CHAPTER 24 #4
“I let you go at it alone for six weeks, while I what? Played a game? I should have fought, thrown the gloves, grabbed you by the shirt and never let you go. But that is done now, right?” He took my chin in his hand and tilted my crying eyes up at him.
“Right?” His voice deep and serious, his mouth a breath away from my face.
I nodded.
“We both understand how much we are to each other?” His hand gripped me tighter and his eyebrows shot up in question. He was being very domineering and it was hot.
“Yes. I don't want to go another moment without you.”
“I will always fight for you Lucy, even if that means fighting with you and that fucking mouth that I fell for the moment I met you.” He kissed me then, soft and warm and so deep I felt it in my marrow.
“I'll fight for you too Sasha.”
“Promise?” He choked out. Emotions swirled in the darkness around us.
“Swear.” I smiled.
He pulled me into his arms. All emotions settled. My heart hammered in my chest with relief.
“I really love that pond. But you're going to have to skate with me. Time we make some good memories out there. I would love to see you play, rough me up a bit. You would have been a hell of an enforcer.” He chuckled.
“Hockey, man. I couldn't escape it if I tried.” I laughed and smacked his ass.
“And all it took was skating you around on the ice on my back.” He reached back and smacked my ass, then squeezed it a little, letting his body press into mine.
“What do you mean?”
“You told me once 'you had me on the ice'. All I had to do was lift you up and skate around. Like we were in some romcom.” He smirked.
“Oh, Sarge you're an idiot.” I kissed his cheek.
“Huh?”
“When I said 'you had me on the ice', I didn't mean weeks later when you came to Paulie's game, I meant the moment you helped me off the ice.” I raised my eyebrows up and down.
“Oh.” The realization washed over him quickly, the emotion took hold of his eyes, a tear threatening to fall onto his cheek.
“Yup. I was so afraid of the memories the ice held for me and there you were, making me forget it all. I think I've known since then. Was just too afraid to admit it to myself.”
A few agonizing moments passed before he spoke.
“Damn, that was the hardest hit I ever took.” He rubbed his chest, swirling his fingers in his chest hair under his shirt in contemplation. “Knocked me straight on my ass.”
“You don't call me Lucifer for nothing. I can scrap.” I winked at him.
“You think you can go with me?” His face lit up at the possibility.
“Is that a challenge?” I took one fistful off his T-shirt and with the tightening of my squeeze his eyes lit up with pleasure. Oh, this was new, and this would be fun. I took a step back and locked my arm.
He gently squeezed the neck of my old lady nightgown and I threatened to bite his arm.
“No teeth!” He squeaked.
We pushed a little in a friendly, hot battle. He really wasn't being rough. I was trying a little harder just to get him to smile. I tried to get him worked up so I could have him chase me back to the bedroom.
“Come on you big hockey player, show me how you enforce.” I giggled.
His eyes went wild and in one fell swoop he bet over and stepped back, leaving me holding onto nothing but his T-shirt like magic. But a second later he stepped into me and lifted me up onto the counter.
“You want me to show you what?” His lips grazed my ear, his voice rasped. His dick was hard against my thigh.
My breath caught in my throat, heat flushing from my head to my toes. This was everything.
“Enforce.” I gave him the look, devilish and wanting.
Sasha took me right there on my favorite butcher block counter. His hips grinding into mine, me losing my mind and any will I had to be sexy. I could only be wanting. I could only be feral in his arms when he did those things to me.
“Ahhh. Sasha!” I screamed. I howled, as he hit all the right spots relentlessly.
He pulled the breath from my body until I had nothing left. I came, he came and we fell to the cold floor, tangled and enraptured.
“Shit.” He whispered. “How the fuck am I going to deny myself that before a game? It's never felt like this before.”
“Yeah.” I sighed. “I can thank hockey for the stamina it gave you that is for sure. I think my soul just left my fucking body.” I tried to steady my breath.
“I am hockey. So please, use my stamina for the rest of your life.”
“Until your untimely death. Preferably while still making love to me?”
“Sounds like the perfect way to go.”
“It does actually. I'll go at the same time. But I need a break. My uterus is tightening and it feels fucking weird right now.” I pressed my hand against my scar physically feeling a tremor.
His eyes bugged out and stared at my stomach. “I–I didn't hurt you, did I?”
“No. Just give her a break. I would like to use it eventually and I won't be able to if it doesn't heal right.” Sasha would look amazing holding a daughter shirtless. Fucking swoon.
“OK, shit. I got over excited. I'll follow your lead on your bodily needs. But you only have yourself to blame for my dick being so hard. This is just new for me.”
“Me fucking too Sarge.” But I don't think I was talking fully about my uterus. I was talking about a relationship and how I hoped I wouldn't mess it all up this time.
I turned onto my knees and went into the kitchen and started to pull leftover chicken from the fridge. I knew he would be starving after such a stressful game, such a glorious night, multiple orgasms, a little stress and realizing how much we loved each other.
And, I was really fucking hungry.
Sasha pulled bread out of the breadbox, found the mayo in the fridge, as I threw cranberries on the counter and started shredding chicken in a bowl.
I pulled a candy cane from my candy dish and started to peel at the wrapper.
His eyes darted from my lips to my eyes, a knowing twinkle settling around the irises.
Sasha opened his mouth so I could give him my piece. I walked over and let him take it, his tongue tasting me like I was all he wanted, all he ever wanted.
I stepped away, in a delirious lovers haze I hoped I would never escape from. But a rank smell pulled me from my euphoria. “What is that smell?” I peaked around near the door and found Sasha's hockey bag fuming. Two hockey sticks propped up in the entryway.
“I brought my bag in from the car. It has to air out.”
“It smells like toxic waste.” I looked him up and down horrified someone so good looking could produce the stench.
“You'll still take me, the good and the bad?” Sasha shrugged his shoulder and gave me puppy dog eyes.
“You're lucky your good looking and your cock is amazing.” I gave him a once over because, fuck, his cock was so good.
“No, you're lucky I'm good looking and my cock is amazing.” He crowded me, nipping at my neck with his teeth, the freak.
I let all my breath leave my body. I was sated and happy and warm.
“Then it is agreed, candy canes-” Sasha showed me the candy cane on his tongue.
“ and hockey sticks from now on?” I picked up the disgusting bag and threw it into the downstairs bathroom, turning on the exhaust fan and shutting the door.
“And saw dust in your hair.” He came beside me and kissed my cheek. “And sexting during away games.” Kiss. “And falling asleep on the couch while watching movies.” Kiss. “And delicate-” Kiss. “Fucking-” Kiss. “Chicken salad sandwiches you'll eat while sitting in my lap.”
Fuck. He was getting me wet again. I took a step away just to clear my head from the intoxicating headiness of him. But then I stumbled back into his arms where he held me tightly against his chest.
“I'll go to your games when I can, you'll come here when you can. We'll make it work?” I was satisfied.
He nodded his head, leaning in to me to graze my lips, the mint making my heart race. “For life.”
I gasped and kissed him back. Our eyes lingered for a while, just standing there in the kitchen, realizing all we had been through, all we had worked through and all we were going to be.
My stomach growled loudly in our silence. Sasha took the cue and started to make the sandwiches.
“Do you have any–”
I shook the bottle of paprika in his direction. His face melted with happiness. He rubbed his chest as he looked me up and down. “Thanks, Babe.”
I rolled my eyes in a swoon. “Sasha, if you're hockey then I'm in trouble.”
“Why?”
“Because that means, after so many years of heartache and hate, now I love hockey.”
The End
