Chapter 20 #2
“Fair enough,” Jackson said, rising. “Remy, nice to meet you and please tell my brother I think he’s a lucky man.”
“I think I’m pretty lucky too,” Remy smiled, joining Oracle and Brady in the center of the room. Then, with a wave of his hand, he whisked the trio away.
Staring at the now vacant spot where his mother had been standing, Steel grinned, “Giving my mother a hard time, I see.”
Sighing, Jackson plopped down in his desk chair. “I didn’t mean to…I just didn’t want Brady to be pushed into something just because he felt sorry for Lucius.”
“Did you really think he’d allow that?” Steel asked, turning to his mate.
“I…I’m not sure…he’s such a gentle soul. Mystia told me why he was banned by the Witches’ Council…and I was afraid Brady would rush to help Lucius even if it meant sacrificing his own happiness.”
“You thought my mother would play on Brady’s willingness to fight for the underdog?” asked Steel.
“Honestly? No, I didn’t…but this whole thing is unusual…
it’s the first time I ever heard of the Fates allowing Oracle to tell someone who his Fated Mate is before they actually met.
It just threw me off a bit,” Jackson said, “and I wanted to make sure Brady knew he had a choice.” Jackson began to nervously tap his fingers on his desk before saying, “Hopefully, your mother will understand why I did it.”
Chuckling, Steel said, “I don’t think anyone has ever challenged my mother…at least relating to Fated Mates.”
Groaning, Jackson buried his face in his hands. “Fuck! Leave it to me to be the first.”
“Babe, don’t worry, my mother won’t be upset about it.”
Peeking through two fingers at his mate, Jackson muttered, “I was out of line and you know it.”
“No, you weren’t. What you were doing was being a good Alpha and my mother knows that and, what’s more, respects you for being one. Trust me, my mother will enjoy telling my father how someone finally challenged her.”
Dropping his hands down on the desk, Jackson groaned in frustration. “Fucking hell, I forgot all about your father. I can just imagine what he’ll think of me.”
Pulling his mate onto his lap, Steel nuzzled the sensitive spot behind Jackson’s ear, alternating between featherlight kisses and licking before saying, “Don’t you know you can’t do anything wrong in my parents’ eyes?”
Feeling his body react to his mate’s touches, Jackson closed his eyes, savoring them.
Turning his head, he pressed his lips against the ones he loved, slipping his tongue inside.
Tasting his mate’s unique flavor, Jackson moaned as his cock grew hard.
Wiggling against his mate’s groin, he deepened the kiss, making sure his mate knew what he wanted.
When Steel rose and carried him over to the love seat, Jackson murmured against his mate’s mouth, “Hey, lover, don’t forget to lock the door. ”

Sighing when the spinning finally stopped, Brady kept his eyes closed, allowing his stomach to settle.
The last thing he wanted was to embarrass himself by throwing up in front of the Keeper of All Magic; he’d never live that down.
Maybe that’s what I should request as payment for helping Remy…
the ability to translocate without getting space sickness.
Inhaling deeply, a tantalizing scent filled his lungs, stirring his dick from its relaxed repose in his pants.
If there were any doubts about having a Fated Mate, they were gone as he sucked in the delicious rose aroma surrounding him.
Ignoring his upset stomach, Brady opened his eyes, searching the room for the being who was his Fated Mate.
Spying two men standing next to a bed, his eyes took in the whole scene before focusing on the pale man lying so still.
Mate! Hurrying over to Lucius, he picked up the cold hand, raising it to his mouth, kissing it gently. “Leelan, I’m here.”
Joining Brady at Lucius’ bedside, Oracle asked, “How is he?”
Kieran shook his head sadly. “I’m losing him…even with the addition of macushla’s strength.”
“My mate needs my blood,” Brady announced, rolling up his shirt sleeve.
“Your mate needs more blood then you can afford to give,” Logan said. “The only way to save Lucius is for you to claim him.”
“Did he give permission for me to claim him?” asked Brady and, after receiving no affirmative responses, continued, “Then we have to find a different way because it’s against the law to claim him without his consent.”
“What if I use a sample of Brady’s blood to make more?” asked Remy. “I did it before when I conjured up the bags of Type O blood.”
“It’s worth a try,” Logan said.
Brady quickly offered his wrist to Remy. “Here, go ahead and make the cut. Hurry!”
Pressing his finger to the inside of Brady’s wrist, Remy waved his other hand over it, creating a one inch opening in the flesh that immediately began to bleed.
Within seconds, six bags of Brady’s replicated blood appeared.
Handing five of them to Logan, Remy used the sixth to replace the bag currently in use.
“I recommend you ask him if he’s willing to have you claim him as soon as he opens his eyes. ”
“Merci, Remy,” Brady said, softly, sitting down on the chair next to his mate. Taking both of Lucius’ hands in his, he rested them on Lucius’s chest. Now all Brady could do was wait…and pray to the gods to save his mate.
