Chapter 14 Zoe

ZOE

Istretch out in the bed, my body stiff and sore as I wake up from the most delicious dreams I have ever had.

Looking around the room, I soon realize I’m not in my own bed, but I am alone.

Then the imagery of last night flashes through my mind.

I can’t believe that happened. Then guilt hits me, and my stomach turns.

Will they be upset with me this morning over what happened last night?

Have I ruined their relationship? Was it one night of fun? What happens if I want to do it again?

I jump out of bed and grab my robe that is back from the garden and hanging up for me. My heart flutters in my chest at that gesture.

Slowly, I creep out of the bedroom and look down the hall to see if I’m truly alone.

I don’t want the boys to see my internal freak out I’m having, not until I have it under control.

As I sneak down the hallway, I pop my head around the corner into the living room to see if they are there, but it’s empty.

The kitchen is as well, maybe they are in the pool.

That’s good, I can make it to my room without running into them yet.

I hastily walk past the main foyer and head toward the corridor leading to my room.

“Good morning.” Mateo’s deep voice surprises me.

I scream, clutching my chest. “You scared me!”

He has a smirk on his face. “You’re rushing back to your room because you’re freaking out over what happened last night, aren’t you?”

Busted

“No.”

Deny, deny, deny.

He crosses his large arms over his chest, his bulging biceps flexing as those chocolate eyes narrow on me.

“Fine, yes, I was hiding from you both. I mean, look at me, I’m doing the walk of shame.” I wave my hands around dramatically.

His foot starts tapping and he doesn’t look happy. “Are you ashamed of what happened last night?”

No, I want to scream, but the words fail me. I stay silent for a moment too long and see Mateo’s brows pull together, and the hurt fall across his face at my non-answer.

“You’re seriously ashamed of what happened last night?”

I’m still unable to answer him. What is happening? Why can’t I say, no? It was the greatest night of my life.

Mateo nods and storms off from me.

Shit. I’ve upset him now, and that’s not what I wanted to do. I quickly follow him.

Banging of cupboards and the rustling of drawers in the kitchen tells me Mateo is upset.

“Mateo,” I say, grabbing his arm, trying to get his attention.

He refuses to look at me.

“Mateo, please,” I beg him to look at me.

His face is stony when he does eventually look at me, and I don’t like that.

“I’m sorry that I’m being awkward this morning,” I confess to him as I rub my hand over his tense bicep, hoping to calm him down. “I was worried that I might have … might have caused problems between you and Tomas.”

Mateo’s eyes widen at my words.

“If I had broken the two of you, I would never forgive myself.”

Mateo’s face softens as he pulls me into his arms. “You have nothing to worry about, my angel, with Tomas and me. We are solid. We have been for years.” He plants a soft kiss on my cheek. “I love that you are worried about our relationship. You must really care about us?”

“Of course, I care about you—you two are the most important people in my life at the moment,” I tell him.

Is that hope in his eyes?

“Only because you don’t remember anyone else,” he jokes.

“Well, yes, there’s that.” I giggle in agreement. “Even if I did remember, I would still feel this way.”

Mateo moves my arms up and places them around his neck. “You like me, hey?” he asks, giving me a cheeky smile.

“Yes. I’m pretty sure last night proved that.” I feel my cheeks turn red, remembering what we did.

“And do you think it is something you would like to do again?” he asks, walking me backward. My back hits the island. Mateo cages me in, pushing his large body against mine. I can already feel his length hardening against my thigh.

“Of course, I’m only human.”

Mateo then picks me up and places me on the island’s edge, the robe slipping open and exposing my nakedness. He looks down and licks his lips when he sees my pussy exposed in front of him.

“You’re so beautiful, Zoe,” he whispers as his hand slides up my exposed thigh.

My hand reaches out and stops him from going any further which pulls a frown across his brows.

“Tomas isn’t here. I’m not going to do anything behind his back,” I explain to him.

Mateo pouts. “Fine, but this conversation isn’t over. When Tomas comes back, I think we might have a lot to talk about.”

I think we might.

“Go get cleaned up and let us feed you breakfast,” he says as he picks me up off the island and places me back on the floor. He then sends me on my way not before giving my ass a hard slap in the process.

A hot shower does amazing things for sore muscles. I may have stood under the high-pressure showerhead for way too long, but it felt good. I quickly pull on a cute white dress, dry my hair, and throw it up into a bun before returning to the kitchen.

The boys aren’t there, but I see they are outside setting up in the pool cabana.

I walk through the glass doors and out toward where they are fussing about.

My steps slow as I take in these two handsome men.

How did I get so lucky? Mateo’s changed into yellow board shorts and a white t-shirt.

While Tomas is dressed in navy shorts and a white polo.

Both look like they have stepped out of the pages of GQ magazine.

Mateo smiles when he notices me lingering behind them. He walks over and greets me with kisses on both cheeks. “Don’t you look fresh?”

“Morning, Zoe,” Tomas calls out from behind Mateo and flashes me a warm smile.

Mateo ushers me toward the pool cabana where Tomas greets me with a kiss.

“We wanted to do something nice for you for breakfast this morning,” Tomas explains as he pulls back the curtain on the cabana to reveal a large bouquet of flowers in the center of the table. A chilled bottle of champagne in an ice bucket and a selection of breakfast tapas.

I’m taken aback by the spread. It’s set up like it’s a date. Is this a date? I’m not sure what’s going on?

“Please sit,” Mateo asks, pushing me toward the cabana booth.

I step in and take a seat on the edge.

“Move into the middle, angel,” Mateo asks.

I scoot over into the middle, then Mateo and Tomas each take a seat on either side of me.

“This looks amazing.” I stare down at the rainbow-filled platters of food just as my stomach decides to make itself known.

“Eat, you’re starving.” Tomas chuckles as he offers up a platter of food to me.

I can’t believe they did all of this for me.

“You’re going to need your strength for later,” Mateo whispers, giving me chills.

“Ouch.” Mateo winces, rubbing his shin.

“I asked you to dial back the flirting. We don’t want to scare her off,” Tomas tells Mateo.

I turn to Tomas. “I’m not going anywhere.”

“I know, but …” Tomas thinks about his words for a moment. “We have a proposition for you.”

I’m intrigued.

“Champagne?” Mateo asks, distracting me from Tomas.

I nod, then turn back to Tomas.

“As you know, Mateo and I are together,” Tomas starts.

“Lovers,” Mateo butts in.

Tomas rolls his eyes. “Yes, lovers, but because of my family and his career, we can’t be public about our relationship.”

“Tomas’s papa is the President of the National Family Party,” Mateo explains to me.

“I’ve heard of them. They are very conservative.”

“Yes, and having a son who is bisexual is not something my father wants out in public.”

“Wait, you’re bisexual?”

This makes him laugh. “Of course, how else would I enjoy eating your sweet pussy?”

I gasp at Tomas’s dirty words.

“We both like eating your sweet pussy,” Mateo adds.

“You’re both bisexual? Not that this was a one-off blip in the matrix?”

“Yes. Believe me, if we just liked dick, then last night would never have happened,” Tomas says.

I lean back in the chair, relieved that I didn’t overstep some sort of sexual line for them.

“Are you okay?” Tomas asks.

“Yeah. I was worried that what happened between us was something that might repulse you, but we all got caught up in the moment and let it happen. I was confused, that’s all,” I tell them honestly as I take a sip of my champagne to steady my nerves.

“It must have been confusing, especially after seeing us together in the pool the other night,” Tomas says, giving my thigh a squeeze.

“Tomas and I met sharing women,” Mateo blurts out.

They’ve mentioned sharing women a couple of times but never spoken about it fully.

“I bet they were stunning, smart women who deserved to be in bed with you both,” I say softly, jealous over the types of women these two have had and knowing I can’t compete not when my mind is broken.

Mateo growls and grabs my face. “How can you say that? You are smart, you are fierce, you are strong. I, no we, admire you so much, dealing with everything you have over the past month with a beautiful smile on your face, a sense of humor and maturity that people double your age could never possess. You are amazing, Zoe, whatever your last name is.” He kisses me softly, lovingly.

Then Tomas reaches out and pulls me to him and kisses me.

The butterflies in my stomach begin to flutter as these two men shower me with kisses.

“We both want you, Zoe. Do you want us?” Tomas says seriously.

How could he ever question that? “Yes,” I tell them honestly.

“And you wouldn’t mind continuing what’s happening between us all?” Mateo asks.

If he means repeating what happened last night then yes, I’m all in.

“Of course, it was fun,” I answer him.

“And you like us?” Tomas asks.

“Very much so. You both make me feel safe and secure,” I tell Tomas, and he gives me a small nod.

“Would you like to see where things go between us?” Mateo asks.

“Like date the both of you?”

“Exactly like that.” Mateo grins.

“Mateo and I would date. You and I would be dating, and you and Mateo would be dating,” Tomas explains as he rests his arm on the back of my seat.

“Is that like a threesome?” They both nod in agreement. “How would that work? Are we only together as a threesome? Wouldn’t you both need alone time as you have been in a relationship the longest? I don’t want my presence to get in the way of that.”

Mateo chuckles. “Angel, it’s sweet that you worry about us, but we’ve thought about that.”

Oh.

“We want it to be natural, like earlier in the kitchen—I had you up on the island. All I wanted to do was feast on you for breakfast, but you said no.”

“Because Tomas wasn’t there, not because I didn’t want to,” I tell him as I look between the two of them.

“I want to be able to feast on you whenever I like. Just like I want to feast on Tomas when I want.”

“Me too,” Tomas says in agreement. “Then there will be times that we will all want to be together.”

Mateo laughs. “Let’s be serious, that’s going to be a lot of the time.”

I listen to what the boys are saying, and I guess it’s the natural flow of what has been happening between the three of us this past month.

“But there are a couple of other things,” Tomas continues. “We three are together, there is no one else.”

I nod. It’s not like I’m going anywhere to meet anyone and seriously, who could compete with these two anyway?

“And …” Tomas raises his brow at me. “I will need you to be my public girlfriend if you are okay with that,” Tomas adds quickly as if he is worried about that condition.

“Mateo’s team would rather he remain single and not date anyone because of his fans and image,” Tomas says with a roll of his eyes.

Mateo holds his hands up in defense. “Not my fault.”

Tomas shakes his head. “I need a woman on my arm to fend off my family and the persistent rumors about my sexuality in the public domain. Well, our sexuality. Stories have been leaked about Mateo and me over the years, and the media attention is getting worse especially because we are never seen with a woman on our arms at events.”

“I don’t want to be publicly outed, not yet. I want to tell the world in my own time,” Mateo explains.

That’s fair enough. I place my hand in Mateo’s, giving it a squeeze. “You can trust me with your secret. I would be honored to be your beard.”

This makes Mateo break out in laughter.

Tomas frowns, then grabs me. He then kisses me, and wow, is it hot. “Does that feel like you are just a beard?”

I shake my head because it most certainly did not feel like that.

Tomas smiles. “Good, now can we get back to fucking?”
