Epilogue
ANGIE
Less than six months ago I watched my brother Jay get married, and now he was here at my wedding. I smiled as he twirled his daughter, Nora, around the dance floor. Maybe not biologically his, but in every sense of the word his.
Now Izzy was the only one left, but I was sure her current situation would have her married within the year, too, if not sooner. Maybe the guys were right and there was some sort of love spell on the apartment. I still didn’t think their plan to talk the new guy, Seth, into taking the apartment next was that great of an idea. But they were convinced getting laid would help his grumpy disposition and this was the way to do it.
“So happy for you.” Izzy pulled me in for a brief hug. “You’vedefinitely had a whirlwind romance.”
I raised a brow at her. “And you haven’t?”
A blush rose to her cheeks. I knew she wasn’t sure about all that. They’d had quite a few bumps, and a lot to overcome, but things had progressed between them quickly and they seemed good now.
“Can I interrupt?” Wyatt said as he stepped up next to me. “I was hoping to dance with my wife.”
“You two are adorable.”Izzy smiled. “She’s all yours.”
She made her way back to her date and I turned toward my husband. Each time I thought or said that word it felt surreal. Him proposing after two months surprised me, but it didn’t stop me from saying yes because I couldn’t imagine a life without him.
Even more surprising was when I mentioned wanting a summer wedding and he suggested we get married this summer. Waiting a year wasn’t something either of us really wanted to do.
Wyatt’s arms wrapped around my back, pulling me flush against his body as he began moving us to the music. I laid my head on his chest, melting into his hold.
“I finally understand.”
I pulled back, raising a brow at him. “Understand what?”
“Why brides act like bridezillas.” He pressed his lips to my forehead. “They just want everything to be perfect.”
I couldn’t argue. Getting married on the beach and then having the reception in the hotel I’ve adored since the first moment I laid eyes on it was pretty damn perfect.
“You’re such a romantic.” I chuckled.
“Only because of you.”
I laid my head back on his chest and we moved to the music, holding each other close.
Everything had been perfect, and I couldn’t have asked for anything more.
