11. Bylaws
Bylaws
Sara
I’m returning to Dante when I see David Stone at a table. Part of me really wants to storm up to him and tell him off for making Dante feel less than. Because he’s not. Dante is everything. The way I feel about him is so much bigger than words.
But I hesitate because the young woman he’s with doesn’t appear to be his wife. I’ve seen him and his wife at events before. I pull out my phone and take a few pics while looking like I’m sending a text. There’s definitely flirting there.
I don’t know if it’s anything, but maybe it will help Dante at least put his uncle’s plans to marry him off on hold.
“Ma’am.” James gestures for me to continue.
I move back to the table and slide in next to Dante before looking up at James.
“We’ll leave in a few minutes,” Dante says to James, who nods and goes to stand over in the corner again.
“Not going to lie, it’s a little creepy having someone watch my every move,” I say quietly.
“Are you okay? I wasn’t trying to hurt your feelings, pip.”
I turn and look up at Dante. His pale blue eyes are concerned as they search mine. Fuck, I love this man. I cup his jaw and kiss him softly, before resting my forehead against his.
“You didn’t hurt me, boss.” I release a breath. “I just want to help you the way you’ve helped me. You’re right. Until we talk to my parents, this is still just a fantasy. But if we need to, I will one hundred percent run away with you and get married to keep you.”
He chuckles. “Let’s hope it doesn’t come to that.”
I shrug. “There are worse things than marriage to someone I love.”
“Let’s go home.” His eyes soften and he kisses me tenderly, like we aren’t in a restaurant where anyone can see us. My heart is nearly bursting at the thought of home.
Home is now a house with Dante, Wyatt, Finn, and Drew. Well, and Tom and Natasha.
We leave the restaurant and get in the car.
“I saw your uncle.” I pull up the photos I took to show Dante before we get home.
He takes my phone and zooms in on the woman’s face. “This isn’t his normal restaurant. It’s unusual for him to be there. Maybe this is something.”
He takes the photos and sends them to his phone.
“Maybe you won’t need to marry me after all.” He wraps his arm around my shoulder and pulls me in to him.
“I’d marry you any time, boss. Just say the words.”
The car stops in front of our townhouse and Dante helps me out. We climb the steps up to the entrance for the main house. The lights are on in the lower level, and I can’t help but wonder how Tom and Natasha are doing in their space.
I haven’t forgiven my brother. Not by a long shot, but I do care about him and his wife.
Dante opens the door and I walk in. Every light in the house is on. There are boxes and furniture cluttered in rooms, but there’s no sign of the others on the first floor. Dante takes my hand and leads me upstairs to the primary where we can hear voices.
“It turns to the left, you asshole.”
My eyes widen at Finn’s tone. I’ve heard him angry before, but not like this.
“It should be facing the door,” Drew says in a much more reasonable tone.
“Fine, you move it.” Wyatt.
“You sure you want to go in there, pip?” Dante stops before we’re close enough to be seen. “We can go find a bed, a counter, a couch, or a shower and just fuck.”
I laugh and pat his chest. “As tempting as that is, it sounds like they need help.”
He shrugs and lifts me up against the wall, claiming my lips as I wrap my legs around his waist. He kisses me until I’m about ready to strip naked and let him have his way with me in the hallway, no furniture required.
His lips leave mine to trail to my ear. “I need a night alone with you, pip. To fuck you into the morning.”
I groan because I want that too. He lowers me to the ground and I look at the door. It’s gone quiet in there. They probably heard us.
“Come on. We should help,” I say.
Dante smirks and takes my hand to lead me into the primary bedroom. There’s furniture everywhere. Like too much for even a room this big.
The guys look up from where they’re scattered throughout, trying to unbox and place all this stuff.
I turn to look at Dante. “What do you think, boss?”
He cups my ass and squeezes it with a smile before turning to the others. “All right. Let’s get this sorted.”
It’s morning and there’s a traffic jam to use the shower and bathroom.
Drew mumbles something about adding another bathroom before wandering out and down the hallway to the guest bathroom. Wyatt joins me in the shower. When he reaches out to help me, I smack his hand.
“Get clean and get out. Boss’s orders.” I arch an eyebrow at him, ready to smack his hand again.
“I’m going to spank you for that, trouble.”
“Later.” I roll my eyes, knowing it’s just going to get me more spankings.
It’s our first day of trying to get ready for work after crashing in the one bedroom. Finn took Peabody downstairs to do his business. Dante was up early and went for a run. I hope he found the coffee maker and made coffee. Because I need caffeine.
We were up late getting the bedroom set up just so we could crash for the night. I don’t think anyone was thinking about sex. Well, maybe we all were, but we were too tired to do anything about it.
I get out of the shower and Peabody comes running into the bathroom to dance at my feet as I dry off.
“Did you get a walk?” I ask.
He barks.
Finn grabs my hips and pulls me back against him, kissing the back of my neck. “There’s a small yard where Peabody can go while he’s visiting.”
I sigh. That’s the other thing. If I move in with the guys, it’s not like I can bring Peabody. He’s our family dog, not just mine. Caitlyn would never forgive me for taking him, but I don’t know if I want to be without him either.
But if it’s the dog or my guys…
Still a tough decision. Wyatt gets out of the shower but leaves it running for Finn. Finn releases me and strips.
He pauses in the shower opening. “You sure you don’t want a quickie to tide you over, flower?”
I laugh. “I don’t have time for a quickie.”
He closes the shower door and gets busy. I stand at the sink and Wyatt stands beside me at the other sink. His towel is wrapped around his waist while I’ve got mine tucked under my arms.
It feels weird even though we’ve done this before. This is the first time getting ready in our house. Or what could be our house.
Wyatt smiles at me in the mirror as he brushes his teeth. All those years hoping and wishing for Wyatt, I never imagined anything like this. Just us getting ready in the morning side by side. To be honest, I didn’t imagine a lot of what Wyatt and I do together.
“Careful, trouble. Looks like that will get you a reminder.”
I put my toothbrush in the cup and lean my hip on the counter, crossing my arms beneath my breasts. I tilt my head to the side like I can’t remember and say, “Reminder?”
“If I didn’t still need to make you breakfast...” He shakes his head and takes off his towel. When he closes in on me, I catch my breath at his heat. Anticipation pours through me. He leans around me to hang his towel behind me on the hook.
His chest is close enough I could kiss it. He grabs the front of my towel and backs me against the wall before his mouth covers mine. My hands wrap around the back of his neck to hold him there.
He releases a low growl and everything in me softens and heats, ready for whatever he wants to give me.
Wyatt steps back and smirks. His cock is hard and I bite my lip because I could totally take care of that for him. Chuckling, he turns and leaves the bathroom.
Finn opens the door to the shower and raises an eyebrow. “Quickie?”
I can put my hair up in a bun. I drop my towel and join him.
By the time I make it downstairs, I’m dressed. My makeup is done. And I’ve had two toe-curling orgasms up against the shower wall. Finn follows me down the stairs. Dante comes in the front door and stops.
He’s holding a bunch of coffees in a drink holder. He offers it to me and I take it, giving him a quick kiss before he hurries upstairs to get ready.
Finn takes the drink holder from me, but I pull out my coffee and take a sip. Fuck, that’s good.
Wyatt stands at the stove and gestures to the table. “Sit, trouble.”
“Yes, sir.” I don’t need to disobey this morning. I have coffee and even got to get off, so I’m good.
Wyatt shakes his head as he clearly heard Finn and me going at it in the shower. I take a seat and Wyatt opens the oven to grab our plates. He sets an omelet in front of me and one in front of himself. Finn passes him a coffee as he drops some toast into the toaster.
Drew comes in and grins. “Now see, this I could get used to. The bathroom situation, not so much.”
He pauses next to my chair and leans down. When I tip my head up, he kisses me. He glances at Wyatt and winks.
“One of these days, you’re going to make me one of those omelets.” Drew straightens and heads into the kitchen to find his own breakfast. Finn hands him a coffee. Drew smirks, pleased. “Maybe I should have kissed you instead.”
“Don’t thank me.” Finn grabs his toast and walks over to the table. “Dante got the coffees.”
“Oh my god,” Natasha says in the doorway. “What is that amazing smell?”
“Wyatt’s eggs.” Drew leans against the counter and sips his coffee. “He only makes them for Sara.”
Her face falls a little. “Oh.”
I raise my eyebrows at Wyatt. He sighs.
“I can make you one,” Wyatt says and stands.
“Yay!” Natasha comes in and stops at the fridge.
Wyatt leans down and says for my ears only, “You owe me, trouble. I want you on your knees in my office this morning.”
My panties grow damp and I turn my face toward his. “Is that what this internship is going to be?”
He smirks. “Don’t worry. I’ll make sure you learn something.”
He goes to the stove and starts another omelet. Natasha joins me at the table with a glass of orange juice. “The fridge downstairs isn’t working right. Fortunately, we figured it out and moved everything up here before anything went bad.”
Tom comes in at the same time Dante does.
After grabbing his coffee, Dante comes over to me and lifts me up before sitting in my chair and lowering me onto his lap. “Morning, pip.”
My cheeks flush with heat but I lean back into his arms. “Morning, boss.”
Tom takes a breath and sits in the chair next to Natasha. “What do you want for breakfast, Tasha?”
“What she’s having.” Natasha isn’t looking at me or even Dante, but at my eggs.
Wyatt sets a plate with an omelet in front of her.
“Thank you,” she says. As soon as she takes a bite, she moans and lifts her gaze to Wyatt’s. “I love you.”
Everyone freezes in the kitchen. I laugh. “That’s the pregnancy talking. That baby is going to be all about her Uncle Wyatt.”
Wyatt sits next to me and finishes his breakfast. No one says anything else. Fuck, this is just going to be awkward for a while. But hopefully we’ll live through it.
As Natasha finishes, we’re all getting ready to head into our jobs.
“What’s the plan for Natasha?” I ask. “I’m sorry, I don’t even know if you have a job.”
Natasha smiles. “I work for myself. I stayed away from my father’s businesses. I’m a personal stylist.”
“Which means she’s going to come in and work in the office.” Tom rubs the back of his neck. “If that’s all right with all of you?”
“Sure, the more the merrier.” Finn glances at Drew. “What about you, fuck buddy?”
I snicker. Wyatt rolls his eyes. Drew grins.
“Sounds like a full office. I’ll just work at my own. I’ve got a guy who can watch my back.” Drew comes over and kisses me. “Depending on what’s waiting for me at work, maybe we can do lunch together.”
“I’d like that,” I say before he kisses me again.
He high fives Finn before he heads out.
Dante glances at his watch. “Our car should be here shortly.”
Tom nods. “Ours too.”
This shouldn’t be an awkward day at all.
