Epilogue

James Hyatt

“Oh—Hyatt. Just the man I was looking for.”

“Hey, Doc. What floor?”

“Fourth, please. So I was thinking. Kiera’s a nurse.”

“She is.”

“Is she happy at her current job? Because, as you know, we need a full-time nurse in the med bay, and Nurse Tina is retiring this year.”

“Fuck, that would be awesome. I’ll talk to her when I get home. But, uh…you know she’s six months pregnant, right?”

“Of course. But I’d like to interview her. If she’s a good fit, we’ll make it work. Besides, it might make you less cranky to have her closer during the day.”

“Who the fuck is calling me cranky? It’s Beckett and Coach, ain’t it? They’re fuckin’ lying. I’m never fucking cranky. You tell ’em that. Fuckers. Are you laughing at me?”

“Oh no, never. Absolutely not.”
