We were lying in her bed, watching the lilac clouds pass through the floor-to-roof glass. My hands trailing down her back, while hers played with my hair. Despite our mutual exhaustion, neither of us had fallen asleep yet.

It’d been so long that I began to question if she still wanted to have that conversation from earlier. What else could be keeping her awake? Especially when she tended to clock out after her fifth orgasm.

That or she’s questioning fate’s decision… Initially my stomach bottomed out with the thought, but then logic surfaced. Arachne loved me. I loved her.

“So, what’s next?” I chided myself as soon as the stupid question left my lips.

Surprising me, Arachne laughed. Detangling from our cuddle, she propped on her elbows. “Next you’re going to get rid of that awful cream box of a penthouse and move in here.”

She nodded before kissing me softly.

“And then?”

“And then we live happily ever after.”
