I dreamed.

A strange dream… A face floating over mine.

A familiar face… The light gray eyes with flecks of charcoal filled with curiosity. Hair as pale as moonlight wavered in a phantom breeze and golden light gilded honeyed skin, blanching the freckles scattered over a straight nose.

I recognized the crooked smile with the top lip a little fuller than the bottom—because it was my own.

But the sobbing… The sound of the lament that tore at my ears…

That was not mine.
