Chapter 4
I watched her, bare skin kissed by the low gold lighting of the room, trembling from the aftermath, not cold.
There was fear in her eyes, yes, but it was layered over something deeper.
She didn’t know it yet, but her soul was already responding to the bond.
I could feel her resisting with logic while every primal part of her pulled toward me.
“You asked what I am. You deserve that answer.”
She blinked once, “You already said it.”
“A vampire,” I nodded. “But not the kind in your stories. I wasn’t bitten, I was born this way.
My kind lives in shadows, in bloodlines older than any human nation.
We rule in silence, we feed carefully never harming those we feed from.
And we stay hidden because the day humans find out we exist is the day your entire race starts dying. ”
Her breath caught. “I don’t kill for fun,” I said. “I kill to protect what’s mine. My family, my empire, my people. And now…” I brush her hair back from her face, “…you. ”
“I didn’t ask to find you, Layla. But fate doesn’t ask permission. When I saw you, my blood changed. I felt it. The bond, it’s more than chemical, It’s cosmic. Once it happens, there’s no undoing it. You’re mine, and I’m yours. That’s the law of our kind.”
She looked around, almost whispering. “And now what? I belong to you forever?”
“Not as a prisoner,” I said. “As my equal. My queen.”
She let out a short, humourless breath. “I didn’t think being a queen involved being kidnapped.”
That stung, not because it was wrong, but because it wasn’t false.
Still, I softened my tone. “I brought you here because the world I live in is brutal. I make enemies every day. There are people out there who would use you to get to me. There are things that would hurt you just for the taste of my blood inside you. If you’d gone home tonight, they might’ve found you first. And then I would’ve torn this city apart to find your body. ”
That made her look at me, really look. And I let her.
“I don’t say that to scare you,” I explain. “I say it because you deserve to know the truth. I will protect you. With everything I am, you’re part of me now. You will not age, you will not get sick. As long as I give you my blood, you will live. Decades, centuries, if we’re lucky.”
Her lips parted. “What if I don’t want that?”
“Then stop me.” She didn’t move. Her throat worked, but no sound came. She wasn’t ready to say yes. But she was too far in to say no.
I tilted her chin up with a single finger, forcing her eyes to stay on mine.
“My family is old, they can be violent, but they are loyal. There are five of us, my brothers you’ll meet them soon.
You’ll be part of that bond too. They will protect you with their lives, respect you like they do me, but you’ll always be mine. ”
“What happens now?” she asked, barely a whisper.
“Now,” I said, “I show you what it means to be claimed by a Vampire.”
I kissed her before she could think. This time, not rough but deep, anchored. I kissed her like I’d waited lifetimes to find her, because I had. Her mouth opened under mine, uncertain at first, but softening, tasting, giving .
I ran my hands down her bare sides, over the curve of her hips. She shivered but didn’t pull away. Pale skin, a body that had been untouched, A beauty that no man had ruined before I found her.
I took her chin, guiding her eyes back to face me. “You don’t hide from me, Layla. You belong to me now. Every inch of you, and tonight, I’m going to claim every inch of this perfect body.”
I kissed down her chest, across her stomach, settling between her thighs. I took my time, teasing her with lips, tongue, and teeth until she was writhing and breathless, moaning my name like it hurt to hold it in.
When I finally slid inside her, it was slow.
Perfect. She gasped, fingers digging into my arms. Her walls squeezed around me, trembling, tight, slick with need.
I moved in shallow thrusts at first, letting her adjust to the stretch, the weight, the reality.
I know she is sore from me taking her virginity just a while ago, and that I’m bigger than normal humans, but I know her body, her mind is pleading for this coupling as much as mine is.
I watched her eyes not just her body. I watched the moment she stopped resisting and started needing. That’s when I broke, that’s when I took it all. I slammed into her, deeper, harder, her cries echoing off the vaulted ceilings. She clung to me like I was her gravity.
And then it happened, I felt her through my blood. Through the mark on her neck. Her pleasure became mine. Her heart merged with mine and her soul locked into me. She came with a scream, her body locking around me, her nails tearing into my skin.
And I followed her over the edge, roaring her name like it was the only word I knew. We stayed tangled together afterward, her breath against my chest, my hand wrapped in her hair like a tether. The bond pulsed between us like a living thing, undeniable.
She didn’t speak, she didn’t need to, she was mine and now she could feel it too. And nothing in this world or the next would dare try and take her from me now.
