Chapter 65

SINN'OUS

“What happens when I get out?”

Sinn'ous can tell this question has been eating at Izz since Charles Bennett left two days ago. It appears that the processing time has run its course.

“You will stay at my house, the same one your mother and sister have been living in. My brother will pick you up and take you there, where he’ll stay too. Until I get out in a few months.”

Izz’s head snaps up, hands still tightly wrung together in his lap where he’s sitting on Sinn'ous’s bunk. “You have a brother?”

“Yes.”

“You never told me you had a brother.”

“Has your mother not mentioned him?”

“Zayne?” At Sinn'ous’s nod Izz continues, “she told me about him, but I thought he was just a friend, or a contract worker. She said he spends most of his time in the basement doing house repairs. Keeps it off limits to them so they don’t accidentally get hurt.”

“Yes. Well, he is my brother.”

“What about your parents?”

He could tell Izz the truth, that his parents were murdered, he can’t remember them, and he was taken in by his father and named by the man. None of which was under any legal standards for adoption, nor was his adoption planned on his father’s part.

He doesn’t remember the murders, but he knows he was a witness to them. His father had told him the story many times.

Sinn'ous shoves those thoughts to the side, he won’t be going into them right now.

He’s sure Izz’s not mentally prepared for it, and frankly neither is Sinn'ous. He’s still fighting the resurfacing nightmares clogging his dreams. Something he is sure has to do with Izz in some way.

They started popping back up when Izz landed in his lap, so chances are high it’s not a coincidence.

So he goes with the simple answer. “I was adopted. Don’t remember them.”

Izz’s face falls, and his eyes soften. “Oh . . . I’m sorry.”

A frown threatens, and he beats it back. “Why?—” He cuts himself off, because why is he asking this? “Never mind, it’s not relevant. Zayne will pick you up, and he will watch over you.”

“Alright.”

He can tell his boy wants to ask more, and he is glad when anything further is held back. It helps too that the alarms for lockup sound. However, when Izz stands to leave Sinn'ous blocks his path.

“You will be remaining here tonight.” Something that is a reoccurrence on nights when Rogers or Cunningham are assigned watch for A-Wing.

It’s all but effortless to push Izz back onto his bunk, where he plans to fuck Izz under the ever-present eyes of Satan Himself. Covering his boy with his body, he brings his lips down to take Izz’s in a deep hungry kiss. Biting lips and dueling tongues. His boy practically melts under him.
