marry someone or lose my position in a company I gave many years to.
I saw you, and my mission switched up. If I had to marry a strange woman just to save Maison Langston’s from destruction, that strange woman would be you. ” He smiled.
“So, it’s deeper than sex? You need a woman to marry soon.” I asked, feeling my stomach turn.
“I have time, there’s no rush… If it’s you, I’ll give you a soft life. A life that you’ll feel secure in. I’d make sure you and Princess had everything y’all ever wanted and needed. You and your family would be covered for generations to come.” He didn’t blink as he professed.
“But you would be with other women, the marriage wouldn’t be real.” I whispered.
“I’ve only knew you for three days, three days compared to years of living the way that I do. I’m busy eighty percent of the time. Women come and go, but whoever I marry will stay forever.” He declared.
“I wouldn’t stay forever if it came with sharing you.” My brows lifted.
“That’s why I like you, Tru.” He pecked the tip of my nose.
I blushed and looked away because this man really was smooth as silk.
“You stand in front of a man that can change your entire life with one snap of his fingers…” He snapped his fingers right at the side of my ear.
“Still, you chose to lay out what you won’t accept from me, when most women would jump on the opportunity not giving a fuck about what other women, I drop dick off in. ”
Slowly, he lowered me down the length of him making sure I felt all of his hardness before my feet touched the ground.
“I’ll be in touch, Tru.” He winked.
Tru, why was I just now catching on to the nickname he gave me. Bleu got to the side of me and placed a gentle kiss on my temple.
“Where do you imagine your first date with me?” He asked with his eyes blazing into my side profile.
“Dinner so we could talk and get to know one another more. I love the beach at nighttime, when the water is still. Maybe a movie, too.” I smiled with excitement twisting inside of me.
Honestly, I’ve never been on an official date as a grown woman. It was the fact that Bleu even asked what I imagined our fast date to be. He didn’t mention planning another date at his penthouse. He wanted to take me out again in public which proved that he wasn’t an undercover big girl lover.
“Noted, I’ll see you soon. Don’t turn down any of the gifts that I send your way up until our first date.”
