Chapter Nineteen
L exi held Booker’s hand as he pulled the RV out of the Bluff Creek Brotherhood MC compound. She’d fallen in love with the people and the place. She’d adored staying in Rascal and Meg’s house the night before her wedding. Their cats, Blaze and Maisie, had entertained her with their antics, running around the room and across the furniture. When she’d been sipping her coffee the morning of the wedding and starting to get nervous, both cats had come over, crawled up on her lap, and demanded cuddles. How they knew that was exactly what she needed, she’d never know.
The snowplow barn had been where they’d had the wedding. It had been perfect, with a rustic vibe that she’d loved; but honestly, they could have gotten married at a Justice of the Peace because all she cared about was becoming Booker’s. He had incorporated giving her her Ol’ Lady cut into the ceremony. She loved it and planned on maybe wearing it to signings.
The showers for Remi and War, Ariel and Pit, and Sarah and Scoop had been a blast. They’d had so many gifts that Regina and Beth had organized it so the couples all opened the gifts from a particular person at the same time. She wasn’t sure how many hours it would have lasted with all the presents if they hadn’t done that.
Her wedding night had been so hot it had come right out of a romance novel. She still shivered when she thought about how Booker had waited until they’d left the reception dance and taken her to the side of one of the buildings near the orchard. He’d given her a handkerchief to muffle her cries if she wanted to, but he said he didn’t care who heard them.
He’d crawled under her skirt, kissing every inch up her thighs, then untied the little bows on her hips to let her panties drop to the ground. His warm breath between her legs, the cool night air, and being outside had set the perfect scene. His mouth, his tongue, and his words of how much he loved eating her pussy had her racing toward an orgasm and screaming his name in a shockingly short time. She hadn’t even had time to think of shoving the handkerchief in her mouth.
He’d stood up when he’d finished, claimed her mouth, and thrust inside her slick, hot center, lifting her against the wall of the building until she’d wrapped her legs around his waist. Pleasuring her with his mouth had him just as hot. He’d hammered inside her still-clenching channel, and he’d come quickly. He’d tried to apologize but she’d shushed him. She didn’t need an apology. She needed a promise of a repeat on their honeymoon because she’d been right there with him.
She was glad they’d had the baby showers the day after their wedding night. She’d been tender and a little sore after the multiple times he’d woken her during the night. She was also glad she didn’t have to sit in a vehicle right away.
A wet nose nuzzling her hand had her scratching the ears of her wedding present. Booker had bought her a fully trained dog from a place the Franks sisters knew. She was a mixed breed of what the trainer had thought was some type of spaniel, possibly schnauzer, along with blue heeler, and was fully grown at forty pounds. She was big enough to scare off people but small enough that she could still be a lap dog, though she overflowed Lexi’s lap. Lexi had named her Mayhem since that was the signing that they’d reconnected at, and Mayhem had already gotten a little bored and shredded a pillow. They’d be working on appropriate things to chew on.
One of their first stops on their honeymoon was going to be a large pet store in their first large city. Mayhem needed chew toys, and Lexi was also buying her some cute matching collars and leashes. Booker had hoped to take her to Nelson’s Honkytonk Saloon & Bar, but the timing for when they wanted to hit Denver made it not feasible. They’d be traveling to Bluff Creek for events, so she was sure she’d get to go there.
They were heading with the RV to Yellowstone National Park. They were stopping in Colorado for some hiking. It seemed a natural progression from their walks to hike together and talk.
Although they were taking a two-week honeymoon, Lexi had scheduled a couple days of work, and so had Booker. One of their stops was going to be a photoshoot for him. Since her passion was social media, she was also going to convince her husband to let her set him up. He was on Facebook but wasn’t taking advantage of the other social media sites, and he wasn’t good about posting pictures of himself.
She was so excited to spend time rediscovering each other. They’d barely scratched the surface of finding out about their likes and interests since they’d reconnected. They were going to chat about meals for the trip and then stop later to pick up supplies.
Regina’s Roadside Diner had packed them sandwiches for today and meals ready-made for the next couple of days for the road. Booker had taken her there for lunch before the showers on Sunday. She’d had the best onion rings and bought so many cute Bluff Creek T-shirts, sweatshirts, and other trinkets.
“What are you thinking about?” Booker asked.
Did she dare tell him what his voice did to her? His deep, gravelly voice that she’d never tire of hearing. The voice she couldn’t wait to have talk to their babies when they were blessed with them. Whether they adopted or had them, she would be happy.
“Our life and how excited I am.”
Booker smiled. He was wearing the cap from the photo shoot, and fudge, was there anything sexier than a man wearing a ball cap? They were only a little way from Bluff Creek, so it was too soon for a stop, but her man was hot.
“I am too. I’m glad we’re relaxing and taking a little time just for us. I also updated something on the spreadsheet. After last year’s D-Day celebration went so well, the MC decided to have it annually. I thought it would be fun to participate in the poker run they have.”
Lexi’s organizational self adored that Booker got her need to know what was happening and when.
“That sounds like a lot of fun. I think we have two free weekends around that time. I’d love to.”
Lexi looked over at her man and was so thankful for Compass being obstinate and not answering War’s texts or calls. She’d gotten to know him well. Whether he was a good friend to her mom or became more, Lexi would just wait and see. Because for today, life was perfect.
