Basher
The constant beeping beside him was starting to get fuckin’ annoying.
How was anyone supposed to get any rest with those motherfuckers beeping in his ear?
A batch of black hair covered part of his left hand.
He loved that even as Cameron slept, the boy still wanted to feel connected to him.
That was love.
How long had the poor guy been sleeping at his side?
He knew he’d been in and out of consciousness over the past few days. He knew he had undergone surgery, and then some doctors said something to him and Marcus—nothing he could remember at the moment. He remembered Cameron holding his hand as he drifted off to sleep.
He remembered Cam promising to stay with him all night. Even when the nurses and the guys had tried to convince him to get some sleep and let someone else take over, Cam had stubbornly refused.
He had argued with everyone.
Why Cameron was so good to him was beyond a mystery. He didn’t deserve it. He wasn’t a nice guy; he didn’t do nice things. Guys like Cameron deserved someone who was sweet, charming, and smart as hell.
He was none of those things.
Yet for some reason, the boy clung to him like he meant everything to him.
Basher lifted his hand and gently dragged his fingers through Cameron’s jet-black hair.
Cam moaned. He lifted his head slowly, then smiled when he realized Basher was awake.
“How are you feeling, babe?” Cameron asked, running his hand gently up Basher’s leg, not realizing what his touch was doing to him under the thin hospital sheet.
“I feel like I was hit by a truck.”
Cameron sat up straighter, then leaned across to hold Basher’s hand.
“How about being hit by six close-range bullets, then undergoing a four-hour surgery?”
“Yeah, that will do it.”
“You could have died, Rambo,” Cameron argued.
“Yeah, well, I was protecting my guy,” Basher said, giving him a weak, strangled smile.
“Yeah, well,” Cameron shot back, “I’d prefer my guy to stay alive and breathing while he’s doing all this protecting.”
Basher squeezed his hand and grinned.
“I’d happily take on a barrage of bullets if it meant keeping you safe.”
Cameron groaned dramatically and shook his head.
“You’re unbelievable.”
“What?” Basher asked innocently.
“You make it sound like getting shot is some grand romantic gesture.”
Basher shrugged. “Maybe it is.”
Cameron snorted. “Most guys bring flowers.”
“Flowers die.”
“And apparently so do boyfriends who insist on body-blocking bullets.”
Basher chuckled softly, then brought Cameron’s hand to his lips and kissed the back of it.
“Good thing I’m too stubborn to die.”
Cameron smiled and leaned forward, resting his forehead against Basher’s.
“You better be. Because I’m planning on annoying you for the next sixty years, big guy.”
Basher’s eyes softened.
“Sounds perfect to me, babe.”
“Jesus, I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit,” a mocking voice announced from the doorway.
They both turned toward the door and watched as Marcus and Bradly, Basher’s old boss from the Death Cruisers MC, walked in together.
“Jealous?” Marcus said, giving his old friend a welcoming smile.
“Of what? Your near-death flirting?” Bradly shot back. “Hard pass. Some of us prefer our romance without the bullet holes.”
Basher chuckled.
“What are you doing here?”
“This man came to pay us a visit out in the desert and explained what happened to you. So, of course, the boys and I hopped on our bikes and drove down to see you right away.” Bradly stopped at the other side of his bed and gripped his arm. “How are you feeling, buddy?”
Basher shrugged.
“I’ve had better days.” The guys in the room laughed. “But I’ve got great nurses and people caring for me.” Basher held up Cameron’s hand. He hadn’t mentioned to his boss that he had started seeing someone, but it was clear as shit that the two of them were together.
Bradly extended his hand toward Cameron.
“You must be the brave young man who saved our Basher from the Caplan crew. It takes one hard-ass son of a bitch to break through this man’s walls and capture his heart. It’s nice to meet you, son. You two make a handsome couple.”
Cameron glanced down at Basher as he shook his boss’s hand.
“I think we both managed to break through each other’s walls and found what we’d both been missing all along,” Cameron stated.
Basher still couldn’t believe that someone like Cameron wanted to be with him.
“So, what happened with Caplan?” Basher asked, speaking of the devil.
“Well, Marcus and his guys brought Tony to us. Then we arranged a sit-down with Caplan Sr. and basically told him that if he didn’t end this and control his son, our two clubs were going to crush his crew.
The man was pissed but agreed to rein in his son.
He also said that the hit on you had been canceled and that no harm would come to you if you decided to return to Vegas. ”
Bradly looked at Basher and Cameron both.
“But I’m getting the sense that you might not be interested in coming home?”
Basher looked over at Marcus.
“If it’s alright with you and Brad, I’d like to switch clubs and stay with the Shadow Vipers permanently.” He reached for Cameron’s hand once again. “I’ve found my home and can’t imagine my life without this amazing guy.”
Marcus smiled.
“We’d love to have you, brother. You know the whole crew already considers you as one of us. That’s why they all came out to rescue you. They did that for you, not because I asked them to.”
Bradly patted Basher on the chest.
“You’ll always be one of our brothers, too, Bash, and anytime you and your man want to visit, you’re always welcome.”
“Thanks, boss. I’d love to see the rest of the guys, for sure.”
“Well, in that case.” Bradly turned toward the door, where several burly men with beards and tattoos were hovering, waiting impatiently to see their biker brother.
Basher’s eyes went wide.
All the guys from the Death Cruisers were standing in the doorway.
“What the?” Basher began before his room was flooded with pushy, rough, and rowdy men.
“What the fuck, Bash? We didn’t send you to New Mexico to fucking die!” Felix, one of his brothers from the Death Cruisers, chirped.
“You could have at least told us you were planning on smashing face with those Caplan bitches,” another added.
“Seriously, bro, we missed the fuck out of you,” Armen, a five-foot-eight brother, gushed as he stepped past the other guys and wrapped his arms around Basher’s bruised and battered chest.
Basher winced. He couldn’t believe all the guys were here.
More men flooded in, some accompanied by members of the Shadow Vipers, some distracted and hitting on the nurses who came into the room, wondering what was going on in the suddenly noisy space.
“Is this your new guy? I always had a feeling you liked dick,” Elliot, one of the youngest members of the club, asked, smiling over at Cameron as he slapped Basher on the chest. “He’s cute. I see now why you don’t want to leave this place.”
“Keep your eyes in your head, or I’ll rip them from your skull,” Basher warned. “This one’s mine, and I’m keeping him.”
“It’s all good, man. I saw a cute one out in the waiting room earlier. I think he might be straight, but you never know with these horny biker dudes.”
Cameron chuckled.
“It’s nice to meet you too. You’ll have to tell me which guy it is, and I can give you the lowdown on his sexual preferences later.”
Basher could see the excitement in Cameron’s eyes. Love was addictive, apparently.
“For sure. He’s cute as fuck, likes to build fires, someone told me.”
“Hmm, that almost sounds like Damian,” Cameron said, glancing over at Ace, who was eagerly listening in on all their conversations.
Ace gave Cameron one of his evil smirks.
“If it is Damian, I’m pretty sure he’s let the odd dude suck him off once or twice in the men’s room.” Ace gave Cameron a wink. “I even caught him once, railing a chick from behind as her boyfriend played with his ass. So, you never know.”
Marcus slapped his little brother on the back, causing the guy to squeak.
“Perhaps you should stop sharing intimate details of your brothers’ sex lives? The last thing we want is to out someone who’s not ready to come out.”
Ace turned to his brother. “You’ve got a point. But if that boy is closeted, I don’t think he realizes that his closet is translucent. The whole fucking bar can see what that boy is playing with.”
They all chuckled.
Basher looked around the room at all the people who had come to see him. Him! Perhaps he meant more to these guys than he originally thought.
He smiled to himself.
“Hey, is it all right if a few of us spend some time up here visiting you? I thought we could stay at your place, come visit you in the hospital during the day, kind of thing?” Elliot asked, with a few of his brothers nodding behind him.
“Yeah, for sure! I’ll be in the hospital for a couple of weeks, but you guys are more than welcome to crash at my place and stay as long as you want.”
The guys around him gave themselves high fives.
“Cam, do you mind giving them the key?” Basher asked.
“I can take them up to your place and help get them all settled in,” Marcus offered, turning to the rest of the group. “I think it’s time that we all left and gave you some time to rest.”
“Sounds good,” they all agreed, saying their goodbyes to Basher and Cameron, promising to bring them breakfast in the morning and not to break any of their things at home.
Basher knew better. The boys were basically bulls in a china shop. They all had trouble focusing, and half the time they were piss-drunk or busy partying.
His house stood no chance.
Once they’d all left, Cameron closed the door to Basher’s room and locked it.
He stared at Basher with what could only be described as raging lust in his eyes before slowly stalking toward his bed.
Basher swallowed hard.
“Umm, you do realize that my body is barely holding itself together, right?”
Cameron nodded but didn’t say a word.
Once he reached the bed, he lifted the sheet and slid his hand gently under his hospital gown.
Basher gasped when Cameron’s cold hand wrapped itself around his quickly thickening cock.
It appeared that not all of him was broken.
“Mmm, looks like someone is excited to see me,” Cameron said, licking his lips as he slowly pulled back the sheet and moved Basher’s hospital gown to the side. “I’ve been dying to do this ever since you woke up this evening.”
Cameron leaned forward, then ran his tongue from the base of Basher’s balls to the tip of his hard cock.
“Jesus…” Basher moaned, his eyes rolling back as he stared up at the ceiling.
He was never going to get used to having such a hot mouth wrapped around his dick.
“Mmm, I love how hard your cock gets for me. Once your stomach is healed, I’m going to ride the fuck out of this monster, but until then, you’ll have to take out all your aggression on my throat.”
With that, Cameron swallowed Basher’s cock all the way down to its base.
The warm wetness felt incredible. The guy was a god, a sexual deity sent from the heavens to drain his balls and torture his soul.
Basher combed his fingers through Cameron’s midnight hair as he guided his head up and down the length of his shaft.
Ten minutes later, he was shooting his load down Cameron’s hungry throat and wondering how he ever got so lucky.
He had spent his entire childhood jumping from one foster home to the next—always being discarded and cast aside, never being selected or chosen.
But now, here he was with not one but two biker families who stood by his side and protected him—something he never thought he’d have while growing up.
Caressing the side of Cameron’s head, he stared down at the rosy cheeks and blissful look on the young man’s face.
Fuck, he had never seen a more gorgeous sight.
Somehow, this incredible man—with the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile he’d ever seen—had chosen him.
Not just to love him, but to stand with him—to support and take care of him when life knocked him down.
He’d finally found a place where he felt like he belonged.
Staring into his love’s eyes, he couldn’t remember ever being this happy.
“I love you, Cam,” Basher happily whispered.
