Lysaria
I woke slowly, confused. Where was I? I sat up and realized that I wasn’t alone. Zayne sat in the armchair, watching me. I scrambled away from him, startled.
“It’s okay,” he said, his voice soft. “I won’t hurt you.”
I didn’t answer, staring at him with wide eyes.
I could smell his scent, the pine and rain scent that was uniquely his, and my heart pounded in my chest.
He sighed and sat forward, hiding his face in his hands for a moment.
Then he looked up, running his hands through his hair.
He must have been doing that a lot; his dark hair was sticking up at odd angles, a wild mane around his head.
“The heat will return,” he said, his eyes locking on mine.
“No,” I whispered, before I could stop myself.
“It will, I can feel it building already,” he said, “and I know you can too.” I shook my head, but he was right; the heat was already pooling low in my belly.
“Denying it won’t help,” he said, standing up and taking a step toward me. I scrambled back until my back hit the wall, standing and pressing myself against the cool paneling.
“I don’t want to scare you,” he said, with a painful expression.
Then he reached for me, his fingers brushing against my cheek.
The heat was instantaneous, spreading from the point of contact and coalescing in my core.
I gasped softly, an involuntary shudder running through my body.
He groaned, closing his eyes, his nostrils flaring.
The heat grew, spreading through my veins like wildfire, and I whimpered, my hands coming up of their own accord and clutching at his shirt. His arms circled my waist and he pulled me closer, and I whimpered again.
“I know,” he whispered, “We’ll figure it out, somehow, I promise.” Then his lips covered mine, moving gently, devouring me slowly. I couldn’t suppress the small sigh that escaped me. His mouth was soft and warm, and he was so tender, so gentle.
The fire in my veins surged, reacting to him, his scent, his touch, his kiss. I moaned softly, my body leaning into him, even as my mind shied away from what was happening. He stroked my back gently and lifted his head, looking into my eyes.
“If you want me to, I will go. I’ll leave and you can lock the door, lock me out. I won’t force you, Lysaria,” he said, his voice a rough growl, his muscles rigid. I stared at him in shock. I didn’t understand, couldn’t think with the fire in my veins.
“But the heat?” I whispered, my voice catching slightly.
“I would rather burn in the torture of an unfulfilled heat than cause you a moment more of pain, Lysaria,” he replied, his voice steady, his eyes serious.
My fingers clutched at his shirt, the fabric soft, and I looked up at him.
He was giving me the choice. No one had ever done that before.
I didn’t know what to say, what to do. The heat was clawing at my insides, demanding relief, demanding him.
He saw my indecision and stepped back. It felt like tearing a part of myself away, and I whimpered again. He growled in frustration and turned away from me.
“Please,” I whispered, not sure if I was asking him to leave or if I was asking him to stay.
He turned back to me, and the tortured expression on his face decided me.
I took a step toward him, my hands coming up to rest on his chest.
Then I looked into the stormy grey of his eyes, searching for something I couldn’t name.
“Please, Zayne,” I said, and with a groan, his lips crashed down on mine once more. His arms went around me, pulling me flush against him. I could feel the hard, hot length of him pressed against my stomach, and the shudder that went through me was a potent mix of fear and hunger.
He lifted me, one arm going around my back and the other slipping under my knees. I gasped softly, my arms going around his neck instinctively.
“Shhh,” he said, as he laid me down on the bed.
“Let me help. I promise I won’t hurt you.”
His hands went to the tie of my robe, deftly undoing the knot and peeling the fabric away from my body.
I trembled as he gently raised the t-shirt over my head.
Then he shed his own clothes, joining me on the bed.
He laid beside me, propped up on one elbow, staring down at me.
He leaned down and kissed me again, so gently it made tears come to my eyes. I didn’t understand any of this, but the heat was burning within me, and so far, he hadn’t actually hurt me. My hands moved to his shoulders, not pushing him away, but clinging to him, desperate for him to make it stop.
His lips left mine and traveled along my jaw, down my throat, and across my collarbone, making me gasp and shudder.
His hands spanned my waist, holding me steady, grounding me in the moment.
Then his lips closed over my nipple, and I arched my back, crying out as the sensation overwhelmed me.
I felt his low rumbling growl vibrate through me as he suckled.
I writhed beneath him, each pull of his mouth sending a tendril of heat straight to my core.
His hand slid down my stomach and gently stroked through the curls at the apex of my thighs. I whimpered in fear but parted my legs, my need for his touch too visceral to deny. His fingers parted my folds, and I blushed when he found me soaking wet and needy.
His fingers were magic. He found a spot that made me writhe and cry out, my body clenching around the empty air. Then he removed his hand, releasing my nipple with a wet popping sound. I whimpered, my fingers digging into his shoulders.
“Please, Zayne,” I said again, still not sure what I wanted, only knowing that I was burning up from the inside out.
“Don’t worry, little one, I’ll fix it, I swear,” he said, his voice rough.
Then he moved over me, his hard length pressing against the slickness of my entrance.
I shuddered again as he slowly slid into me.
The stretching was almost unbearable; he was large and fully aroused.
But he took his time, letting my body adjust to the invasion.
Then he began to move, slowly, steadily, and I gasped in surprise as pleasure shot through me.
“It’s okay,” he whispered, resting his forehead against mine.
“I’ve got you, just let go.” His pace quickened slightly, and I couldn’t suppress a moan.
His hands framed my face, and he kissed me again, his tongue slipping past my lips and stroking against mine.
The heat built higher, consuming me, and I cried out, throwing my head back as I shattered, my muscles clenching around him.
And that’s when it happened. It was just a flash, a pair of wild silver eyes looking out from the shadows of my mind. I felt him tremble as he found his release, his eyes never leaving mine. He had felt it too; I could tell by the way he was looking at me.
“What was that?” I whispered, confused. Zayne smiled and softly kissed my forehead.
“That is your wolf, little one.”
