Chapter 15 #2

Saturday afternoon wore on. Dominic excused himself first, around two thirty, telling his friends he just needed to walk for a while.

Get his head together. He and Lincoln spoke quietly before Dominic wandered off.

Trey’s belly rippled with anticipation—not only of the possibility of things they could do while naked, but of simply touching Dominic.

Being near him and helping him chase the demons away.

Trey would do whatever he could to give Dominic some peace from the nightmare of Roxy’s attack—especially if that attack had awakened nightmares from Dominic’s own past.

With everyone paying attention to the folksy rendition of “This Is Me” happening, Trey had no audience to his departure.

Dominic was shirtless inside the stuffy tent, legs crossed and hands in his lap.

His bright smile had Trey dropping to his knees and tackle-hugging him onto a sleeping bag.

Dominic wrapped his arms around Trey’s waist and tangled their legs together.

Rolled them onto their sides so the hug became a full-bodied embrace.

Trey inhaled the scent of him, memorizing every taut muscle and hot press of skin.

“Missed this,” Dominic said. “And you.”

“Ditto.” Trey kissed his bare shoulder. “How are you really?”

“Better. Honest.”

He pulled back for a better look at Dominic. Up close he saw the red lines spider-webbing his eyes, and the faint dark spots under them. He looked exhausted. “I’m here, Dom. Whatever you need me to do, even if it’s just to listen.”

“Thank you.”

Dominic closed his eyes, and Trey did the same, mentally content to exist like that for a while.

Physically, though, his dick was taking notice of the proximity of a hot male body, and of how much he loved the sweaty, lightly soapy scent on Dominic’s skin.

Lips ghosted over Trey’s forehead and nose before landing on his mouth.

Gentle at first, until Trey kissed back.

Dominic rolled them so he was on top, his hard cock grinding into Trey’s thickening erection.

A few more thrusts and Trey was all the way there, his tongue stroking against Dominic’s, eager for things to go . . . wherever.

“Brought stuff,” Dominic said on a harsh whisper. “Want to fuck you, Trey, please.”

Staying quiet while Dominic fucked him was going to tax the limits of Trey’s restraint. The force of the need in Dominic’s dark eyes made Trey want to promise him anything. “Okay.”

Something sharp and intense flickered in Dominic’s face.

Trey allowed Dominic to manhandle him onto his side, so that Trey’s back was to Dominic’s front.

He helped Dominic get his shorts and briefs down his legs and off.

Dominic jerked his cock with several hard, dry pulls that came one tug too close to painful, and then he let go.

Licked the shell of Trey’s ear. Nipped at his shoulder while his hands worked between them.

Dominic nudged his top leg forward, the sideways position totally new to Trey and a little scary.

Dominic pushed lube inside him with a single finger, all at once and maybe a little too fast. Trey made a soft noise so that Dominic would know he was okay.

He barely heard the sound of the condom being put on over the dull roar in his ears.

And then the head of Dominic’s dick was notched at his entrance, and nothing mattered except the slow burn of entry.

Dominic slid his forearm behind Trey’s neck, cushioning him, and covered Trey’s mouth with his palm.

The position was so fucking erotic Trey nearly combusted on the spot.

With his other hand, Dominic held his leg up and out.

He snapped his hips, creating a hard, fast rhythm that made Trey’s insides curl up tight.

Too tight, too fast. Dominic’s hand barely restrained the noises that kept ripping from his throat.

Dominic angled his thrusts and nailed Trey’s gland each and every damned time, until Trey thought his spine might turn to jelly from the amazingness of it all.

Trey didn’t know what to do with his hands.

He grabbed the sleeping bag, the tent floor, Dominic’s snapping hip.

Nothing mattered except the slap of skin and panting of breath.

The slickness of Dominic’s chest against his back.

The scents of sweat and musk and sex. The pure rightness of giving this to Dominic, knowing they’d both get off like rockets, and that it had been too damned long.

The steady pace had Trey sliding closer and closer to the edge, never quite able to tumble over.

As demanding as Dominic was in the beginning, he was in no hurry to push them to completion.

Trey surrendered to it, let it carry him away, his entire body relaxing—and abruptly tightening up hard as Dominic’s hand on his dick shoved him over.

He shot across his own chest, some slicking Dominic’s firm grip on his dick. Dominic’s hips stuttered and that silencing hand fell away from his mouth, but Trey knew him too well. Dominic hadn’t come yet.

Trey grabbed his hip. “Keep going.”

Dominic pressed two hard kisses to his shoulder. “You sure?”

“Yes. Fuck me, Dom.”

“Fuck.” Dominic hauled him onto his hands and knees, and Trey bit his forearm to keep quiet against the half-dozen sharp thrusts that led to Dominic’s orgasm.

Dominic plunged hard and deep, the hands on Trey’s hips squeezing hard enough to bruise.

Funny lights winked behind Trey’s eyelids as he held on for dear life.

Dominic pulled out gently, but Trey still felt the sting, and then they were on their sides again, Dominic’s taller body wrapped tightly around his.

The tent was stifling, and their bodies were slick with sweat, and Trey wanted to stay like that forever.

Sated and content, he dozed in his boyfriend’s arms.

Warm kisses dropped along the line of his shoulders, then centered on the top of his spine.

If Trey hadn’t just come so hard the soft kisses might have gotten him going again—which might not have been a bad thing.

Words seemed needed right now, but he didn’t have any.

He didn’t want to say the wrong thing. Not when Dominic seemed to be clinging to normal by his fingernails.

“Is it selfish,” Dominic asked on a whisper, “that I want to drag you out of this tent right now and scream to the sky that you’re mine?”

Something wonderful burned in Trey’s belly. “Not selfish at all. I’m the selfish one for not wanting to come out yet.” He twisted around to face Dominic, anticipating agreement or reproach in his expression.

But Dominic was smiling fondly at him, wide enough that his dimples winked. “I would never, anyway. I don’t want anyone else seeing you like this.”

“Naked?”

“That too, but no. So totally fucked out that you can barely move.”

“Well, you are the only one who’s ever seen it, you know.”

“I know.” Dominic kissed the tip of his nose. “And it better stay that way for the foreseeable future.”

Trey feigned innocence. “Does this mean you want to go steady? Can I wear your pin?”

“Jackass.” Dominic swatted his bare ass, then rubbed the stinging cheek. “This is mine.”

“Yeah, it is.” His level of complete contentedness was only dimmed by the bass of reality thumping along outside of the tent. One of these days they’d have all the time in the world to laze around in bed after a good, hard fuck.

Not today.

“I’m glad to see the ice thawing between Tyson and you guys,” Dominic said after a few minutes of silence. “Lincoln might have even admitted that you and Bobby are kind of cool.”

Trey snorted laughter. “Wow, did he sprain his tongue saying that?”

“Linc took some of the stuff you guys said in the Off Beat green room personally, so I call it a win.”

“Bobby’s the same way. Cool guy if he’s your friend, but watch out if he’s not.”

“They’re the good kind of friends to have.”

“Yeah, they are.” Bobby and Danielle were the best. Trey didn’t like to think about where he might be if they hadn’t given him a chance on their Craigslist ad. Or what was going to happen after tonight’s awards ceremony. “Thank you.”

Dominic’s easy smile turned quizzical. “For what?”

“Being patient with me. I mean, your whole band is out, and I’m still scared of what people think of me.”

“You think I’m not?” His voice remained patient, but his expression turned serious.

“Being out doesn’t mean I suddenly don’t give a shit how people see me.

But I want them to see me for my music, Trey, not where I like to stick my dick.

If I’m good enough of a musician, then the rest doesn’t matter as much.

” Dominic brushed his knuckles over Trey’s cheek, and Trey pressed into the welcome touch.

“You’re amazing onstage. You are overflowing with raw talent.

That’s what people are going to remember you for. ”

“Not everyone.”

“There’s always going to be a bigot who’ll want to rattle your cage and spit in your face, but that’s life. Gay or straight, there will always be someone out there ready to hate you for some reason or another. Especially the jealous ones.”

Trey tucked his head beneath Dominic’s chin and inhaled the scent of him. “Do you have a motivational speaker hiding in your shorts?”

Dominic’s laughter rumbled in Trey’s ear. “I have awesome parents who give good advice. Sometimes it even sticks.”

“Wish I’d had your parents.”

The arms around Trey’s waist tightened. “I was lucky. But if it helps? The minute I introduce you, you’re going to be adopted right into the family.”

Trey sat up so fast he almost clipped Dominic’s chin. “You want to introduce me to your parents?”

“Sure.” Dominic sat up, frowning. “If you want to meet them.”

He’d never been introduced to anyone’s parents before, and the idea made him a little queasy. What if he didn’t measure up? Maybe they’d decide he wasn’t good enough for their son, and Dominic would dump him. What if—?

“Stop that,” Dominic said.

Trey blinked. “What?”

“You’re assuming the worst, aren’t you?”

“Do you blame me? My life doesn’t usually go best-case-scenario.” Trey grabbed his briefs, feeling crazy vulnerable right then, but his ass was sticky with lube.

“Here.” Dominic handed over a box of baby wipes. “Girls are always prepared.”

He laughed as he used a few wipes to clean up, while Dominic did the same. They didn’t talk again until they were both dressed. They knelt across from each other, and Dominic grabbed his hands and squeezed tight.

“I know you’re not used to things going your way,” Dominic said, “but this is me telling you that no matter what happens next, I’m by your side. We haven’t known each other that long, but it kind of feels like I’ve known you forever.”

Trey’s throat got tight. “Me too.”

“Coming out or not coming out, winning Unbound or losing, I’m with you. All I ask is one thing from you.”

“Okay.”

Dominic’s dark eyes held his. “Don’t deny me.”

“I don’t understand.”

“I’m not asking you to lie, but if someone were to somehow find out about us, don’t deny me. Say no comment, or dismiss the question as none of their business, but don’t deny who I am to you.”

Trey’s chest ached with the idea of telling someone that Dominic meant nothing to him, because that was so far from the truth it was laughable. But imploding his career, even accidentally, before it really began also scared the piss out of him. Fading Daze was everything.

So was Dominic.

“I promise,” Trey said.
