Chapter 16 #2

“You need to come home brother,” Trick whispers in the quiet room half an hour later, the only sound echoing is the water as I scrub my hands.

I watch the blood from the torture I put that fucker through before I sliced his throat flows down the drain, but I shake my head and grunt, “I’m not ready and besides, that isn’t a decision I’ll make on my own. ”

The Carnage brothers weren’t happy when we hung up, pissed they missed out on torturing their first lady's attacker – their words, not mine – but it is what it is. They were furious when Trick mentioned he’s about to meet her, which even for me that’s too much, too soon.

I’m just not fucking ready. I’m not ready for any of them to meet her and I won’t make a choice on what to do with my life without speaking to my girl.

“I’ve said it once, I’ll say it again,” Blade says as I dry my hands, “Where you go, she goes…”

I sigh but nod because I know he’s right, but I’m still not ready, and I say to Trick, “Come on fucker, let me introduce you before I ride her back home.”

“It isn’t your fucking home,” he grunts as I walk past him, but I ignore him and leave the torture chamber.

I walk into the clubhouse a few minutes later with Trick hot on my heels, and my eyes go straight to my girl sitting on the floor, playing with Tate, Fury’s daughter.

Shaking my head, I walk over to Drew, who, as if she can feel me, looks my way, and her face lights up, making my whole body relax and I can’t help but smile.

“Fuck, I can see it,” Trick mutters behind me, but again, I ignore him as Drew stands and walks my way, as Anna takes her seat on the floor with Tate, distracting her. I quickly remove my cut before she stops before me.

Grinning, I wrap my cut over her shoulders, helping her put it on. I hear Trick suck in a breath before I take my girl into my arms, and she grips my shirt as we lock eyes.

“I didn’t shoot him,” I promise with a smirk, and she scrunches her nose and admits, “I don’t want to know…” and I chuckle before gently pressing my lips against hers quickly before pulling back.

“Little bird, I would like you to meet someone,” I murmur before I maneuver her into my side, and I wrap my arm around her waist and face her towards an emotional-looking Trick.

I introduce, “Little bird, this is one of my best friends, Trick.” I look at my friend, my brother, and I say, “Brother, I’d like for you to meet the love of my life, Drew. ”

Trick's jaw works as he gives me a nod in understanding before he softens his face and holds his hand out to Drew and says, “It’s nice to finally meet you, sweetheart.”

Drew smiles and shakes his hand as she says, “It’s nice to meet you, too,” before she lets go and asks, “Is it true you managed to trick an entire police force into believing their servers went down just so you could get out of a speeding ticket? And your father, that a raccoon drank all his beer?”

Trick lets out a surprised laugh, and I chuckle as he admits, “Yeah, sweetheart, I did, I’m quite good at computers and really fucking good with tricks, hence my road name.”

“You should have seen the shit he did in school and the tricks he’s played on his wife,” I add, and Trick winces. He’s probably remembering putting a snake in Clark’s car three days after she passed her test, and she ended up crashing it, only it was a toy snake.

Fucker felt guilty after that…

“Huh,” Drew mumbles, before she says, “I’m pretty sure I got a speeding ticket yesterday…” and laughter echoes around us, the Dark Angels members all hearing her as her dad grunts, “I swear, she takes after her mom where driving is concerned,” while I drop my head with a groan, “Little bird...”

She says innocently, “What? I was running late, they were nearly out of cream cakes at the bakery.”

Fuck’s sake.

“I swear, you’re going to be the death of me,” I grunt as I kiss her head, and she leans into me as Trick chuckles, “I’ll fix it,” before he looks at me and states, “I like her.”

“Why does everyone I meet in your family say that?” Drew asks with confusion, and Trick asks, “Who has she met from the family?” with a raised brow and a look that says, if it’s the other brothers, then I’m a dead man walking.

“Just my parents, though, that was by phone,” I say, just as Drew shocks me and admits, “And your sister. She called me right before jackass stormed in.” She looks at me softly, “She misses you and wanted me to convince you to go home.”

I flinch as Trick questions, “What did you tell her?”

Drew smiles slightly and admits, “I told her I wouldn’t make him do something he doesn’t want.

I told her where he goes, I will go, so I’m not keeping him away from her family when her tone suggested otherwise.

I promised her I’ll try and convince her brother to call her.

” She looks at me and demands, “Call her or no sex for a month.”

My lips twitch as Trick laughs, “I really fucking like her,” while Drew just raises a brow.

“No sex, huh?” I confirm with amusement, and she nods seriously, and I give in, “Okay, baby, I’ll call her.”

Drew grins widely before focusing back on Trick, getting to know him and all the shit we got up to growing up as Blade joins us. We all begin to talk and the contentment surrounds me, a feeling of…hope. I can have this with my club if I can get my fears and guilt under control.

Fuck… I have hope.
