Epilogue/Riley #2
Pride was the easy answer. Riley had been trying to hint at what position he would prefer when it came to sleeping with Jake, but none of his boyfriends seemed to think he could be the dominant partner.
Which—fine—Riley wasn’t against bottoming; he was just being broody and stubborn about it because no one seemed to think he was capable of it.
He did want to have sex with Jake, but right before a game?
That sounded like a good way to get stuck in some bullshit superstitious routine if they won.
Riley made sure to take the spot behind the passenger seat when he got in Jake’s car. He didn’t want to look at the guy when his imagination kept playing scenes where he was getting fucked within an inch of his life by a huge cock, thank you very much.
He glowered at Kingston when his boyfriend joined him in the car, cackling loudly like the asshole he was.
Allen twisted around in his seat to meet Riley’s eyes, searching for an answer he was never going to get because Riley was physically incapable of forming words right now. Every time he tried, Kingston’s laughter started up again, quickly silencing Riley before he could say anything.
“Everyone ready for pasta?” Jake asked, oblivious to the events unfolding in his vehicle.
“Take me the fuck home, please,” Riley groaned, already knowing there was a very good chance he was going to end up sleeping with his best friend before the sun came up.
And by the time they had returned to the penthouse, Riley realized he was less nervous about possibly propositioning Jake and more panicked about the opening game as the night wore on.
No amount of cuddling from Allen, kisses from Kingston, and soft-spoken words from Jake helped to calm him down. He barely touched his chicken alfredo, which made Jake’s frown deepen as the hours passed. By the time their movie finished, and it was time for bed, Allen was practically glued to him.
“What’s wrong, love?” Allen asked, cupping Riley’s face in his hands like he could coax the answers out by staring at him with those big, brown doe eyes of his.
Which was effective, but Riley was growing increasingly ashamed of how incapable he was at keeping his shit together, and he didn’t want to appear weak in front of his boyfriends.
“Hey, I have anxiety medication,” Kingston said, taking Riley’s hand and squeezing it firmly. “That stuff about fucking Jake—I just meant that it worked for me. Don’t freak out if you’re not ready for that.”
Allen’s gaze snapped to Kingston, his mouth opening in disbelief. “King, that’s way too much pressure to put on him right now. How about we all get into the bath and decompress? Or I could get us cozy in bed and read to you guys for a while? What would help?”
“Here. Move.”
Riley closed his eyes as Allen climbed off his lap and Kingston pressed a quick kiss to the back of his hand before slipping away. A moment later, Jake guided him onto his back and climbed over him, settling his weight carefully so Riley sank deeper into the cushions beneath him.
The familiar pressure was grounding, and despite himself, Riley felt some of the tension leave his body.
This position wasn’t new to them because they had been doing it since they were kids.
Whenever Riley got upset about his sister and his parents, or whenever Jake was overstimulated and needed time to recover, they held onto each other just like this.
Jake’s warmth, his scent, and the beat of his heart against Riley’s was exactly what he needed. Allen and Kingston gave him so many comforts in so many ways, but this was something reserved only for him and Jake.
It didn’t make Jake better than his other boyfriends—just different. Jake knew all the places where Riley hid the pain in the marrow of his bones, and he knew how to compress the wounds until the hurt bleeding from them slowly ebbed away.
“Imposter syndrome,” Riley said quietly into the growing silence of the room. “I don’t know if I’m good enough. I want to be good enough—in hockey and for you guys, but sometimes I think I’m not cut out for any of it.”
Jake’s huff of air tickled the side of Riley’s neck.
“Don’t. You know that’s not true. You’re good enough, Riles. You weren’t just handed the love of three people and a career. You earned them with your own merits because you’re worthy of it all.”
And Riley had no choice but to believe Jake because he wasn’t a liar, and he was direct with his feelings. He always meant what he said, which meant that Riley was good enough; he just had to open his eyes and see it for himself.
Riley cupped Jake’s cheek and gently lifted his head. When he opened his eyes, they found Jake’s immediately.
“I love you,” said Riley.
Jake’s expression softened, and he turned his head to press a kiss into Riley’s palm, lingering there for a moment before nuzzling against the touch. Then he followed the inside of Riley’s wrist with another kiss, and another, tracing a slow path up his arm.
The affection continued to Riley’s shoulder, his neck, the edge of his jaw, each kiss unhurried and gentle. Only when he reached Riley’s mouth did he stop.
Jake brushed their lips together softly, as though he couldn't help himself.
“I love you too,” he whispered against Riley’s parted lips.
Riley refused to acknowledge the sting of tears at the corners of his eyes. He knew what he wanted, and it felt stupid to seduce a guy while crying over sappy emotions.
“If I said I wanted to have sex with you, would you like that?” he asked, ignoring the sudden thud of his heart skipping behind his ribs.
Jake blinked slowly, his gaze never leaving Riley’s. “If that’s what you want, then yes, I would like that.”
Riley’s smirk was shaky, but he managed to pull it off without it feeling like a grimace. “You’d be gentle, right? I need to be able to skate straight tomorrow.”
Jake touched their lips together with a ghost of a grin curling his lips. “I can promise you’ll be able to skate, but I can’t promise you won’t feel an ache of emptiness after I’ve been inside you.”
“Fuck that’s hot,” Kingston’s voice said from somewhere nearby.
Riley felt compelled to agree. Thinking about sex with Jake left him feeling hot all over, and the anxiety about the game was already beginning to slip from his mind.
Kingston was right. Sex was indeed the cure for performance anxiety.
“Alright, let’s go to the bedroom before I combust,” said Allen. “You have no idea how long I’ve wanted to watch you guys together.”
“We should record it,” Kingston added, returning to Riley’s earlier remark about making a video for replay purposes. “Something for us to jerk off to later.”
While Allen and Kingston began working out the finer details of something that was not going to happen, Jake continued kissing and nibbling Riley’s lips, sending tingles scattering across his skin.
“Can’t wait to be inside you.”
Riley totally wasn’t whimpering.
“Can’t wait to cover you in my scent.”
Riley clung to Jake when a wave of dizziness hit him and his head began to spin.
“I want my cum running down your thighs when you score your first NHL goal.”
“Jake—I’m going to come in my fucking pants if you don’t shut the fuck up.”
Jake chuckled and sank his teeth into Riley’s bottom lip. “You’re going to work hard for me, right, Riles? I don’t want to have to reprimand you before the season begins.”
Riley closed his eyes and groaned when he grasped how absolutely fucked he was.
Prepping for sex was awful and stressful, and Riley completed the experience with a new appreciation for Allen and Kingston, who were both smirking as he joined them on the bed.
Jake didn’t allow him time to dwell on it as he dragged Riley to the middle of their group and rearranged him until he was lying on his back, looking up at them.
“Just don’t…flip me all over the place like you do with Allen and Kingston,” Riley pleaded. “No advanced stuff, right? Just basic and vanilla.”
Kingston lowered his head to Riley’s chest and kissed around his nipple, teasing him with his warm breath and the threat of his teeth on the sensitive area.
“I’m not sure there’s anything vanilla about having three partners prepping you,” Allen said, and then he turned to Jake and said, “You heard the boy. He wants it in missionary, so let’s put the nipple tassels away.”
The joke helped calm Riley’s frazzled nerves, but the sudden pinch of teeth on his nipple had him arching and kicking his feet—knocking a grunt from Jake, who had been settling between his legs.
“Okay—wait—” Riley thrashed his arms around, reaching for Allen. “You need to sit on my face or something. I’m not cut out for lying here and taking it.”
Kingston was properly sucking on his abused nipple now, and Riley knew he was sensitive in that area, but the pleasure heightened tenfold while Allen was pulling on his hair, and Jake was running his hands along his thighs.
Allen tsked and gripped Kingston by his hair, pulling him off Riley’s nipple with an obscenely wet pop. “Put your mouth on more important areas,” he ordered, pushing Kingston’s head lower. “You’re helping Jake prep, so stop being a tease and help us distract him.”
“Yes, Sir,” Kingston mumbled as he continued the descent down Riley’s body unassisted.
Distractions were good, especially when Jake was tossing Riley’s legs over his broad shoulders and lowering his head to meet Kingston, who had his eyes narrowed on Riley’s hard cock.
“We have you,” Allen said as he swung his leg over Riley’s chest, presenting his perfect and perky ass to play with while shooting a wink at Riley over his shoulder. “Go ahead and distract yourself while we get you ready for our boyfriend.”
Riley nodded eagerly and cupped Allen’s ass in his hands, giving the cheeks a firm squeeze before spreading them and revealing a pretty, pink hole that he couldn’t wait to get his tongue on.
