Chapter 3 Rain on the Balcony

I walked out of the kitchen and closed the door again.

I handed my Girlfriend a glass of warm water.

Then I immediately opened the living room balcony window to ventilate.

At some point, a light drizzle had started outside.

The rain carried a faint fresh scent of flowers and grass.

"Is it raining outside?"

My Girlfriend's voice suddenly came from the living room, carrying a hint of delighted tremor.

"I want to listen."

When I turned around, she was already feeling her way toward the balcony.

I quickly stepped forward and held her arm.

At the window, she slowly raised her hand and stretched her forearm out into the rain.

The cold raindrops landed on her fingertips. She gently shook them, a faint smile at the corner of her lips.

"It really is rain. So soft."

"Yeah. Let me help you sit down. Don't get your clothes wet or you'll catch a cold."

A trace of reluctance appeared on her face.

Still, she obediently sat on the wooden chair on the balcony.

I brought a blanket and draped it over her shoulders.

I even adjusted her collar before checking the phone monitor again.

The man hadn't made any movement since he hid in the Cabinet.

It had already been half an hour since I turned on the gas.
