Chapter 31 #2

She bit down into her bottom lip and opted out of following the simple directions I gave. Layloni stubborn ass plopped down in a love seat across from me. My jaw tightened as I raised a thick brow at her.

Still playing fuckin’ games… I thought.

“Come sit next to me,” I repeated.

“How was your day, King?” she asked calmly, totally ignoring my request.

I wanted to pull her close, smell her perfume, wrap my arms around her waist and just feel all over her thick ass body.

“Solid,” I answered shortly.

If she wanted to play games, I could play too.

“That’s good,” she said with a soft smile. “Would you like something to drink?”

I shook my head no.

“I want you to come sit next to me, Layloni.” My tone dropped.

She sighed like I was inconveniencing her, then finally got up and walked over. When she sat down beside me, her body tensed up.

“Relax, baby,” I said quietly.

My hand slid onto her thigh, I closed my eyes for a couple of seconds just enjoying the feel of her soft skin beneath my fingertips.

This was the peace that Hussle mentioned earlier.

I felt that shit and wanted to continue to feel it after tonight.

Just being in her space felt serene to a nigga.

I stared into her eyes, getting lost for a second before she finally spoke.

“I am relaxed,” she said. “I just want us to focus on having a conversation… not seducing each other for once.”

I smirked soon as the words left her mouth. It was a struggle for me to keep from sliding my hand to in between her thighs.

“First,” she said softly, “I want to apologize.”

That caught my attention instantly.

“My hormones been crazy… my emotions too,” she continued. “But that didn’t give me the right to come at you the way I did.”

She looked down at her hands.

“I didn’t even give you a chance to process anything. A baby is new for both of us.” Her voice softened.

“I’m sorry for not letting you speak. We both should have better communication with this situation.” She admitted.

I sat there stunned. Women rarely apologized for anything. Hearing Layloni take accountability for the childish ass behavior she’d been displaying made me respect and fall for her even more.

“I want us to have a good relationship,” she continued quietly. “So when our baby gets here… he or she see us getting along.” She smiled.

She paused like she had more to say but held it back.

“I want that too,” I replied seriously.

I leaned forward slightly, grabbing the bottom of her chin.

“I apologize too, Layloni,” I quickly kissed her lips. “I really love you, I’m falling hard for you. I find it hard to express myself but there’s a lot of shit I want with you before this baby comes.” I released her chin then stretched my legs wide.

“You need to move with me, I ain’t trying to miss nothing when it comes to my child.”

Her eyes widened with every word I said.

“I think that’s moving too fast,” she said carefully. “We can still be good parents in separate homes.” She met my gaze.

“Living together means we’re in a relationship. That’s a commitment.” She added.

I nodded slowly.

“I ain’t sure if I’m ready to be tied down like that… I know how I feel about you but think we need to take the commitment part slow. I’m not trying to hurt you…when women get hurt they end up doing drastic ass shit that’s out of line.” My jaw tightened.

“Like trying to keep a baby away… Or fuck on other niggas to prove a pointless point.” I rolled my jaw then clenched it tightly.

She stiffened.

“That’s some shit that’ll get a reaction out of me fast.” I warned.

Her eyes narrowed immediately.

“Don’t threaten me, King.” She frowned.

I held her gaze without blinking.

“I ain’t threatening you,” I said calmly. “I’m telling you how it is, and what it could possibly be.”

She shifted uncomfortably, doing everything like looking at her nails then glancing around her living to keep her eyes from locking with mine.

“We’re not moving in together. That’s final.” Her voice was firm.

“I just bought this house. I’m not giving it up for you… just like you’re not giving up your other women for me.” She spat, shooting me a nasty look.

“I ain’t talking about no other bitches right now. We talking about our baby.” I gritted out.

Layloni’s nose wrinkled, her left leg started to bounce fast. I could already feel this conversation going left before it went right.

“Look, Loni,” I sighed.

“Let’s take things slow and see where it goes.” I reassured her.

“A nigga sitting here trying to express my concerns along with my feelings. All of this shit is new for me and all I can do is be honest since I know my get down thoroughly. I don’t want to sit here, snap my fingers and say fuck it, we gone be together, be a happy family then I turn around and disappoint you.

At the same time, I’m ready to take care of you fully.

If you don’t want to work, and focus on just the baby…

I got you. Whatever you want and need, I got you. ”

Her breathing hitched slightly.

“I don’t want to be a kept bitch, King.” She tooted her nose up.

“I respect that.” I smirked.

Once again, my hand found her thigh, slowly it crept to underneath her night gown. She glared at me but eventually relaxed from my touch.

“We’re not moving together,” she said calmly. “And we’re not having sex anymore either.”

My hand froze.

“No kissing. No nothing.” She stared directly into my eyes.

“And don’t get mad when you see me with Monty.”

My jaw tightened.

“I’m not sleeping with him,” she continued quickly. “He’s a friend. He’s been there for me while I’ve been grieving my mom.” Her voice softened slightly.

“But casual sex with you isn’t something I can keep doing.” She swallowed.

“My feelings grow deeper every time we sleep together.” Her eyes glistened. “I love you more every time you’re around.”

That confession hit me harder than I expected.

“I respect the fact you don’t want to commit,” she continued. “So you need to respect that you can’t control me either.” Her voice grew firmer.

“I won’t sleep with another man while I’m pregnant with your baby.” She paused, licking her lips. “But you won’t be touching me again either.”

My brows lifted.

“The next man I sleep with will be my man,” she said confidently. “And he’ll love me.”

With that, she quickly stood to her feet leaving me sitting frozen blown by her words.

“I’m tired, King. I had a long day.” She stretched and yawned dramatically.

She grabbed her phone from the coffee table.

“I just want a healthy friendship between us now.” She added before turning away and walking towards her hallway.

Those hips swayed with every step, making that thick ass bounce in a way that had my body reacting instantly.

“I’ll text you Sunday about my next doctor’s appointment,” she added over her shoulder.

Then she disappeared into the hallway. I barely heard half the shit she said. All I knew was she had nerve thinking I wasn’t going to touch her again.

And Monty?

Yeah… I was going to handle that nigga personally if she kept bringing that bitch ass nigga up. I stood up and followed her down the hallway, passing two guest rooms before reaching double doors that I assumed was her room at the end.

I turned the knob and frowned when I discovered that shit locked.

“Open the door, Layloni,” I called out. My voice echoed through the hall.

I could hear her smack her lips and imagined her rolling her eyes.

“Please lock the front door when you leave, King,” she said loudly.

I stood there staring at the door. My head dropped along with my fucking balls. I had never felt this played in my life.

It was never this hard to get my rocks off. Now here I was standing outside her door with a hard dick and no way in. I wasn’t about to knock again and act a fool.

I stepped back slowly, swallowing my pride. Then I walked out her house with what little dignity I had left. I could easily call up another woman and get my shit off but deep down I knew it wouldn’t bring me the same satisfaction.
