Chapter 6 Killian

KILLIAN

I was going to destroy that Elf on a Shelf. And anything else she decided to let drift out of her bedroom.

I didn’t own a single Christmas or even winter decoration for a damn reason.

I didn’t celebrate the holiday. Not since the tragedy that I buried years ago and didn’t think about.

But, I also had to admit, hiding the stuffed elf in her belongings was a bit thrilling. But one bad day at work had me barging into her room and throwing the forsaken doll at her.

She was in the middle of getting dressed, and while I didn’t see anything, it still caused me to lose track of my thoughts for a moment.

Don’t go there, Killian. It will only lead to more lonely nights…

I stopped myself from thinking anymore and did the only thing I could think of. Turn my grumpy, Grinch-like demeanor and cold tone up to the max.

I regretted it when she switched to a softer tone, no longer yelling at me. But I couldn’t let my shield down. Not until I knew that she forgave me.
