Chapter 6 #2
She knew that was true, and before she'd gone through the change, Ariel had explained all that to her.
It was true that she hadn't really understood how different the need to eat and the amount she needed to eat would be, but she knew it now. There were many differences between humans and wolves. Her senses were so much better, and she was stronger and faster than she had ever been. Her wolf was also inside her head, and it was like having a best friend that you took everywhere with you. Cally had worried about making the change, but she had to admit she had not regretted it. She’d even encouraged her mother to do it, but she refused.
Many of her family had gone through the change, some by mating and others through Ariel’s ceremony.
She had to admit, even with all the advice she’d gotten before her change, she was still learning things about being a wolf.
The things she was learning now were mainly about a fated mate and how to handle an alpha wolf.
“Why don’t we turn in early?” Carlos asked.
“I’m all for it.”
“What about a little shower sex?”
“I love it,” Cally admitted.
They hurried to the bathroom, and they stripped in seconds.
Damn, her mate was fine. His chest was broad and well-muscled, and his waist was narrow.
His cock was long and thick and bobbed as he moved.
He turned, and she could see his ass, which she loved to look at.
To her, he was a dream, and her need washed all over her.
She couldn’t wait to get in the shower, and now he had the water on.
“After you.” He said as he held the door open.
The shower was large, but not the biggest one in the house.
It had been the closest one, and he was needy too.
She stepped inside, and he followed her.
He gently pushed her under the showerhead, and once her hair was wet, he began washing it.
Firm but gentle, he massaged her head. He rinsed the shampoo off, and then he began to work his way down her body.
He was setting her on fire even though he’d only washed her breasts.
Her nipples were hard and distended. When he rinsed them off, he sucked on them one at a time. Damn, that felt good.
Carlos moved on down her body, washing her then rinsing her off, skipping the area that wanted him the most, between her legs.
Working his way down the front of her legs, he worked his way up the back of them.
He squeezed her ass cheeks and washed them before working up her back.
Once everything else was squeaky clean, he returned to the front to clean between her legs.
This felt so marvelous that she held onto him to stay upright.
Just what he was doing gave her an explosive orgasm.
“Oh, dear God!” She screamed.
“No, it’s just me.” He chuckled.
“My turn.” She was clean, and it was time for him to get just as clean.
He lowered his head so she could shampoo his hair. Once she had done that, she rinsed it. It was obvious he’d like her to massage the shampoo into his hair, and he now had an incredible erection. Carlos could see the look in her eyes as she stared at his cock.
“No, I want to be inside of you.”
A guy who could turn down a blow job? That was the new one on her, but if that's what he wanted, that's what he would get.
She finished washing him off, and then he lifted her up with her back against the shower wall and her legs wrapped around him as he slid inside her.
Damn, that felt incredible. He slowly slid out, then slid in again, faster and faster.
Until she was going crazy. Cally had never felt like this before.
Her mate was amazing, and he was making her feel so much pleasure she was about to explode.
When she did, she took him with her, and they squeezed each other and pounded against each other, and she almost thought that she would black out from an excess of pleasure.
She lay back in the bed, and her breath came in gasps as she tried to get her heart under control.
Cally noticed that he was having the same problem, and that made her smile.
Once they both got under control, he pulled her against him and wrapped his arms around her.
She felt a calm that she had never felt before, and all the stress seemed to disappear for now.
That was something that would probably come back, but right now she felt like she could sleep deeply and for a long time.
Nothing was going to interfere with that, and she relaxed against him, her breathing calmed. And she was asleep in seconds.
Cally started to wake, and she was pleased that he was still in bed with her and that she could feel his marvelous body pressed against her.
Her body felt energized and ready to go for the day, since the sleep she had gotten was better than she had had in a long time.
Her mind was clear and ready to work on whatever problems might present themselves.
Carlos seemed to be awake, too, and she ran her hand over the arm that held her.
“I hate to get out of bed.” He admitted.
“I agree with you. If we had time, we could lounge around all day long.”
“I wonder if we will ever have the time to take a day off and just do that?”
“I'm sure we will eventually, but today is not that day,” Cally admitted.
She moved and got out of bed, then ran to the shower to clean up and wake up. When she was dressed, she headed to the dining room where she found him waiting for her. He took a very quick shower, and he dressed in no time because he always did so faster than she did.
“What do we do today?” Cally asked.
“We were working in the field for half a day, and then we needed to make sure that we had places available for all of our guests to stay.”
“The large number of guests will not come for a week. Tomorrow, only Bea and her team will show up. That will be half a dozen people. They are all aware of paranormals and our world.”
“I guess you want to work in the field a whole day?” Carlos asked.
“We need to catch up, and we will be taking off at least one day for the wedding.”
“When you're right, you are right. That's what we'll do. When we get home after work, we need to make sure rooms are available for your cousin and the others.”
“Is that something you usually do?” Cally asked.
He blushed, and he said, “I don't usually do the job itself, but I checked to make sure it's been done.”
“Let's get our breakfast, and then we can go.”
They ate fast, and the food was good. She packed lunch from the breakfast leftovers, got two cups, and filled them with coffee.
His coffee was black, and hers had a lot of cream.
There was a bag, and she placed everything in it.
Now it was time to go. They would have to work hard to get ahead.
When they arrived at the office, she let him grab the list while she resupplied the truck.
Once he presented the list, they were ready to go.
He often picked the location that was furthest away for them to work first.
It might be a mistake to do that all the time, because everyone would know.
Maybe she should have said something, but she didn't, and when they got there, someone was waiting for them.
They just stood there holding guns and waiting for them to get out of their vehicle.
Why would they do that? Cally rolled down the window, pulled out her stun gun, and began to shoot.
When Carlos saw what she was doing, he did the same.
Those stupid guys just stood there watching them and letting them stun them.
Since there were only half a dozen guys, they were able to stun them all.
Then she hopped out of the truck and went over to them, beginning to restrain them.
She felt pretty good about the job they had just done, and she called the warden while Carlos called his people. Next, she approached the door and knocked on it, and the man who came to the door had a sawed-off shotgun. Now she knew why the bad guys hadn't tried to enter the house.
“Did you see those guys out there?” The homeowner asked.
“I did, and we had to stun them. The cops are coming to take care of them.”
“Criminals are just getting crazier. That's why I got my shotgun here, ready just in case. Someone broke into the house and robbed me last year, and that's not going to happen again. As soon as I saw that security systems were available in the area, I signed up for one. My name's Hank by the way.”
“My name is Cally, and my partner is Carlos.” She introduced him because he had come up and was standing next to her.
They finished the job and moved on. There was no trouble the rest of the day, and they hurried home so they could make sure that everything was set up properly for Bea.
When they arrived, Bea was already there, and she and her people were sitting at the dining room table, enjoying a snack.
When she looked up and saw Cally, she jumped up and ran over to her, hugging her hard.
“It's been a while.” She observed.
“Far too long, but we're both so busy.”
“You're going to be even busier now. First you mate and then come the kids.” She laughed. “I'll admit I thought I would be first.”
“So did I.” Cally laughed too.
Bea gave Carlos a long, hard look. “Take care of my cousin, or I'll be back.”
“My intentions are only the best. She is everything to me.” He replied.
That was the right answer, and her cousin calmed down and led her to the table so she could sit with them and hear about all the wedding planning.
Carlos hung around for a little while so that he felt lost among all the talk of dresses and flowers.
She noticed he had slipped away, and she was sure he wasn't going to be back.
He was probably in the kitchen eating supper and going over some of the other work that he had.
“Ariel said you wanted a white dress, and she gave me some parameters, so I went ahead and ordered the dress since I knew your size. I think you'll love it. There's a veil that matches. Take a look.”
Cally took a look, and she loved the dress. It showed just enough cleavage to be sexy without looking desperate. It had short sleeves, and the skirt billowed out. There was no train, and she didn't really want one.
“You've outdone yourself.”
“Here are pictures of the bouquets, and Andi and her mate will be bringing all the flowers in a refrigerated van so they can stay for the wedding,” Bea observed.
“That is so good of her. I don't know if we have a flower shop around here or not.”
“It's one less thing to worry about. She'll also be bringing the candles and other decorations. This is an example of one time that it pays to the family.”
“What about what Carlos will wear?” Cally asked.
“He'll be in a white tuxedo with a dark blue bowtie. It’ll go with your flowers.”
“He’s going to look so hot.”
“You will be an amazing couple,” Bea observed.
She sat up with her cousin and helpers for hours into the night before finally realizing how late it was and turning in.
Carlos was asleep, but as soon as she got into bed, he automatically reached for her and pulled her close.
It made her feel bad that she had left him alone for so long before coming to bed.
“I understand.” He whispered.
While it was true that she hadn't seen any of her family in a few months, Carlos had not taken the time to socialize with many of his people either.
They had both been wrapped up in getting the business started and the issues they had to deal with.
Neither had figured out what the best way to deal with those human racists would be.
They took many of them out, but they kept coming up with more.
She knew that they needed to find whoever was sending them and take them out, but they had no luck in doing so.
Cally felt sleep coming for her, and in moments, she was sleeping deeply next to her mate with his arms wrapped around her.
In the morning, it was time to get back to work.
This morning, her cousin was sitting at the table again with her helpers, working hard to plan the wedding.
It was amazing how much work it was to set the plans in motion.
They had sent out the invitations, and now they were tracking who would come and who wouldn't. This was important so they would know how many rooms they needed and where they would put everyone.
Several that had quarters would have to double up to make rooms available for some of the visitors.
Cally was sure that some would not find that pleasant.
At least most of the guests were only staying for the weekend.
Some were only staying for one day, but others might stay for a week.
Many of her cousins had responsibilities that they could not duck for long.
A few of them would not be able to come at all, even though they wanted to.
She understood the difficulty of getting off work for events like this, especially with little notice.
As the day grew closer, she had to admit that she was getting excited and looking forward to marrying her man.
Even though she was a wolf herself, she wasn't sure if she would ever remember to say male or wolf instead of man.
She was glad that no one seemed to be talking about the wedding or the visitors who would soon descend upon them.
It was best if no one knew Ariel was coming, because that would make her and the other visitors targets.
Just two more days, and it was becoming obvious that there was going to be a big affair because a few of the visitors had arrived.
Ariel and several of the others would not arrive until the day before.
