Teresa Reynova #4

On his partner as he moved them exactly where he wanted them. Needed them. Then something else popped up in my head that, without thinking, made me lick my lips.

For the most part, from what I’d noticed, he was quiet.

Sure, flirty here and there but quiet. Would he be quiet in bed or all growly and dirty talking?

Good god, I had a feeling he’d be filthy in bed.

Wishful thinking! the realist in me piped up.

I tried to shake the dirty thoughts away, but it was like I was stuck.

For all I knew, and trust me, everything inside of me wanted to assume he was shit in bed, I had a feeling it’d be the opposite.

I had a feeling he would be incredible.

The kind of incredible that would ruin you for anyone else.

The kind of insane, toe-curling greatness that would leave you hoarse and breathless and boneless from mind-blowing pleasure.

Pleasure he would happily give you. He paid attention to every little detail, not just with me but out in the field.

Our practice fields were close, and I had to admit to checking him out in the past year since he’d transferred.

But then again, that would be close to impossible not to do. Not with his height, naturally good looks, and broad shoulders, not to mention an ass you could bounce a quarter off of. Jesus, and just like that, my thoughts were back in the gutter!

“You have no idea how much I would pay to know what you’re thinking about right this minute.” I jumped, his words snapping me out of my dirty thoughts.

“Biology is fine. It’s just the professor.” I changed the subject, completely letting the words slip out without thinking.

“The professor?” he asked, a mask of indifference if it weren’t for that square jaw of his ticking slightly.

“Yeah, looks like it’s not only the year of the horse but the year of the bully, too. Maybe you’ve seen him around at whatever meetings bullies have?” I immediately regretted the words.

Jeremy might be blackmailing me into having to date him for whatever reason, but I knew deep down he wasn’t like Professor Perv. Jeremy frowned and reached over, covering my hand with his.

“Professor Gage is bullying you?” I sighed because as embarrassing as the whole thing was, it felt good to finally tell someone. My eyes drifted down to his hand on mine. Big. Strong. Protective.

“It’s nothing. A misunderstanding. I got it under con—“

“Tell me.” It was an order, a clear one, but it didn’t make me bristle like I usually did whenever anyone thought they could do that.

He squeezed my hand, quietly urging me to look at him, and when our gaze connected, I gave in.

I told him everything. It felt good to unload it all off my chest even if at the end of spilling my guts, Jeremy looked like he wanted to strangle someone.

“It’s stupid, and I mean, I shouldn’t have gone so late and—“

“Hey,” he cut me off tersely before standing up.

My eyes widened and tracked him as he rounded the table and kneeled in front of me.

His big mitt of a hand rose and cupped the side of my face.

“Don’t do that,” he said gently. “Don’t blame yourself for something that asshole did. That was on him. Not you.”

I chewed on my bottom lip, slightly shocked when his thumb stretched to pop it out and drag the pad against my full flesh.

“You’re going to hurt yourself.”

“Jeremy...” I whispered his name and watched, completely entranced by the way his Adam’s apple bobbed. My eyes fixated on that spot. The prominence of it. The heaviness. My mouth suddenly watered for another taste of Jeremy Fletcher.

“Study time, Reynova.” He winked and I blinked. Once, twice. Three times.

“Excuse me?”

“I won’t share that video of you attempting to cheat if you’ll go out with me and let me tutor you.”

“Let you tutor me?” My brain was having a hard time processing. “Do you understand the concept of blackmail?” His lips twitched, and I rolled my eyes. “Maybe I can just drop the class and take it over summer next—“

“I don’t think so, cielo. We don’t let assholes like that win.”

“We?” I repeated and quickly shut my eyes tightly. “Jeremy… I’m not sure what’s happening but—“ I opened my eyes, and my breath hitched in the middle of my throat.

“Shh.” When leaned forward, everything inside of me turned to goo. My eyes fluttered shut, positive he was going to kiss me.

He did, but not like I wanted.

His lips pressed against my cheek, then my forehead, and he was gone.

I knew he got up without opening my eyes, not just from the sound of his footsteps but the coolness and emptiness he left behind.

What the hell was I doing? The chair next to me scraped against the floor, and I peeked at him just in time to see him bring out my laptop and place it in front of me.

“Power it up, buttercup.” He winked. “We got work to do.”

“You know bio?” I asked without my usual snark. His lips twitched and he shrugged.

“Un poco.” A little. Exposing he knew more than sky in Spanish.

The man was starting to annoy me with how multifaceted he was.

And I kinda really liked it.
