Chapter 1 Birthday Alone
It was almost eleven at night, and Gu Qu Nian still hadn't come back.
I sent him a ton of messages.
Today was my Birthday. I wanted him to come home early so we could celebrate together.
I even cooked a whole table of dishes, most of them his favorites.
But the food went cold, and there was still no sign of him.
My messages sank into silence.
Gu Qu Nian and I had been together for two years. He was the one who chased me first.
After a long wait, his reply finally popped up: [Not coming back tonight. Pulling an all-nighter in the Laboratory.]
I held back the ache and typed one word: [Okay.]
I scrolled up. Most of the chat history came from me.
I happily shared my daily life with him every day—what I did, what I ate.
He would reply once every few hours.

[Busy.]

I could usually forgive him, but today was my Birthday.
I sent so many messages, and he didn't even look at them.
I even learned to cook just for him, wanting to surprise him.
When I realized that, irritation surged through me. I threw the cake straight into the trash.
I opened my phone and saw messages from the brothers in the group chat.

Since Gu Qu Nian wasn't coming back, I grabbed my jacket, walked out, and rode my new Motorbike to find them.
When I reached the Hotel they booked, I unexpectedly spotted Gu Qu Nian in another Private Room.
The person who was supposed to be doing experiments in the Laboratory was now having a Gathering Dinner here, surrounded by a group of handsome guys and beautiful girls.
The chatter and laughter filled the Private Room. Gu Qu Nian had a smile on his face and was chatting happily with them.
It was completely different from the cold way he treated me every day.
A girl next to him blushed as she confessed: "Gu Qu Nian, I've actually liked you for a long time. Will you be with me?"
The room erupted in cheers.
"Accept her! Accept her..."
"President Gu, with a beauty like Li Yu Qiu, just marry her already."
Handsome guys and pretty girls sat together. The sight was pleasing to the eye.
Gu Qu Nian didn't refuse. He even looked quite pleased.
"Having fun, huh."

"Why are you here?"

The girl who confessed to Gu Qu Nian stood up and greeted me warmly.

Li Yu Qiu was beautiful, poised, and her smile was especially bright.
Even I would like her if I weren't gay.
Someone in the corner recognized me and whispered:
