Chapter 22 Faye

TWENTY-TWO

Faye

Woah, did that really just happen? My instincts took over, and I got lost in the moment. I’ve never been close to a man before, but I was choking down Ren’s unbelievably large cock like my life depended on it while Cole’s mouth did filthy things to me. And I freaking loved it all.

“I’m sorry about the seat,” I murmur bashfully. I’m in a fuzzy, post-orgasmic haze, sitting in the car between two amazing alphas. I don’t know what came over me.

“What have we told you about apologizing, little omega?” Cole pulls me in closer. Mm, safety and warmth. My alpha. “We love your slick.”

My pain has dulled temporarily, but I’m still burning up. From what I’ve heard, it won’t be long until another wave hits. Hopefully, we’ll be out of the car by then.

“Oh my gosh… Frank!” I cover my face with my hands. “What will he think of me? We’ve probably scarred him for life!”

“Frank has been around the block a few times.” Cole chuckles. “Don’t worry about him.”

“Look.” Ren points out the window as the car turns a corner, making its way down a bumpy driveway lined with giant pine trees. “We’re here.”

As soon as we come to a stop, Laz opens the door for me like a chauffeur and saving me the embarrassment of seeing Frank after what we just did in the back of his car.

“Here.” Laz offers me his denim jacket. “Wear this to keep you warm.”

White clouds puff from us as we breathe, making me grateful for Laz’s jacket which acts as a warm barrier against the chilly night breeze. I look around for Damon, feeling a stab of disappointment when I don’t see him or his bike anywhere. Did he lie about joining us?

“Welcome to Casa Silverwood,” Ren motions to the cabin.

“Wow.” I’m lost for words. “This is…”

I expected a small chalet, but this is nothing like that. It’s a large, two-level, wooden construction complete with a front porch and swing seat. Lanterns on either side of the green door give us a little light. The upper level has a balcony, where I’m sure I can see a hot tub.

“Not bad, right?” Laz winks. “Wait until you see inside.”

The door creaks as he pushes it open, toasty air that smells like the forest greeting us. A fire crackles in the fireplace, and thick rugs cover the dark wood floors. After slipping off my shoes, I realize there must be underfloor heating because the wooden panels are delightfully warm underfoot.

With a hand on my lower back, Laz leads me into the next room.

My breath hitches when I see Damon on his hands and knees, adding logs to another roaring fire.

This fireplace is the room’s centerpiece, an emerald U-shaped sofa covered in thick blankets framing it.

Intricately carved bookcases and captivating paintings cover the walls, and red drawn curtains cover windows that look out on the spectacular view.

“Woah, man.” Laz surveys the room. “You’ve been busy.”

Damon merely grunts then marches past us. A bowling ball of rejection plummets to the bottom of my belly when he barely acknowledges our presence. He grabs the axe that’s resting next to the front door. “We need more firewood.”

There’s already a massive pile of logs next to the fire, but Damon vanishes into the night anyway, slamming the door behind him.

“I hope you’ll be comfortable here.” Ren traipses in behind us and fluffs a nearby cushion. “You can change anything you like. It’s pretty neutral so it should be easy for you to put your own stamp on it.”

I open my mouth to reply when I hear heated, raised voices coming from the porch. I can’t make out what they’re saying, but Cole sounds furious. Laz and Ren exchange an “I hope they don’t kill each other” look, and my heart sinks.

“They’re fighting because of me, aren’t they?” I sigh. The Silverwood Pack is a family, and the last thing I want is to create a wedge between them.

“Hey, don’t worry about those grumpy jerks.” Laz tries to play it down. “This isn’t about you, honeybee. We fight all the time. And they’re big boys; they can handle themselves. You’ve got enough to focus on without worrying about pack drama.”

“But I don’t want to cause any problems.”

“You won’t, baby.” Ren runs a hand up and down my back soothingly. “This is unfamiliar territory for everyone, so we’re all figuring it out as we go. Trust me, we all want you here. Even Damon, despite how he’s acting right now.”

A burst of cool air whooshes through the cabin as Cole enters. His fists are clenched in fury, but his shoulders relax when he looks at me, his frustration visibly melting away. I notice a wet patch on his collar from my slick and can’t help but grin.

“Is everything okay?” I ask him.

“Everything’s fine, little omega.” I swoon at the sight of Cole’s dimple. “You’re here with us, and we’re going to take care of you.”

“Come on.” Ren slips his fingers through mine. “I’ll show you the nest, and you can make yourself comfortable. Remember, everything is just temporary because we weren’t sure what you’d like. We can take you to Nora’s Nest Nook to buy new things.”

The four of us head upstairs, the guys pausing at the door, waiting for me to enter the nest first. When I step inside, I can’t believe what I’m seeing.

Set in the middle of the room, a giant circular bed takes up most of the space.

I’ve never seen a bed so large; it’ll easily fit all five of us.

There are mountains of pillows and blankets in every color and material I can think of, stacked in neat piles around the room’s edges.

Two doors lead off the room, one going into a bathroom and the other onto the balcony with the hot tub.

“You can change the color of the lights to create whatever ambiance you like.” Laz points at the control panel on the wall. I flick through the settings before settling on a soft pinkish hue. “There are also hidden speakers if you want to play music.”

“This is unbelievable.” I turn, taking in the remarkable space.

While there are a few little tweaks I’ll make to feel truly at home—like getting rid of the cupcake-shaped cushions with silly cartoon faces that Laz presumably panic-bought—the guys have done an amazing job. However, there is one big thing missing. I noticed as soon as I stepped inside.

“But?” Cole senses I’m holding back. “What is it?”

“It doesn’t smell like you.” I face my alphas who are all still standing in the doorway. “In the pack house, I could smell you guys everywhere.”

“We didn’t want to lay our scent in case it made you uncomfortable,” Ren explains. What will it take to make him believe I want him? “Do you want our scent in your nest?”

“Yes.” The word practically leaps off my tongue. “I really do.”

“Are you giving us permission to enter?” Cole requests my permission like a true gentleman. “The nest is your sacred place.”

“Of course, I am.” I’m desperate to prove this to them but don’t know how. “I want you all to stay here with me.” I internally cringe, not used to being so forward. “I mean, if you don’t mind?”

“Mind? We’d fucking love it!” Laz races into the room and dives onto the bed, spread-eagled for a moment before he starts rolling around. “Is this better?”

I laugh. “Much better.”

Cole rolls his eyes at Laz. “I’ll gather some of our clothes too, if you’d like?”

“Thank you.” I smile. “I’d love that.”

“I’ll be right back.”

I still can’t believe this is really happening, but I don’t have time to dwell as my skin prickles uncomfortably again and my stomach suddenly twists violently. It’s like lust has become a living, breathing entity, gnawing at my insides, begging for a knot.

“It’s starting again, isn’t it?” Ren reaches out to steady me before I fall.

I nod tearfully, struggling to catch my breath from the pain that has come out of nowhere.

“It h-hurts so b-bad.” I turn to Ren. My place of safety. “I need a knot, Ren. Please. I need your knot.”

“You heard her, dude!” Laz rolls off the bed, leaving the room smelling like freshly baked cinnamon cookies. “She needs your knot.”

“I don’t know if now’s a good time to say that I’ve never, um … knotted … an omega before,” Ren confesses. “Maybe you should get one of the other guys to help you first?”

“No!” I stand firm. “I’ve never been knotted before, remember? I want you, Ren.”

“I’ll prepare some snacks and help Cole.” Laz steps toward the door, sensing that this is a moment the two of us need to be alone. He slaps Ren on the back. “You’ve got this, brother.”

“What if I c-can’t…?” Nerves emanate from Ren. “What if I don’t know—”

“You’ll know what to do,” Laz reassures him. “We’ll all be here to help afterward. I have a feeling our omega is going to need a lot of knots to keep her happy.”

Mm, knots. They sound so fucking good right now.

“I’ll be back for you soon, honeybee.” Laz kisses my cheek then whispers in my ear as he passes, “I’m like a whack-a-mole. I can keep disappearing, but I’ll always pop back up again.”

The door to my nest clicks closed behind him, leaving just the two of us.

“Are you sure about this, Faye? Cole is our pack leader.” The way that Ren’s chewing on his lip screams of how hesitant he is. “He should be the first to—”

“I don’t care about pack hierarchy.” My patience wanes as my heat takes hold. “You’re all my alphas, and I want you to be my first.”

After what happened with Belle, Ren needs to know that he is my first choice. I need him to know how much I care for him and that he’ll never be second best.

He brushes a loose lock of hair from my cheek, tucking it behind my ear as he murmurs, “I don’t know what I’ve done to deserve you.”

“Soon, I’ll be able to tell you why you deserve every happiness, Ren.” I wince as a stabbing sensation in my stomach feels like a searing knife twisting. “But right now, I need you to take my pain away.”

As soon as I say that, a newfound determination crosses his features. All his performance anxiety vanishes in a flash.

“I’ve got you, baby.”

“I need you, alpha,” I whine, my heat coming on thick and fast. “I can’t wait.”
