Epilogue

Salvator

20 Years Later

“He seems a nice young wolf,” Luna said, standing up from tending her herb patch and stretching. “Alyssa seems very taken with him.”

I growled and glared off at the forest, trying to control my temper before I found the insolent pup who was sniffing around our eldest daughter.

“She is older than I was when we first fell in love,” my wife continued, earning a deeper growl because there was no way in Heaven, Hell, or the magical realm that I was allowing anyone with rampant hormones near my daughter. I knew exactly what I wanted at that age, and I would tear his balls off before I let him touch my baby.

Luna stood in front of me, her hands on her hips. “Are you listening to me?” she asked, her fingers under my chin bringing my eyes up to meet hers.

My hands slid under her ass to drag her closer to me. “I heard every word, and I also remember what we did under the light of the moon when we escaped the temple. Do you really want a horny wolf stealing our daughter away?”

Luna pursed her lips together, her brown eyes darkening as she cast her mind back over the passage of time. “It was a different era back then,” she replied slowly. “We matured younger.”

I stood slowly to tower over her. “Biology has always been the same.” My hands under her ass pulled her even closer until our bodies were tight against each other. “We fit together today exactly the same as we did when we were young and filled with passion.”

A slow, sensual smile curved Luna’s lips, and she wrapped her arms around my neck to stand on her tip toes. “There is something special about making love under the full moon.”

She was the only woman who made me lose control, the only person in this world who could command my wolf, and the reason why I became one of the leaders of the new magical community to ensure she was safe. The war that had ensued after void magic was released had been fraught with danger, and we’d lost good friends along the way, but the accords now governed over our people instead of a council filled with narcissists and megalomaniacs. All immortal creatures having an equal say.

“If I was able to suffer blue balls for four hundred years while I waited for you, then he can wait at least a hundred if he’s serious,” I said.

Alyssa was our eldest daughter, but we had three other children we had been blessed with, our eldest son one of the strongest wolves who had ever lived since he was a hybrid who could wield magic as easily as he changed form. A new era of magic had emerged as void magic permeated into the magical community, and new children were born with unique gifts which showed how magic should have evolved.

Luna wrinkled her nose at me, demonstrating that she wasn’t done with this argument. She could try to change my mind, but there was no way I was letting anyone near my baby without putting the fear of God himself into him first to curb his errant libido.

I grabbed my wife around the waist to lift her as I strode forward. Her husky laugh vibrated against the skin of my throat as her legs wrapped around my waist.

“Where are we going?” She flicked the lobe of my ear with her tongue while she wiggled until she clung to me in a way that made me ache.

“You were just reminding me of the benefits of wild and abandoned sex under the full moon.” I squeezed her ass, and she tightened her grip on me.

“I was talking about—”

I cut her off by pushing her against a tree and grinding my pelvis in hers. “Do you really want to discuss our children right now?” I queried, raising a single eyebrow.

Luna bit into her bottom lip, her eyes fluttering closed for a brief moment. “How do you still make me feel like this after all this time?” she whispered.

“Like what?” We both knew I could feel her emotions through our bond.

“Like I’m going to explode if you aren’t inside me. Like I need you so desperately that I might have to destroy anyone who disturbs us.” Luna nipped the side of my throat with her teeth, forcing a growl from me. Wolves loved biting, as it was a sign of ownership, and this woman had claimed my heart a long time ago.

Everyone who had been there the night Misti had erupted and released void magic now possessed void magic and there had been a reason it had been locked away—it was wild and uncontrolled, defying all the laws of nature. I had been a predator before that night, but it had changed me at a fundamental level. With every step I took into the forest, we disappeared from view as I blended into my surroundings, Luna disappearing too since she was wrapped around me like a vine. The ultimate predator walked undetected, and my gift of invisibility and the ability to walk through solid objects unhindered had been instrumental in winning the war.

The land we lived on had been a dream of mine, and I had bought it over two hundred years ago, allowing nature to grow and flourish until it created the haven we now lived in far from the rest of the world. We had raised our two girls and two boys here in safety, their gifts developing under the watchful eye of their mother.

“Don’t you let go of me or you could leave me inside a tree,” Luna said, her arms tightening around my neck.

My chuckle echoed into the dense forest around us. I was so used to my alternative form and walking through solid items that I barely felt the faint presence of what I passed through. I solidified our footsteps as we emerged into the clearing that Luna had created for her ceremonies, sacred symbols marking the tree trunks to make this place hidden from prying eyes and ears. It had been where the witches had met during the war, and also where the peace accords were signed.

The light of the full moon shone through the tree branches, creating intricate patterns on the ground. My wolf howled in my head, his instincts joining with mine as we stood watching our mate.

“I bought this land for you,” I finally admitted.

Luna’s eyes widened. She had believed I purchased this land for my pack.

“I felt so lost without you, not able to find you and at the same time not able to release the ghost of you. I felt connected to you here, as if you walked this land beside me.”

“That was why you planted all the trees,” Luna whispered, her small hand finding mine.

I shrugged one shoulder. “They reminded me of you.” At times like this, I wished I had the same ability to express my feelings as Luna. She had an open heart that welcomed everyone.

“Come on.” Luna tugged my hand and led me into the centre of the clearing, where the light of the moon was at its fullest. She began to move her hips to a rhythm that the leaves created around us.

I gave her my sternest glare, but that would never deter my wife. Her fingers threaded through mine as she continued to dance to the music of nature. Slowly, my body followed Luna’s, both of us moving together in a sensual sway. One item at a time, Luna managed to remove our clothes, until we gyrated naked together with the moon as our witness.

Luna’s fingertips traced magical paths over my body, leaving tingles in their wake. I added to our dance by caressing her skin, which was soft against the roughness of my hands. A muffled growl rumbled in my chest as Luna’s fingers wrapped around my shaft, pumping me to hardness.

We used to sneak away together to find pleasure in each other’s arms, and even after all the years we had been mated I still wanted to steal her away just to spend time alone in nature. Luna pushed my shoulders until I lay on the ground staring up at her.

“I love that you are mine,” Luna said, crawling over me, her hair teasing my skin and making me groan. She sucked me deep, her tongue moving in swirls until my hips bucked up, need flashing down my spine. Luna moved over me, slowly sinking down on my rock-hard dick.

My hands gripped her ass, thrusting up, watching as Luna’s mouth fell open and her eyes closed. She was the most beautiful creature in the world, and she belonged to me. Her body undulated over mine, the image of her a true goddess as she worshipped me, bringing both of us to the brink of pleasure.

“I can’t—” Luna panted, her knees digging in against my waist. “Ahhh.”

I rolled her onto her back, my body pressing hers into the ground to stare down at her. “You get more beautiful every day.”

Luna trailed her nails gently down my back and my wolf almost purred. “I’ve loved you from the moment I saw you again in that camp until now. It gets stronger every day because every day you prove why we belong together.”

“Love is too small a word for what I feel inside,” I said, kissing her and letting her feel all my emotions through our mating bond. “You are the moon who lights my life, the stars who guide me, and the sun who brings warmth. Luna, you are my everything.”

She pulled my head down until she was kissing me as if I was the air she needed to breathe. I knew what she was feeling because it echoed inside me. This woman would always be the greatest gift in my life, and I would spend every day protecting and loving her.
