Chapter NOVA

NOVA

Boone returned to the house to find me eating pizza on the couch. My daughters sat next to me. Goldie was next to Skylar while Yarrow sat on the other side of Lyric.

“Is everything okay?” I asked Boone as soon as he found a spot in a nearby chair.

“Everything’s great. Look at all my favorite foxes in one place,” Boone said. “I have a meeting to go to in an hour or so, but it shouldn’t take long.”

Goldie stopped mid-chew and narrowed her eyes. “Am I going to that?”

“No, just the men. It’s a dick-measuring meeting,” Boone replied.

“I could slice off a Joker’s dick and join the meeting.”

Our dad suggested, “Goldie, maybe keep the violent talk to a minimum in front of the children.”

“The baby foxes don’t care,” Goldie insisted and gestured at Skylar at her side.

Skylar nodded. “I don’t care.”

“Exactly,” Goldie said, smiling at how the kid had her back. “Skylar wants us to retire those bullies.”

“Yeah!” Lyric yelled, and pizza nearly flew out of her mouth.

I reminded Lyric not to talk with her mouth full. My baby smiled at me since she thought the rule was dumb. I blamed Zodiac since he would yell with his mouth full when he watched sports at our house.

“Who is going to the meeting?” I asked Boone.

“Clint, Zodiac, your brother. Nine is riding here to say his piece since Dalisay was involved. Oh, and Ford and Pax are coming to do that dick-measuring thing.”

“Should you go?” Yarrow asked Blackjack, who sat in a chair nearby with his slice of pizza.

“I’d rather stay here and make sure no one messes with Boone’s favorite foxes.”

Yarrow and Blackjack shared a smile. I glanced at Boone, who gave me a little grin. I wanted the world to go back to how it was this morning, when my biggest problem was preparing to meet Yarrow and Blackjack.

Rather than a silly fear, I was bothered by those men holding grudges about what happened today. I also sensed Boone, Dan, and the other bikers wanted vengeance. Everyone behaved so casually as if nothing big was going on, but danger crackled in the air.

“Should I go with you?” I asked Boone.

A smile warmed his face. “Look at this badass wanting to watch my back,” he told his parents while Goldie smirked. “I’d rather you stay here and entertain my parents. It wouldn’t hurt for you to praise Goldie’s hairstyle a bunch, too.”

“You look pretty,” Lyric told Goldie as she leaned over my lap to get closer. “You look like a princess.”

“Thank you,” Goldie said and ran her hand through her hair. “But I think I might hate it.”

Lyric got up and set her plate on the table before running into her room. I knew she was planning to find an appropriate hat for Goldie.

“It looks really good,” I told my sister.

“Would you want something this short?”

“Sure. I’ll cut mine to match yours,” I said and smiled. “Will you come with me to the salon?”

Goldie narrowed her gaze. “I ought to make you do it, but I can’t. Your hair is too damn beautiful. Besides, I’m not sure you’d be able to pull off a short cut with how thick your hair is.”

Though I smiled at her words, Goldie’s sassy tone couldn’t hide how much she hated her short hair. Lyric came running back and showed a hat to Goldie.

“This one has princesses. See?” Lyric said and explained who the characters were. “You are a princess now.”

Goldie slid the hat on and made a big deal out of feeling like a princess. The girls ate up her amusement, but I felt a creeping sadness.

Boone sensed my mood and asked me to speak with him alone. While the girls fixed Goldie’s hair, I followed her brother down the hall to our bedroom. Boone shut the door and sighed.

“I wish we could get naked right now,” he said, startling me. “A quickie would make me feel better.”

“Are you upset?” I asked and glanced at the bed.

“Of course.”

“You don’t seem upset.”

“That’s my job. Like when you hide your fears from the girls. We need to be strong for them, but I’m pissed off. A quickie would help.”

I glanced at the bed again. “Okay.”

“I was kidding,” he said and kissed me. “I would never rush a fuck with you. When we’re together, every moment should be savored.”

Though I shouldn’t laugh, my giggles rolled right out of me. Boone gave me a weird look.

“That’s not realistic with kids around,” I explained. “Especially if we do have a baby. Quickies might be all we get.”

“Oh, well, then, why don’t I lock the door, while you tug down your pants?”

I felt like Boone was testing me in the same way Goldie had been about getting a haircut. Once again, I refused to back down.

“Okay,” I said and reached for my front button.

I walked to the mattress, dropped my jeans and panties to my ankles, and bent forward. Boone stroked my bare bottom before dipping his fingers inside me.

“Well, you aren’t ready at all,” he teased and leaned over me to suck at my throat. “I’ll have to use my big brain to figure out a way to get you wet quickly.”

Boone knelt behind me and gave my pussy a loving lick. My knees nearly buckled from the pleasure. Wrapping an arm under my belly, Boone rested me forward on the bed and slid off my pants. He kissed my butt and returned to my pussy.

Whimpering with pleasure, I mumbled, “I feel wet enough.”

“Close your eyes and imagine we’re alone at my condo. No one is around. It’s just you, me, and your sweet pussy.”

Boone’s tongue disappeared between my folds. I quickly shoved my face into a pillow to muffle my loud moans. My toes curled when his lips found my clit. The shock of so much pleasure instantly had me racing toward an orgasm. Boone sucked at my clit until I was a limp, mumbling mess on the mattress.

“That was so easy,” he said as I flipped over and reached for him.

Stroking his wet beard, I moaned his name. He smiled softly and shoved down his jeans enough to free his cock.

“I was a little nervous about my first time,” Boone admitted as I kissed all over his face. “Now that I know how much you like that and how easy it is to make you go crazy, we’re scheduling that into our daily routine.”

The feel of Boone inside my body awoke the fearless part of myself that never seemed to come out any other time. Nothing in the world scared me when we moved as one.

Outside this room, danger might have been lurking. People probably wondered where the hell we were. But those concerns couldn’t touch me.

Right then, I only saw Boone, who watched me like I was the most fascinating creature in the world.
