Chapter 7 Blood and the Child’s Shoe
Qiu Gu ended up not getting her coffee after all.
I claimed the coffee machine was broken and asked her to leave the inn.
The door had just closed.
I rushed upstairs.
Damn it. I must not discover who had secretly hidden a child in the rooms.
Qiu Gu had a very sharp sense of smell.
I had to find him before she did.
I charged to room 201 and opened the door with the key card.
The people inside were engaged in intimate activity.
The moment the middle-aged man saw me appear, his lower part went limp.
He angrily threw a pillow at me. "You fucking idiot, are you sick?!"
I had no time to explain to him. I searched every possible hiding spot in the room.
No child was found. I immediately hurried to the next room.
Room 202 was occupied by a young couple.
When I opened the door and entered, they were staring intently at the computer screen.
I glanced over. It was clearly footage from room 201.
They had installed surveillance right under my nose.
The man stood up immediately, blocking the screen. His face turned livid.
"Boss lady, this behavior of yours is illegal. I'm going to sue you!"
His girlfriend chimed in.
"Yes, my boyfriend is a lawyer. Watch out or he'll make you go to jail!"
I searched for the child in the room while responding to them.
"Go ahead. But installing surveillance in my inn rooms seems illegal too, right?"
The two fell silent at once.
No child found. I continued to the next room.
Just as I reached the corridor.
I suddenly heard a sharp scream.
I ran over right away and kicked open the door to the last room.
There was a pool of blood on the floor.
Guo Meiyue sat in the blood, holding the child's shoe with dazed eyes.
"Child, my child... has been eaten."
