Epilogue
Josie
Six months later
“All right, you know the rules.” Maverick helps me up to the platform with a grin.
We are racing the obstacle course again. But I feel sure I can win it this time. I’ve gotten a lot fitter over the past couple of months. All this fresh air and exercise as well as good food, the love of a good man and plenty of sex, I’m healthier and happier than I have ever been.
We often race the obstacle course together. The rule is that whoever wins gets to choose where we have sex. A lot of times it has ended up being right there and then on the course. Not with anybody watching of course.
We run several camps throughout the year. Some with under privileged kids and still some with big companies as team building events. But in the down time, when the camp is empty, well anywhere is fair game for us to get naked together.
I was pleasantly surprised to find out that Maverick has a house on the grounds. A house with a big, soft wonderful bed. And a shower with magical water pressure. But our favorite place to go is still the camping ground next to the lake.
But if I win the race then I always opt for us to go up there on the quad bikes, one of which Maverick had painted pink and gave to me as a present. Though he still teases me about being a hazard on the roads.
Life is pretty perfect. We have a future planned together. A future that includes children. But we know that the plan can change, but whatever happens, we are in it together.
“Okay.” Maverick says. “On the count of three. One. Two…”
“Three.” I yell out and set off at a run. I have a head start but I know he will catch me. I always end up caught by my lumberjack.
