MEREDITH
Never in my wildest dreams did I imagine being stuck in the middle of nowhere in a cabin with two sexy-as-hell bikers, but here we are. There’s tension between them, and the whole situation is bizarre.
When Nate steps out to take a phone call, Pyro quickly starts to question me.
“Do you want to be here?” he asks, running his hand through his beard.
Do I? If you asked me yesterday, I would have said hell, no, but some small part of me doesn’t want to leave him. I like watching him, listening to him, and trying to figure out how his brain works. He’s also not bad to look at, and I’ve been appreciating the view as much as I can.
“Yeah, I mean, We were going back tomorrow,” Is all I can manage, not really knowing how to explain this messed-up Stockholm situation I’ve found myself in.
The truth?
I like Nate.
A little too much.
And I know I shouldn’t.
He clearly has issues, but I like the way he listens to me when I talk, hanging on to every word.
I like the way he makes me feel.
More than anything, I like how comfortable I feel with him. There’s a connection and chemistry there that I think I’d like to explore.
Pyro reaches up to play with a lock of my hair. “He didn’t tell anyone where he was going, and his brother was worried about him. Did you two plan this trip?”
“No,” I admit, wincing. “But I know I’m safe with him. Is that why you asked me if I knew any bikers?”
He nods, a muscle working in his jaw. “I saw Bones parked outside the shelter.”
“Stalker,” I mutter, and Pyro shakes his head in exasperation. “And you still want him?”
I don’t know what the hell I want.
Nate—or should I start calling him Bones now?—steps back into the room and takes in the closeness between us. His blue eyes burn with anger. “Pyro, outside. Now.”
“I think I’ve outstayed my welcome. I’ll see you tomorrow?” he asks, watching me closely.
“Yeah, I’ll be there.”
He presses a soft kiss to my forehead and then gets up and leaves.
Am I making the right choice here?
I know I should probably leave with Pyro, but my gut is telling me to stay.
Nate steps back into the room, his eyes going straight to me. “Should I call you Bones now? Does anyone else call you Nate?”
“No one has called me Nate since I patched in at eighteen,” he admits, sitting down next to me. “But I like you calling me that. I want you to call me Nate. No one else knows me by that name, other than my brother.”
“Nate it is,” I murmur, sitting next to him. The mood has been dampened a little, with Pyro bringing a heavy dose of reality with him.
The fact that he wants me to call him Nate when no one else does makes me soften, but I don’t want to look into why too deeply.
His big hands immediately come to my hips, his fingers biting into me like he doesn’t want me to go. “What did you say to Pyro?” His gaze drops to my lips, and his teeth rake over his full bottom one.
“Doesn’t matter. He’s gone, that’s all you need to know. You were jealous,” I whisper, and his eyes narrow slightly.
“Do you like that? Making me jealous?” he asks in a low rumble. He runs his lips up the column of my neck. “I wanted to hit my own club brother for even sitting close to you.”
“You haven’t even made a move on me,” I blurt out, and he laughs without humor.
“I don’t want to fuck things up with you. I already kidnapped you,” he admits, pulling back and smiling at me sheepishly. “It was definitely the most impulsive thing I’ve done.”
“Insane is the word you are looking for. Or…” I tilt my head. “…criminal.”
“Yet here you are. You could have left with Pyro.”
“I know,” I admit, swallowing hard. “And I should have. I know that. It would have been the smart thing to do.”
“But?” he presses, his fingers now running up my spine.
“But… you’ve got my attention, Nate. You took me for a reason. Maybe you wanted a distraction. I think you wanted someone who understands you and can figure out how your mind works. But now I think it’s gotten out of control. You like me.”
He makes a deep sound in his throat. “You think I don’t know that? I’ve wanted to fuck you since I first laid eyes on you in your sexy librarian-looking outfits and those heels. Always so fucking put together. I’ve wanted nothing more than to mess you up, to make you dirty.”
Okay, that was hot.
“I don’t know why I’m still here. If I had any ounce of sense, I’d have left and never spoken to you again,” I whisper, and a shadow passes through his eyes.
“I’m glad you didn’t.”
“You brought me here to talk, Nate. I think we should do more of that, don’t you?”
He sits back and scrubs his hand down his face. “Yeah, I suppose we can do that. It’s hard being vulnerable with someone, you know? Especially as a biker.”
“I’m not going to judge you,” I assure him, tucking my hair back behind my ear. “This isn’t exactly a normal situation, but my job literally is to listen and help you work through things.”
“But this isn’t a job,” he mutters.
And I nod, agreeing. “No, it’s not, but it doesn’t change the fact that I’m here. And I’m not going to repeat anything you tell me. Why don’t you start at the beginning?”
“Okay,” he murmurs, clearing his throat.
“My parents died when we were kids. We were put into foster care. They tried to separate us a few times, but we’d always find each other.
We’d run away. We didn’t trust anyone. All we had was each other.
It’s always been like that for as long as I can remember.
We only had each other. When we turned eighteen, we joined the MC. ”
My heart breaks for him and his brother. I’m glad they had each other, but they didn’t have the childhood they deserved. So much from our childhood finds us as adults.
“And even then, the two of you were inseparable?” I guess, and he grins.
“Yeah. We did every task together. Our rooms were next to each other with a connecting bathroom. Prez thought it was weird as fuck, but everyone accepted it. That’s the thing about our brotherhood, they might give you shit, but no one judges you, you know?
We finally found a home. We worked our way up the ranks and eventually became enforcers for the club.
We rarely did anything without each other.
We both wanted to look the same and do the same things.
It might sound weird, but to us it was natural.
Then Skull meets Isla, and suddenly, I’m not a part of that. ”
“And now you’re struggling to figure out who you are without him?” I ask, reaching out and taking his hand.
“I just feel lost. Numb. I don’t know, I’m not myself. Skull is the big brother who’s always kept me tethered. He was always the angel on my shoulder. And without him, the devil is taking over. Now I feel like I’m just fucking floating…”
He spends the next hour telling me all about his brother and their relationship.
“It sounds like your brother hasn’t cut you out of his life, though, Nate. He fell in love. And it seems like he’s trying to include you in that in any way he can.”
A strange expression crosses his face. “Yeah, I guess you’re right. And I am happy for him. He deserves to be loved the way that Isla loves him.”
“And you deserve that too. And you can both have that and still keep your relationship. It’s not going anywhere. It’s just evolving, but the bond never changes.”
He sighs and nods, then pulls me onto his lap, slowly lowering his lips to mine. He gives me time to pull away, time to say no. “I’m done talking. Can I kiss you?”
I nod.
“I need to hear the words, Doc.”
“Kiss me, Nate. Please.”
And then his lips are on mine, gentle at first, seeking permission.
When my fingers grip his nape and run up into his hair, it turns hungry.
He tastes so good, and his talented tongue knows exactly what it’s doing.
It’s easily the best kiss of my life, and I’m not even exaggerating.
I slowly start to grind against him, unable to help myself.
“Baby,” he rasps, ending the kiss first.
Okay, I love hearing him call me that.
“I never thought I’d ever fucking say this, but I don’t want to rush into anything,” he says quickly, and it takes me a few seconds to understand what he’s saying.
“You don’t want to…”
“Not yet, we aren’t in any rush,” he replies, pulling me back for another kiss. “I won’t fuck you yet, but I’ll make you come if you let me. You want that?” He arches his hips up, letting me feel his hard cock.
He’s huge. I was right, it is heavy. “Yes, I want that. Please, Nate.”
“Fuck, hearing you beg…” he growls, lifting his T-shirt and sliding his hand into my panties. “So fucking wet.”
“All for you,” I moan louder as he slides his thumb over my clit.
“Fuck, you’re not making this easy,” he whispers huskily before kissing me. My orgasm builds quickly, and my head drops back as wave after wave of pleasure takes over me.
“That’s it,” he growls, watching my expression. “Fuck, you look so beautiful when you come.”
I melt against him after he’s wrung every bit of pleasure out of me, then I smile at him. “Now your turn.”
Sliding down onto my knees, I undo his jeans button, and he lifts his hips to help me pull them down enough to get his hard cock out. He’s thick. And fuck, he’s perfect. “You don’t have to,” he rasps, his throat working as he swallows hard.
“I know, but I want to.”
Tasting the head of him first, I moan around him before taking him as deep as I can into my mouth.
“Fuck, look at you,” he growls, threading his fingers through my hair. “Look at how you take me, Doc. So fucking good. Your mouth is perfect.”
I try to give him my best moves, sucking him as deeply as I can.
“I’m going to come,” he warns, but I don’t move away. I look up into his eyes and watch as he finishes in my mouth.
And it’s the hottest thing I’ve ever seen.
He is masculine perfection.
When I sit back, he leans forward and picks me up, carrying me to the bed. “Now, I want a taste.” He pulls down my panties, spreads my thighs, and buries his face in my pussy, eating me hungrily.
And I love every second.
