Chaos #3
“I-I wanted money. I deserved to live nicely, to have nice things. Bianca always said no and wouldn’t share her money with me.
A wife should share her husband’s dreams. And everything she has is his.
I knew I’d never get those and more if I stayed with her.
Cecily was used to the good life. She made really good money and came from a wealthy family.
She promised me that we’d have it all. At first, I thought I could have them both.
But Cecily eventually grew tired of sharing me.
If I wanted to keep her, I had to divorce Bianca. ” His voice was shaky.
“So, you threw away my cousin because material things meant more to you,” Mishap stated, disgusted.
Tears ran from the corner of Byron’s eyes.
“Answer me!” Mishap shouted, shaking him by the hair.
“Yes! Yes, that’s why I cheated and left Bianca. I lied. She was never boring in bed. The truth is that she was always better than Cecily.”
“So why aren’t you and the wonderful moneybags Cecily still together?” Forge asked.
When he didn’t answer, Forge punched him a couple of times in the gut. We had to wait for the gagging and shouting to stop to get our answer. Again, his head was raised by Mishap’s hold on his hair. As he did, I smelled it.
“Christ! He pissed himself,” I sneered.
“Figures. Alright, are you gonna answer me or do you want more?” Forge asked.
“No, no more, please! One day Cecily told me she never intended to marry me or live a luxury life with me. She was secretly engaged to a man her father handpicked for her. They were getting married in a few months. And she had to get rid of her toy because her fiancé said none were allowed anymore. She told me she never wanted to see me again.”
“So that’s why when Mishap called you, you decided to try and get Bianca back,” I said.
“Yes, I realized I’d made a terrible mistake. She loved me. I thought I could get her back and show her we could start over. I’d been trying to find her for a while when he called,” Byron said softly.
“Do you see now that’s never happening? Even if she weren’t with me, Bianca would never be with a spineless, cheating, piece of shit like you.
But no worries, she’ll be loved and adored for the rest of her life.
And the children she has will be mine. I’ve got to say.
I hate that she got hurt the way she did, but I thank you for giving me my Lioness. She’s the love of my life.”
Without another word, Forge, Mishap, and I continued to mete out our lesson.
When we were through, Byron had to be carried to his car and driven to the nearest ER.
They dumped him and his car down the street, and someone made an anonymous call.
Of course, he was told what would happen to him if he said a word about who beat him. Next time, he’d end up buried.
“Hey, I lost you again. I think I need to get your attention back on me. What would you say to dancing with me? There’s music playing that’s perfect for slow dancing. Or will it destroy your macho, biker image?” Bianca asked, smirking.
I turned her in my arms and whirled her around the open floor. We were all gathered there as usual. As she laughed and I held her close, I spotted her cousin. Mishap was another positive in the past couple of months.
First, he had gone to AnnMarie, in front of the entire club, and apologized for his behavior toward her. He begged her to forgive him. Offered to let the club beat him for her, if she wanted. Being the sweet person she was, AnnMarie refused the beating and forgave him.
Secondly, his test results came back. The tumor was benign.
And the doctor was positive he got it all.
Mishap would need regular checkups for a while to make sure nothing else arose from it.
The seizures, it seemed, were due to the tumor.
He’d been off the medicine for a month and had no episodes.
After six months of being free of them without medication, the doctor would allow him back to driving and riding his motorcycle.
He hated being chauffeured around, but it was for his safety and others’.
He and Bianca had worked through her anger over how he’d talked to her and acted.
The club and I had, too. Mishap still occasionally mentioned how guilty he felt.
We reassured him that we knew it wasn’t him.
In addition to Mishap’s improved health, there had been no more visits from Bianca’s ex.
He got the message when we met with him at the hotel, but I kept an eye out for him just to be sure. He never told the police who beat him.
One thing was for sure. I would allow no one or nothing to come between my Lioness and me.
We were working on our future, which would include a ring on her finger, swiftly followed by a wedding, and then kids if I had my way.
I was giving her a bit more time to get used to being mine and having an extended family behind her.
I never imagined that a ride to back up a club brother would end in me finding the woman meant to be my old lady. And that Chaos could be tamed. All it took was finding a Lioness.
